View Full Version : what was your biggest disappointment concert wise?
A few years ago we booked to go and see Bruce Springsteen and the original band members at Earls Court...... arrived so looking forward to the concert, after waiting 15 years for the original band members to reform....... as the E Street Band
What a let down:( :( :( on stage Bruce and and the band members were barely visible, maybe there was a power cut:twisted: but I don't think so, not even the spot light which occasionally marked out Bruce, could detract from the abysmal songs i.e. The Ghost of Tom Joad...
We left when we realised that things were not going to get any better, and so did many others:evil:
All though Bruce is back, I don't think somehow we will be going to see him again - its a shame as we have been fans of his since the days of The River..
But who knows maybe, just maybe considering Hammermsith is just up the road from us........

Me . . . I've had circumstances beyond my control cause me two miss the last two Meat concerts I had tickets for.
First, Meat canceled the September 2003 concert at Beau Rivage in Biloxi, MS due to illness. Then, on Agust 29, 2005, Hurricane Katrina hit us three weeks before another scheduled gig at Beau Rivage.
Maybe I should just stop getting tickets for gigs at this venue!! ;)

With you on that one Ben!
But my biggest disappointment was the only time I have ever seen Cher in concert. She relied so heavily on old video footage, and she had at least three screens on stage (all playing different footage), so that you could bearly see Cher herself.
And she's not all that tall either. Sonny must have been a real short ass.
I spent so much of the concert trying to catch a glimpse of Cher in action, I ended up with a neck cramp and a headache. Quite a let down.

Worse musical concert was BLINK 182 - Not because of the band itself - but the sound quality was really poor. You really had to strain your ears in order to actually know what song they were singing. The band themselves made the best of it & put on a good show. I'd have sacked the soundman !!
Travis Baker on drums was fantastic - not just saying that either. He had another drum kit in the middle of the arena floor. He came up out of a platform with lights & the whole drumkit circling around - what an amazing solo.
Worst normal concert was Jethro - he was absolute crap. Not many people were laughing as it was all old stuff - nothing original. We walked out.
Not been disappointed live, but, I'm quite a Christina Aguilera fan and I was going to book and see her at Newcastle but couldn't afford it at the time, so I picked up the Live DVD instead, and was pleased I hadn't booked.
The show was great and she sounded amazing but I felt that she wasn't on stage for long enough; a few minutes before the end of the songs you're left watching dancers doing fairly impressive routines then realise that Christina isn't there because she's gone to get changed. I felt there was too much focus on the stage show and not enough on actually being able to see Christina herself

Kylie was a bit like that. She did make up for it by giing me a hug afterwards which was a plus point!!
Westlife were pretty bad as they only did an hour. The rest of it was all support bands who weren't right good!
Keith urban was reasonable but the concert wasn't too brilliant as a lot of the audience didn;t really get involved.

Do you mean Jethro Tull? God, they were awful at the House of Blues in New Orleans an few years back. Ian spent more time on his political diatribe than he did singing. What a disappointment!

The best concert I've ever seen was a Jethro Tull concert. Almost 4 hours of music with the warm-up act, and introduced me to a wonderful musician called Willy Porter. Great selection of songs and great value for money.

Westlife only on for an hour??!! What a rip-off even for a boyband! I'd have been demanding my money back if I had been there!

Oasis at T in the Park a few years ago, they weren't
up to much after seeing Green Day do an amazing set
the same day.

Had I paid then I would have demanded a refund! I was playing chaperone to get a group of lasses to Birmingham and back. In exchange for me looking after them adn getting them ont he right trains and carrying them when drunk and so on, they bought my ticket.
