I was looking on this fansite of Jim's http://www.daveakerman.com/jim.htm and I came accross Jim Steinman pictures of when he went to see the Dream Engine. He looks so older, What do you think???

I have attached some pictures from there. One of them makes him look ill..

I wouldn't call it met him...but I was standing as close to him as the lady in the pic...not the grey haired one - that one was with him. I waived and smiled at him...he waived and smiled back...

I, too, saw him at Dream Engine. He looked ill and swollen, and I didn't see him move his left arm at all. But his spirits were very high, and he seem to welcome talking to people. It is very sad; we can see why Meat is worried and upset about him.

 Although I agree he isn't looking his best, he's still got THAT smile 8)
What more could a happy Loafer wish to see?
The good humour on his face shows why he is such a kick ass writter.
And I LOVE the tie
You ROCK Jim

I was just looking at the picture and thinking about it...man still knows how to dress...hahahaha...

In any event...he appeared to have been very mellow...I don't know if he was always like this...but he actually allowed people to jump into his face and shake his hand...true...his hand would automatically turn into claw and you could see that he wasn't 100% happy but he didn't let on very obviously...

Has Steinman ever been a picture of health? I think the swollen part is fat, as Andrew Lloyd Webber once put it after they had a meal together "Steinman doesn't have an eating disorder, he has an ordering disorder"

No. If you look at the rest of him, the swelling is disproportionate around his jowls and face. This could be one of two things: stroke related symptoms, or the side effects of steroids (a popular cancer treatment).

As for the smile, my gandma-in-law has that smile, and after 3 strokes, she's a vegetable, the smile is all she has.

Still hope I'm wrong, though.

No matter what Steinman looks like, I guess he'll always be the same quick witted, humerous and utterly adorable genious that he is underneath!
I just hope he's finally recovering...
Long Live Jim 'GOD' Steinman!
