This is the START OUT OF HELL & ARRIVE TO HEAVEN topic.
Let's Go to Rock 'n' Roll!!!!!!!

Runnin' For The Red Light (I Gotta Life) (6)

I think it's an average song. Not typical Meat Loaf. Only Rock 'n' Roll! I can compare the story with "Blind Before I Stop" or "All Revved Up". I read somewhere Meat doesn't drink a lot of alcohol and here he wants tequila.
I think the best song of alcohol is "Dry County" by Bon Jovi!
It isn't the best song on the album...

My score: 6

Average: 7.94 (71.5/9)

I was waiting for this song..because I love this song!
I heard Tina Turner did it on one of her tours.
My score: 8 (and even more if I feel like dancing)

His vocals are great. The backing vocals are great (on the whole album).
This song has to burst out of your speakers. Madder than a madman and bored to the c.c.c.c.core. Superb first vocals!
I did not know that Tina Turner sings it. is it on an album?

8/10

Hi Bart,
I don't think Tina Turner ever recorded it. But she did sing it on one of her many 'last world tours'.

I just been listening to this song again recently. I didn't really like the album when i first got it, but have been giving it another chance. And this is one of my favourites.

BUT, it has to be played loud!

 Guitar powered rock & roll.
About as subtle as a bull in a china shop.As soon as it starts it's right there.
I tried to sing it once.I mean tried and I mean once  .It's been a challenge ever since.I will have another go someday  .
Great fast and frantic music and lyrics.
8/10 A good time.

Like it a lot! That's a fun song. It gives me energy just like Do It!

There's a movie called Red Light Runners (produced and played by Michael Madsen and Harvey Keitel) which was shot this summer in London... hope they will ask to put this song on it! 8)

8/10

This is an embarrasing rip-off of "Good Times". I'm Australian and I love Vanda and Young. I used to sing "Good Times" LIVE but I hate this version. It's mental. 2/10.

Did this have a video? Never seen it or heard anyone mention it except when someone said they didn't know about it in a Bat 3 forum. Would love to see it.

I love this one too - But I have a tendency to get it mixed up with When the rubber meets the road - also good song! - It's only when it starts that I'm like yeah - don't drink the water! Its an uplifting song. I like the rebel without a clue line. Also 9/10

Very underated song this, quite similar to Jumpin the gun though. I would give it a 7 out of 10.

I believe the Austrailian rocker Jimmy Barnes recorded this many years ago...

It's a slightly different version, I believe. I have heard it, but can't get Meat's version out of my head long enough to fully remember how it went.

The verses are different, but the chorus is pretty similar. It was credited to Vanda, Young, Durkee, Meat Loaf and Patti Russo. So it seems they started out with the original Vanda & Young song and tried to 're-invent' it. I'm not sure which version I prefer, though - the INXS & Jimmy Barnes version on The Lost Boys soundtrack is killer, but this has its own charm too.

I was surprised this was released as a single in the UK, though, as it was one of the B-sides to I'd Lie For You (And That's The Truth) just a few months before, and although they usually have rules to say that former B-sides are not eligible for chart positions, this made something like number 21 on it's own merit. Probably due to the really quite smart 12" picture disc

I would say 8/10.
