View Full Version : Quick ML trivia question?
As this has baffled a couple of people,
What Meat Loaf song is J2?
A prize or a pint at the next tour to the first correct answer!!!
I'd initially guess "Back Into Hell". It's the 10th song on the 2nd Bat album - but there is nothing to say that it should be the second "bat" album that I choose - except meat's second album doesn't have 10 tracks (Dead Ringer only has 8 ). And neither VBO CD has 10 tracks, so it can't be referring to that.
J=10
Maybe I'm being too mathematical...

It could also be "took the words" as that is the second jim steinman song ?
However technically it is "Bat" as Meat did do a single version of "More than you deserve" with Jim before Bat was released.
This is confusing :tard:
Neither of them are right I'm afraid.
You are over analsying it far too much.

 there is no meat loaf song by that title.....
Only "J" of relevance that I can think of is Jim, though my guess was the same as Musicman's which apparently is wrong....let me think!
This might be off the charts...but...
Two out of three ain't bad???
Ok, next attempt is based on Musicman's concept. Meat's first song he recorded of Jim's was More Than You Deserve - the second was maybe Heaven Can Wait (i know it was the "first song [Jim] played [Meat] from Bat").
Also, reverse engineering. The time that Chris' original post appeared, Heaven Can Wait will have been in the "New Posts" link, maybe jogging memories to post such a question :P So even though my reasoning may be incorrect - I might have the right answer with Heaven Can Wait :)
OK ... my theory. Mr. Chris is a newsagent. Marvel Comics produce a comic book hero magazine called J2 and Meat has recorded a song about heroes.
My guess: "It's A Time For Heroes".
Diane
Oooh Diane...mega logic there!!
I have to confess...I got so bloody annoyed thinking about it last night that I had to ask Chris for a clue so I could work it out....you guys better get your thinking caps on!!

Hmmm...
It wont be a part from the lyrics something like
Jay too or similar. Thatīd be too easy
There is no fitting name of a song for these words too...
so maybe thereīs J1
J is obviously not Jim
is there a album with J? No
J=10...to mathmatic
Is jay an old number from rome like I,V,X,L,C,D,or M? no
itīs nothing personal to Chris related because he says we could know
Is J a tour? no
is J some kinda musical key? No
so if thereīs J 1 and J 2 then it could be part one and two fo a song, is there something like that? No.
Maybe a song that was first recorded by Jim and then by Meat
R&R Dreams
Frying pan
Left in the Dark
Surfīs Up
Lost Boys
and now Bad for Good...
:confused::confused::confused:
I actually think Diane will take the prize after all...
I don't think so mszee judging on what Lucy said above.
:nope:
Diane

Well, I think I am just about done:
1. I am a woman - therefore, no logic whatsoever
2. I don't look good in any kind of cap

Entering "meat loaf" j2 and meatloaf j2 on google brought just this result:
and J2 had put some meat in a bag for me to take home
You see Chris...this is why I had to ask for clues!! It's too difficult!! lol

So what about us Chris? Can we have some clues too?!!! :sherlock:

OK,
you are all over analysing.
J2 is a code for the song. Instead of trying to crack the code (impossible) ask yourself in what situation would a song be given a code number?

ok, i'm going to take a stab. if a song needed a code, and if the song in question is different from other songs that it needs a code, i would guess "the monster is loose" due to the fact that it has been released on the internet months prior to the album's release. i'm no expert when it comes to uploading songs on the'net, but TMIL is the only thing that comes to mind when thinking of "special circumstances" that would require a code. i expect my beer....

You shall be waiting a long time for your beer.....
Another clue, bear in mind that I am not an evil person. I don;t expect you to be solving a code, most people use a code for a song at some point....why??
Paradise is also wrong i'm afraid.
Indeed, I can say witrh some degree of certainty that Google and the other search engines are definitely not your friends in this case.

I am using codes when I try to register all my songs...
Letter=album
Number=Title
Album#10 would be CHSIB
second song is DIST
But if you count the 80īs live album too
then #10 would be very best of
there are two different version, on mine Track 2 is DRFL
But you could count all the DVDs too and the Stoney and Meat Loaf and all the 2nd 3rd,... issues....and and and
But I think that all that is too compicated...
Is it Did I say that Chris?
it's not DIST.
And you are still trying to analyse the code.
Think about a situation where you identify a song by a code, any code!
and then think about a situation where that is associated with a Meat song.
Incidentally, since I am buying a drink for the winner, I reckon that if all the wrong answers were worth a drink, I could do a full tour without getting my wallet out!!

good god, tell us already before i declare myself the winner and come to claim my beer! i can't believe i let myself get sucked in like this....
I would do anything for love...but I won't do that...
Nope, this will keep going until we get an answer
(and unlike the person who PM'ed me, try and give a reason for the answer rather than just a listing of all Meat's songs.)
More clues tomorrow night if no one has guessed!! (or declare yourself out of the running and PM me for the answer!!)

So it has to be something special about that song...
like it was never released on a meat album
The ones that come to my mind are
TMIL
Heroes and
Back to Sorrento
one of them?
I cannot begin to tell you just how wrong you are there RJ!

This is depressing, just tell us the answer or we'll all die! :D
Guess we will hear the answer if we all agree to buy Chris a beer when we meet up with him ;)
Chris do I get a drink for getting it right on my second guess having been given the clue?! Because that's quicker than this lot! lol

:tard: Is it "Midnight at the Lost and Found" ? (starting at Meat's second album, counting up to the 10th song, which is the second song on the third album)
It is neither of those.
But think about the imagery in midnight.
If it's a code that after this many posts still hasn't been broke, the phrase maybe "If it ain't broke - Break it!".... However, J2 for that is too abstract - it's a rubbish code if it's random letters - and therefore, it's not my guess in this post. :P
And that doesn't explain your comment maybe about the "imagery in midnight". So I rack my brains and see Chris' comment about people giving songs codes. No one gives a song a code - except maybe to say that it's "track 2". Maybe we were on that right line still but missed the obvious and went around the houses.
The second song on Jim Steinmans' album - and my guess in this post - is Lost Boys And Golden Girls. It's not entirely the imagery that Midnight has - but there are elements. You would be quite allowed to call this song J2 and not seem illogical - infact, looking back, it's probably the most obvious guess.

Could it be "It Just Won't Quit" ??
I think that's the second song to feature the letter J in the title.
Actually the rock n roll medley on live had Jailhouse Rock....
