View Full Version : I quit....
I am hereby officially tendering my resignation as an adult.
I have decided I would like to accept the responsibilities of an 8 year-old again.
I want to go to McDonald's and think that it's a four star restaurant.
I want to sail sticks across a fresh mud puddle and make a pavement with rocks.
I want to think M&Ms are better than money because you can eat them.
I want to lie under a big oak tree and play doctors and nurses with my friends on a hot summer's day.
I want to return to a time when life was simple;
When all I knew were colours, multiplication tables, and nursery rhymes, and it didn't bother me, because I didn't know what I didn't know and
I didn't care.
All I knew was to be happy because I was blissfully unaware of all the things that should make me worry or upset.
I want to think the world is fair. That everyone is honest and good.
I want to believe that anything is possible. I want to be oblivious
to the complexities of life and be overly excited by the little things
again.
I want to live simple again. I don't want my day to consist of
computer crashes, mountains of paperwork, depressing news, how to survive more days in the month than there is money in the bank, gossip, illness and loss of loved ones.
I want to believe in the power of smiles, hugs, a kind word, truth,
justice, peace, dreams, the imagination, mankind, and making angels in the snow.
So . . .
here's my cheque book and my car-keys,
my credit card bills and my mobile phone.
I am officially resigning from adulthood.
And if you want to discuss this further, you'll have to catch me first, cause...
......"Tag! You're it."
Hope You'll join me!

Dottie - it drives me mad how you say you are old.. You are selling yourself short. You remind me of the Geology teacher I had in college - the woman who introduced me to Meat's music. She's 54, and whenever I tell anyone about her, I always say "she's still got a fire in her heart". And I know you do too. Your very being on this forum is proof enough of that. I don't think you ever stopped, or ever will stop rocking.
With great respect,
Dave.

Only going by loggo - If so did you ever hang about around the Ace Cafe along the North circular? ^ something or another left so will sign off  love dottie xxxx

I'm almost 19 and want to be a child again! I think that lissening to meat is a great way to stay a child, for example. Last year when Meat was at the Park in London where we were seated (stood the entire time) just infront was an elderly lady jumping around, singing and generly having fun. To me it seemed that the music made her feel young like a child without a care in the world, this a good thing. I tryed a little experiment on a few people i know by playing music of different types:
Meat
Queen
Korn
Tellytubies
Robbie
P Daddy and others
From the resualts:
Tellytubies; made people hate life 8O
Korn; made people depressed
Queen & Meat; Start singing, having a good time and generly feelbetter about theself. Tis is a good thing.
Because of this I would start marketing Meat as an anty aging agent to be taken twice daily with a good breakfast, a small lunch and a proper evening meal. This should increase your general health and premote a better lifestyle that in the long run may make you feel younger.
I wonder if that was me!!

IT WAS ME!! I'M AN OLD LADY!!
LOL Dottie.
I think we established on another thread that you are the only one older than me here. I'll bet we could give any of these young whippersnappers a run for the money when it comes to rocking out at a Meat Loaf concert!
The calendar may say one thing, but you don't have to beleive it,
T
...off to call the eye doc for an appt. 8O tomorrow

Megoing for M.O.T.
Thats for sure - music keeps you 53 years young - I've always said its not how you look - although I say I'm pretty good - I've been to every single concert since 1983 - some twice - and including things like The Princes Trust at the Royal Albert Hall and Hammersmith Apollo - KEEP ON ROCKING 8)
So you have seen maybe 40 shows or something. I am impressed.

Bart it might even be more than that - so there are benefits for being an older person - you get to see Meat a lot more  Ievenget all my ticket stubs 8)

Wouldn't it be lovely not to have to worry about bills and the like
Sometimes i feel that I don't know how lucky I am to be a kid. But i wish I was alot younger again so i was young enough not to know better.
Like when Chris said:
because I didn't know what I didn't know and
I didn't care.
That was a perfect age to be, compared to now, because I do know what I don't know and it bothers me!
Having had pne of those days/weeks, I feel it is appropriate to resurrect this post.
Now, last one to the swings is a big girls blouse :lol::lol::lol:

1. When I read "I quit" from Chris, I got scared...I thought we as a bunch of crazed ML fans finally drove him to untimely retirement.
2. Took me sometime to figure out that although it appears that Chris would like to be a child again...he might have changed his mind in 3 years since that post.
3. Never managed to grow up...so never been an adult yet...but sometimes I do wonder how they feel...
Toopher...
You forgot the "I want the wooden train set in the window of The early Learning Centre" :-P

promises promises
Andy don't make me go into the whole yellow and red card system we had...!!!
Ahhh go on, I dare you
Andy consider yourself on a warning. One more and you'll lose your free time at 11.30 today, instead of which you'll be in the hall with Mrs Chapman working on a written explanation as to why you missed that time.
(this works on the kids because Mrs Chapman is my Mum! lol )
Hmmm ... I'm sure your mum would love to hear some of the stories I could tell her ... ;-)
Andy!! Which stories would they be...!
You know the ones Lucy! The ones you asked us all to keep quiet about, I'm sure your mother would love to hear them :))
