If it was to go out to TV, it wouldn't be live. It would be recorded then edited etc first.

Hmmm, not sure really, if they put it on at X-Mas it could harm DVD Sales. I think when Robbie Did his swing gig that they did it live, but who knows.

I hope it will be live for the poeple who did not get a ticket to see it

I'm afraid it doesn't look promising. The only free spaces on TV on the 16th of October at the moment are on ITV btween 9:00-10:30 and on Channel 4 between 8:00-9:00. Both of these spots have programs that are yet to be announced. So unless the concert is any shorter than 1hr and 30mins I don't think it will be shown live.

It could be an hour version like they did for the 1995 gig in new york !! A little taster of whats to come on the dvd when released.

ok

does this mean cable channels are free ???? I don't have cable I only have sky!

Paul191
01 Oct 2006, 18:34
No, there is nowhere else it could be i'm afraid. I've checked almost all of the main channels on sky and cable and there are no free spaces it could be or any mention of any concert of any kind.

I think the only thing we can do is hope that it fits into one of the slots on channel 4 or 3.

who is the best person to ask about this - Sky themselves or someone else ??

There is a digital TV guide that you can download from the net. You have to pay for it but when you have it you can check the tv listings for any channel for up to two months away.:D

There is a months free trial if you want to download it today.

Wishful thinking sadly young Meat Unofficial, this isn't going to be on any TV station.

This may probably be on something like MTV, VH1, or could even be possibly be a Box Office event on SKY TV. More likely be a VH1 to me. Music channels can easily change their schedules, as they do seem to show alot of repeat programmes. :D

 I really can't see this going out live

I'm not even that confident it'll go out on TV any time soon.

If it's being released on DVD, why would you want half the world taping it for free?

Depends what Meat wants I supose.

Either maximum exposure for Bat III, or a DVD that sells more copies

If it does go out on tv, will think it will be an edited version not live, or as I said earlier a box office event, which cannot be recorded, and you pay for these, so revenue is there for that. But I think it will be a recorded show, for DVD, possibly a later showing on VH1, or MTV, edited down, from a full version, and then the full verison will go out on DVD. :D

 Again, it's down to what Meat wants out of this concert.

Does he want maximum exposure for the album, or does he want to sell more copies of the DVD?

There are plenty of people who pay a passing interest in an artist, and are content to settle for a free vid recording without another version of Paradise.

For the fans it'll be a must item, for the people who are not such big fans, it's a free gift.

The more you give away, the less you have to sell

Or does he give people a taste of it, say an hour of the gig on a tv special and then put the entire show on a DVD?

Ross I fail to see where this was ever said :? The only place it came from as far as I can work out is you. I was under the impression you took the fact that there would be a news item on tv about it that day to mean that it would be the whole show on TV. I;m sure most of us have never been under that impression and was a very misleading thing to post on your site.
