Just want let the other people know, that "http://www.meatloaf-fanclub.de/" is gone. So that means (I think) no more videos from Eva.
IMO just curious that Eva closed it. Never thought something from a hardcore fan like her. I respect here opinions, whatever they should excatly be (<-without a sarcastic meaning!), but it seems it has to do something with Meat and Steinman. She always knew more than we.;)

If you want to know why, find a useful online translator and translate the text of the site.( the reason has to do with Meat and Steinman of course. Seems old spectaculations comming up again. I write that without take any position!)

:( I can't read German so I never really visited Evas site on a regular basis. But I did go to see the wonderful pictures from all the shows. I know the site means a very lot to the German fans and will be greatly missed.

I love Eva very much and she is a very dear friend of mine and I hope she gets the time she needs to sort out how she's feeling. I understand completely how she is feeling right now :( And respect her opinions on this.

I love you Eva and hope it all works out for the best for you. At the end of the day, you are all that matters. And know matter what I will always be here for you. On the phone, in emails or even in person ;-)

Just don't expect me to post in a love and support thread every day lol

Miss you already :-(

I've no idea what Eva's point of view ir opinion is here, but like Deb I do know that Eva is a very dear friend who I've shared some fabulous Loaf flavoured adventures with. Thank you for those times Eva, and for all the pics and videos you've so selflessly shared ovedr the years. Be back with us properly soon!

It doesn't make much sense to me, why close down the site?

It's not as if Meat not collaborating with Steinman on Bat3 has been kept a secret, we've all known he wasn't for about a year. Nor was Patti leaving much of a shocker either, not to me anyway, I'm surprised she didn't do her own thing a lot sooner to be honest. And so what if Meat uses a few pre-recorded voice overs on some of the songs, surely that's better than him singing off-key.

I'm not certain what the long term achievement will be for closing down the site, if she was that p*ssed off with the whole thing, then why not hand it over to another German fan? It seems she's gone from one extreme to the other, which she's completely entitled to do, but it doesn't make much sense to me.

unfortunately the site has been totally removed now. :-(
I talked to eva a lot and offered her several times to help her and we discussed that in detail.
Hopefully she knows how much we miss the site.

If I can help you once again, Eva, you know how to find me!

Hi,

as mentioned by "Pudding" the reasons weren't really conviencing to me. Meat was Eva's life, so it's very unlikely that these reasons had caused her actions. You don't throw your life away just becsuse of some rumors, do you? Even if that reasons are the real ones, it would be ok to close the site, but not the forum, which is causing a lot of damage to the community. If you are only in a bad mood, I think you can't risk to bury the German community, cause there might be no way back.

So I think the real reason might be a clash between some german fans (including Eva).
I just want to remind you, that the user called "The Prince of Darkness" had quitted to organise our next fan meeting 2007. Also "Heimathirsch" was baned. 2 very important guys for the community. Also the moment (just after all RAH-payments were done) of closing may be a clue. So I bleieve that Eva had planned these actions for a longer time.

Apart from the speculations about her reasons, it's a great pity that the forum is closed. I hope it reopens very soon. Even that's not very likely.

These are only my thoughts, but I had to write them down.
So please don't blame me for that.

At the moment i feel like: "I'm in the middle of nowhere near the end of the line" and I'm waiting
for "a border to somewhere".

Keep Rocking
Michael

PS: I'm not a native speaker, so please excuse any mistake.
It's my first post to this forum, cause I used to get all my informations form the german forum. I was at RAH, so may be I had already met someone of you.

Hi Michael

I think we met in Mannheim and the RAH

Eva isn't doing anything because she is in a bad mood. Nor is it because of a clash with other German fans. I also see no connection between this and the payments for the RAH tickets. Also Eva has not planned these actions for a longer time.

Eva doesn't have to explain any more than she feels about why she has done this. I know Eva VERY well and I know for a fact that this has nothing at all to do with fans.

I know it's very sad for the German fans and I do feel for them, but at the end of the day it was Eva's own personal fansite. It's hers to give up as she pleases. I don't see why she should be made to feel like she has to pass it on to someone. It'd be like saying Ewan should of passed meatloafonline on when he shut it or if say Jules wanted to shut The Naked Wire she should pass it on.

If all of you are unhappy, think how Eva must be feeling right now to of got to the stage where she did this. Evas decision has effected me very much and I think about it constantly throughout every day. I love her to bits and hate that people think she would do something just because she is angry with others. That is so not Eva.

I really didn't want to have to post in this thread like this, but I couldn't let your post go unanswered :(

Hi Deb,

you are absolutly right, that she don't have to tell us more.
But she have to be aware of the fact, that this behaviour
will feed rumors about her reasons. Like the day when Patty
left the band without any further comment.

And you are also absolutly right, she has the right to close her site. I have never written anything else. We just hadn't any chance to try to move the community to another place, cause she closed it so suddenly. Even some German fans are visting this forum, we won't be able to reach all of them. So if fans haven't caused this, she should give us a fair chance to move. That's all I'm asking for. Transfering it, would be just the easiest way to do this. But I still prefer a reopening.

Sorry, that my post had forced you to reply.

Keep Rocking

Michael

By the way:

Thank you for your reply Michael and like I said I understand how you all feel :( But i'm more than sure that Eva meant no harm to the fans by it, she just couldn't face going on with it all anymore.

As far as the RAH payments go i'm sure that is just coincidental. You were all lucky to of got that long to pay lol. The show was over a month before that.

I'm all for supporting Eva  Not so sure of the chances of bringing the site back up though. Not until she is good and ready anyway and I do feel thats the most important thing here. Eva has to want to do what ever it is that she ends up doing. for all of us though, I hope it's that she comes back as I love her very very much.

As we cant change Eva´s decision and have to respect it, how about this:

Saw it on several other fan sites, that they got two sections: An English and a German section. for example the barclay james harvest forum (www.bjharvest.co.uk/forum).
Question to R:
would that be possible?
I think it´d be worth it, as many of us Germans are active on this forum and we could win some new members with that too.

What do you think?

if there would be an sub-forum for Germans, than you can make one for the Dutchies etc. etc. I think the German fans also learned English at school, and i think if you don't understand what's been written.... ask ;)

well, I didn't really vivist the site as like deb - I can't speak German nor read it but I did go for the wonderfull pictures from the tours.

Also, Eva put me in the straight plus others, like deb when I first setup Meat Loaf Unofficial as I didn't quite get the hang of copyright (hey, I was only 13)and they helped me out so I will miss eva's advise (only the once, I think, but it was greeatly appreciated) but the site will be dearly missed.

That´s the only problem that came to my mind too, but if you look at the userlist, then it consists mainly of UK, Germany and Holland people, and it´s a fact that many Germans understand English, but many do not, and it´d be good t have a place to talk about Meat stuff.

:wtf:

Agree. I don't think any of us can say that we have never had to take a step back from a 'relationship' to gain a new perspective. That relationship is not always with another person. It can be with your job, your commitments, your hobbies, your ideals, political beliefs, your heroes -or what have you. We all develop these relationships on so many levels in our lives that it pointless for any of us to try to understand what has prompted our Eva to take such a step away from something that obviously meant a lot to her over the years. That is Eva's burden, not ours.

With that being said, I think its very important for ALL of us to leave this topic alone. Were I in Eva's shoes I would NOT want to see a topic about ME on this or any site. This is a great community and I have had the good fortune to meet some wonderful people as a direct result of this site. I would like to keep that spirit intact -especially when it concerns a dear friend of mine. Support and understanding goes a long way. Try to understand her actions, give her the time she has requested and support her ultimate decision because that's just what friends do for one another.

As for the very public request for her 'records', that was extremely tacky and inconsiderate. I don't care if you get angry with me for stating something so obvious either.

i do understand this comment. But please try to see it this way. Eva leaving was a big shock to many people, that's what i get from the comments in the thread. About the questions for Eva's personal things that where on the site, i think that wasn't meant to harm her. Perhaps indeed to early to think about that, but honestly i think nobody had bad intentions. Eva and her site are beeing missed by many german fans. Eva has asked for some 'space' to sort things out, let's give her that, and if she says after good thinking, no, i can/will not do it anymore its early enough to ask her about her personal things of the site. But it seems to me that Eva is having a holliday now.... ;) and maybe she comes back, lets wait and see!

Exaclty that´s the point!
There is a dutch forum, but not a german anymore.

Yes, there's a Dutch forum, I founded MEO. (Meat Each other Online, the place in cyberspace for the Dutch Meat Loaf fans.). And why I founded that forum: mlukfc.com is an international forum, which is great! But in 2002/2003 I went searching and I found that - apart from the international communities - a lot of countries had a forum in their native language. The English had this, The USA people had their own, hell.. googling I found out that even the Russians had their own corner in cyberspace. But nothing for the Dutchies. So I founded MEO, the Dutch Meat Loaf forum on january 1rst, 2003. Started out with... about 20 dutch fans. Now I have 330 members and stilll growing.

So I can understand the Germans, feeling deprived and in lack of their own space online... But I understand that there is a new space already? Will the owner of that space check my "links" and check if I still link you correctly? www.meat-loaf.nl and then choose "links" Or please mali me at guppi@meat-loaf.nl

I must say, that I have very mixed feelings about all that has been said in this topic. Maybe because I am in Eva's shoes, as far as: she was the owner of the German forum, I am the owner of the Dutch forum.

I consider the Dutch forum as "my baby". And would you let someone else adopt your baby...

See where I'm getting at? It is just that feeling, and forumowners can indeed feel that way and I for one, understand that feeling. Not judging in any way that people take over and move on. But... remember who was at the source of it all. The one that founded it, that created that corner in cyberspace...

I hope Eva will reconsider. I never met her, but I know she's a well-respected person in the Meat community.
I don't know the details, but I read that she asked for space. So... all should respect that and give her space. And time, right?
Sorry If I am out of line and boring all with such a long post.

It's just that.. well, I own the Dutch forum and maybe I'll be in her shoes one day....
