I'm sorry but, the snow is really slowing down my broadband.
It was great at first but now it is quite annoying when it takes me 10 minutes to scroll down the page.
Is it possible to change it so it doesn't build up at the bottom of the screen or to have an option whether to have it or not?
Thanks, Paul.

I agree it keeps freezing up my comp and i wish we had a option on it.
I love the snow - also love it in real life, too, - but it probably would be good to have an option for computers who have a hard time dealing with snow flurries. And I know some definitely have broadband problems.
I love the effect .. and it doesn't trouble my system at all. Thanks R for a little bit of Christmassy cheer :) Loved it last year .. love it this year :)

Love the snow, but it's not doing my laptop any good!
Could always change your theme if it's an annoyance ... I use Standard and there's no snow here ...
The "homework" pc has no problems, my laptop has no problems but the pc the kids use for playing DOS games struggles like crazy with it. I guess it's down to processor speed and memory.
Well I wish it could be Christmas at MLUKFC every day!

So let us rock out for christmas! ;)
2 things ...
The snow is nothing more than a DHTML/Javascript effect that moves up to 5 different images over your browser's display and nicely piles them up on the bottom. Once the script and the image are downloaded, there is absolutely no traffic generated by this animation. What may slow you down is the animation itself and that however depends on your computer and the browser you are using. On my setup, using Firefox, this animation consumes approx. 35% of the available cpu-cycles.
It's not that we don't listen to our guests, so, as of now, you may switch this animation off. Go here (http://www.mlukfc.com/forums/profile.php?do=editoptions), scroll down and select your desired setting. Please note that the default is Yes. See attachment for detail. :))
