This is the START OUT OF HELL & ARRIVE TO HEAVEN topic.
Let's Go to Rock 'n' Roll!!!!!!!

If God Could Talk (7)

The cleverest and most intelligent song on the album. I really love the lyrics but I really don't understand the tune. The music and the text are not in equilibrium, balance. The music should be more pathetic, mysterious and religious. I miss more effects and a longer song. This story is praying for a full story. I was written better songs in this style. ;)

My score: 7

Powerfull vocals from Meat override the second weakest song lyrically on the album, only Meat could make this one work I think ... 6/10

Like the 'did you swear to yourself...' etc part, and chorus...although when it gets to 'find yourself a life' I can't help but think of ELO's Diary of Horace Wimp when it has lyrics to that effect!
Erm...6/10

Album filler. Just a song. Nothing special. it is a shame it is on a Booh album.
Why they did not leave this one out and put a longer bad For Good, Its all coming back to me now, Cry for heaven & Future? I just don't understand like so many things with this album.
3/10.

Not bad but not great...have a feeling it wouldn't have done well as the first single from BAT III as was originally proposed.

I think this song is quite similar to Cry Over me in many ways. It's very emotional, very powerful, very angry lyrics. I think it's a great song, one of my favourites on the album. I hope I get to hear it live next year at Wembley.

Don't like this one. I tend to skip over it. As well as Cry Over Me - don't think it belongs here. It shouts out 'B-side' to me.

I am posting a review today on Bat 3. Its gonna be different than most. I learned something from TMIL. We can judge the content all we want, and we can opiniate how it sounds. Avoiding the name topic for obvious reaons.

But this song, itself.

Lyrically, it sounds as if the entire world is making an attempt to talk with the humans. The ones who are here, not only for themselves, but whom are supposed to be here for world and their fellow man.
Sometimes when I have this mindset, I listen to the music, and I can see the world slide, change shape to make things follow a plan for what is right. But its struggling. God, I like to believe is the universe, focused on our earth, and trying to get man, to look at things a little differently, so we can have our first chance at a Heaven On Earth. I'm picking up a strong theme from Desmond's Bat album. Yes I'm aware of how funny that last line sounds.

The song I would give 10 for what it made me feel. And because I am no differently than you, dare to look life in another perspective? Remember your own.

LOL, and I thought this was a love song for a girl!

LOL, and I thought this was a love song for a girl!

:D A love song for a girl from the pen of Desmond Child? He is gay... :D

And your point is????

Point of the song or the sexual identity? :-)

You think the song is about sexual identity???

White of High

No... RSG said that he thought this song had been a love song for a girl...
But Desmond doesn't write a love song for a girl because he is gay...

And that really matters, you think? He might not have written it with a girl in mind, but the message still remains the same. I mean, Melissa Etheridge's "Like The Way I Do" works both ways too.

What really would be an interesting question, is why mr. Child would write a song invoking God, with Him being anti-gay and all.
