I've just had an arguement via text after watching Miami........my colleague is of the opinion that Horatio is the man and I think that Grissom is king.

Be interested to know what you all think..............guess if you have to ask who they are then WHAT YOU BEEN WATCHING ON TV???????????

Not even gonna mention New York lol

How Dare You!!!

I am disgusted. How dare you even consider that anyone other then Gil could be considered the best CSI (although personally i wouild have put Eckersley on the poll!!!)

Grissom goes out and solves the crim,e using sciene and the application of knowledge whereas Horatio stands there like a twerp, removes his glasses, gazes vacantly int he middle distance where I can only presume a man is standing with a big "This is whodunnit card" and then says "This is what I think happened......" with no explaination or anything.

Mack is reasonable but much more police-y than Grissom.

Plus i shall never forgive Horatio for being so offhand and rude with Catherine in the episode where the kidnapped girl goes on the run from vegas in the everglades.

If Grissom has one fault, it is that he has never pulled his finger out adn got it on with the delectable CSI(2) Sidle. However Ms Fox has dropped several hints that in the filming of series 7 and 8, this changes. All one can hope ois that she waits for grissom when he leaves midway through series 7.

Since when did you beieve in beauty?

ever since i first met you

Horatio , David Caruso has played exactly the same character in this, NYPD Blue and Michael Hayes...but it's still cool. The hands on the hips are the best bit!

Besides my grandmother loves him and she's 80!

Grissom is definately the king of CSI but Warwick is definately the best looking guy out of all three series!! I would recommend watching it just for him!!

Did I imagine that bit at the end of the last series where Sara comes out of the bathroom in Grissom's bedroom, wearing a dressing gown? And he's lying on the bed wearing his?

If I could have voted for both Grissom and Horatio, I would have, but Horatio won out by a very slim margin. Why? William Peterson and David Caruso play their respective CSI chiefs with great skill and become Gus Grissom and Horatio Caine. But I think the story line involving Horatio's brother and sister-in-law and nephew and how he fought through that life happening nailed it for me on David Caruso's side. That wasn't an easy story to deal with, and the inner intensity he expressed so subtly most of the time hypnotized me. The deep feelings were there, but he held them in check when he had to.
Grissom is in the middle between Horatio and Mack. Grissom's heavy story that puts William Peterson as a very close second was when he was dealing with his growing deafness.
Poor Mack! He's good, too; Gary Sinise becomes Mack as well as the others are their CSI heads. Can't really say why he doesn't come closer in our votes.
Great photo of David Caruso as Horatio, Jo.

Nope...You Didn't image it.... I think they are going to have those 2 hook up....I would rather have Sara and Grissom then that Madame..... You know the one who's daughter got killed in the desert with the number branded on her. I love how she got back at the man by whipping him though....but anyway think Sara and Grissom are going to be a couple but behind closed doors for now.

Grissom is so odd but he´s the greatest..

I see VRG's arguement but that is the whole reason why i would choose Grissom over Horatio.

The whole ethos of the show whn it started was that the science adn stories were the king and the characters were merely playing for the benefit of the science. Sadly with Miami, we have seen the charcters becoming the main element of the show rather than the science. That is why Sara and the other one were written out for a short while after they started making money demands - no one is bigger than the science.

Also horatio only has two acting styles, asleep adn thinking - and I struggle to differentiate between the two.

It is Lady Heather you are referring to, and I, too, loved the revenge she gave that guy who killed her daughter - slow and painful, just what he did to her daughter. I think, though, that she and Grissom would have made an interesting couple. She is as smart as he is, and also capable of breaking through that thick emotional wall he has around him. Sara has a wall of her own, and two people each behind a protective wall usually don't get very far.

 I've heard this story before, and I of course disagree. I've also heard the characters vs the science debate, too. I think having these 2 CSI's emphasizing different sides offers a choice for us, and/or watching both to see both sides of being a CSI.

Couple of bits of probably useless information.......

CSI is shown in over 200 countries

It is watched by over 2 billion people making it the most watched television program

Welll.... I cant believe that there is ANY room for doubt. Horation Caine is one of the best characters ever created. The success of Miami far outstrips that of LV. Yeah, its great that Grissom has all that knowledge just there at the forefront of his mind at the right time.....(bit of a coincidence he just knows the most obscure stuff on the planet!), but he is clearly a dysfunctional individual , almost autistic...
Haoration may not get tot involved in the science of the lab but he trsusts his team and backs them up 110%. He is loyal and fair and cares about the people who he works with and the familiesd of the victims in a way that would FREAK Grissom out.
