A little s l o w for me but otherwise a really good effort. I've certainly heard and made alot worse mixes than that, he is a very difficult artist to mix so well done
yea, he IS. OMG He is! I also made a Paradise one and Took the Words one. Every week, I'm gonna make my own edit of a random meat loaf song and post it here on the Forum.
:D
Question: You say it is karaoke, but why is there for example in minute 4:50 Meat's voice?
No, its Vocal synced with the non- vocal stuff in the karaoke thing to introduce an EXTENDED Dry Eye. Its suppose to have meat's voice.
what software are you using?

ok let me help you clarify this..if you've done what i think
You have the karaoke version
You have the single or album version:shrug:
you have mixed the two together placing Meats vocals from the single in the places you think sound right.
Is that right?

It sounds very well.
Well done.
On my own, I love mixes.
But. How have you get the chorus?
Could you make me an extra job?:-P
Get IACBTMN from Bat III. Take only the voice, and remix it with IACBTMN from Jim Steinman.

I thought it meant a Steinman produced IACBTMN.....so either pandoras or Celines would do for me.....would love to hear Meats voice over the wind effects etc that Desmond seemed to leave out
I have a midi File of Its all coming back to me, but I don't have a Jim Audio Vocal Track. PLUS, I remixed with the Karaoke version, so Its impossible, unless I have the Steinman Track to work from.
I could make him duet with Clein Deon if I wanted to

...except that the Pandora's Box and Celine Dion versions are in a different key from Meat's, and have a different tempo.

That's why I can't do it, sadly........ :(

well you could bend the tempo but the pitch is the major prob
djfierce
09 Jan 2007, 00:41
i dont know much about your software but my dj software allows me to do a fair amount even bend the pitch but not as much as my decks.. i think forthe puter they are a bit too different..puter will only do 16% whereas i think prob 24 ish is required to do this  but without getting on the decks can't say for sure and with 8 month old babby i just dont have the time at the mo :(
lol if you havent managed it by the time i do i will let you know
hope this gives you some idea tho ;)

It would sound really all over the place with the constant key changes, you'd be going from F# to C every couple of lines. That's six whole tones higher and it wouldn't sound good.

i've mixed worse and gotten away with it wthout the audience looking weird at me ;)
I dont know technical terms but i have been dj-ing for just over 10 years now and 'just do it' if you know what i mean, don't know about the names of keys and stuff i just know what sounds right..with the right equipment and samples...it could be done
Can you Take out lead vocals, cause if so, email me non vocalized versoni of Bad For Good and IACBTMN to make some extended stuff

well you cant scrub them totally just 'dumb them down' (told you i dont know the technical names lol) but when i get a chance i will have a play and let you know

Ok its technical name is transfext, but close enough.
Here, I'll make my karaoke/Vocal mixes and well go from there. I only have limited song choices at the moment.

Does exist programmes that are be able to extract only music (karaoke)
But,.... to extract only voice?
That's the way to put meat's voice into Jim Steinman's version.
Or, is there any other way?

I did something like that a few times and (at least for me) itīs was a huge amount of work and in the end it still sounded not really great.
Youīd have to mix the voice out of the original (mostly the only mono thing in the song) and just leave the stereo parts. So the voice is much more quiet, although I wont disappear at all.
Then you have to at least make it to a difference of an octave (8), which would be easier than pitching it to the same from a 6-tone difference.
And then you have to change the speed of the voice (which you have to get the same way as just the instruments, only difference is you have to leave in the mono parts and cut out the stereo parts).
Though that still wouldnt sound very good, my version (two versions of a song called "Santa Maria") sounded like a choir of chipmonks in the end...lol
I'll stand with the Midi files and go from there.
