Came across this thought:

Do you know of any movies out there, where the actors are talking about Meat or his music?

In the movie Mortal Kombat: Anihilation, the character Jax says in one scene "It took off like a bat out of hell." It mightn't be an obvious reference but I couldn't help to think of the song when I heard this line.

In the movie "Jeepers Creepers", after the creature is killed, a guy opens an exibit that's sign reads.. "Come on in and see...The Bat Out of Hell". Which I thought was kind of cool. :)

In the show, the critic, a episode has people auditioning for a movie and a fat guy can't get on stage, so they use a crane. The Critic (John Levitt's voice), seeing this, states "well, here comes Meat Loaf"

I was in Tears.

In "Love Actually" there's a coversation explaining how there's someone out there for everyone, which prompted "Even Meat Loaf must have been laid sometime"

In "Bean" there´s a kid saying: "Hey, what's wrong with Meat Loaf's butt?"

In "Bean" there´s a kid saying: "Hey, what's wrong with Meat Loaf's butt?"

Yeah Paul Nichols is telling his family Bean will be staying with them, and his daughter is saying 'I bet he's ugly', and Nichols eventually has enough and goes sarcastically 'OK! So he's gonna look like Meat Loaf's butt!', then the boy says above.

He was mentioning in "Since You were Gone" on BBC1 last friday:

Nicholas Lyndhurst plays the dad allowing his kids to have a party while he takes his former mother in law out of the way of it.

Whilst laying down the rules he says : "And no borrowing my cd's for it"
To which his kids reply "No Meat Loaf - My god, we'll have to cancel the party"

I think this may have been sarcasm!

As to what counts and what doesnt:
I think it counts when the person who said it, had the intention of saying something about ML, not?

There's a British stand up comdian, Peter Kay, who wrote his own series about a really tacky social club. They had some kind of fund-raising thing in one episode and a guy being Meat rode onto the stage on a pizza delivery moped to look like BOOH - really funny

OK...this has nothing to do with movies...and yet...don't want to leave this out...

Started reading Jonathan Kellerman's Therapy. 2 references to Meat/Steinman before page 50! I was impressed.

1. Seize the night
2. They say...one out of two ain't bad...although not a direct quote...more than a direct reference!

Man asks woman what music she wants to listen to during supper. She lists a whole load of baby orientated songsand ends up saying 'and anything by the Sugarbabies'. The man replies 'What about Bat out of Hell?'
The advert was for Senatogen Pro-Natal (somehting you take before you become pregnant to help the baby).

Episode of ER titled 'I don't' (where Abbey and Luca get married) Luca surprises Abbey with the wedding and she says, referring to the venue, it is 'like being married in a Meatloaf video'.

Great idea for a themed wedding!
