A group called Wednesday (lol). They do try but there's no power in the voice, the efforts there with no real outcome if you know what I mean!

Bizarre name for a Meat Loaf tribute :?
They're a band in their own right, signed to Roadrunner Records with songs such as:
Rot for me
Elect death for president
House by the cemetary
I want you.........DEAD
Buried by xmas
My home sweet homocide
I walked with a zombie
The wolfman stole my baby
oh and one that sticks out:
Look what the bats dragged in
ok there are loads more but you get the general mood
Happy little bunch arent they :))

Well from the sampler's i have to agree. Pretty awful stuff just seem's like a pub band got together and stuck some Meat tracks on a cd.

Oh hell no!
I'm all for tributes and will support if that's what they want to do but I can't support this, and what has 'Wednesday' got to do with Meat Loaf:wtf: !

Is a shame, the guy's not got a bad voice all things considered, but the music is so cheap and shoddy; midi choirs, et cetera... I won't be spending £3.08p on this, although their other stuff sounds interesting, in an early-Tsunami Bomb kinda way... ;)
Is Wednesday 13 the same band tho?
They are not a Meat Loaf tribute band.
Roadrunner Records *coughs*
Devils! SIncerely... all they do is try to make money.
Mean and Desmond, please
avoid them like the plague.
How do I know this??
Nymphetamine and Nymphetamine (double disc) released less than year later <.<

Roadrunner used to do good in the world, but then I guess not anymore. The whole Wednesday 13 thing looks a little bit like a marketing excercise in that whole shock-rock-degenerate-glam-mock-horror subsubsubsubgenre... kinda like Coal Chamber were for nu-metal-techno-whatevers (remember them!!?)
I think I said before that they 'sounded' interesting, but I think I meant 'read' interesting cos I haven't heard, but I've got a funny feeling they are the musical equivalent of Ronseal.
Like I said before, record companies, gotta love em!
I'll upload somewhere when my cd arrives :)

i have a couple of their tracks and they are very pitiful :wtf: dont know how to pload etc but you guys will thank me for not doing so anyway ;)
And Emma they are not a tribute band, they are a band that have done a tribute album if that makes sense) they have lots of other useless crap writen by their drummer (i think )

Hang on a sec... I can't remember if anyone cleared it up for definite, but is Wednesday 13 (signed to Roadrunner Records) the same band as Wednesday who have recorded the Meat covers cd??
djfierce
18 Feb 2007, 13:47
i only know them as Wednesday. All my info says Wednesday too but it might be an old name for them i guess :?
Wednesday are also signed to roadrunner so i think it would be unlikely that roadrunner would have two bands the same name with just a number being the difference

Heard of the Murderdolls? One of their band members is called Wednesday 13, it's his band that gave us 'Look What The Bat Dragged In' etc, and as far as I can tell, they have no relation to the Meat Loaf cd... so who is this elusive band called, merely, 'Wednesday'...?
djfierce
19 Feb 2007, 11:17
well my track says 'Wednesday' performed 'look what the bat dragged in' so they seem to be the same band then
Cult Of Byron
19 Feb 2007, 15:17
Well I'd take official websites over dodgy track info any day of the week, but it's not really that important, lol, they're both pretty shoddy.
:D

19 Feb 2007, 16:35
fine have the last word:roll: ;)
i find it hard to believe there are 2 bands with the same name minus 2 numbers singing the same songs :?
i dont care either way
Cult Of Byron
19 Feb 2007, 18:04
Honestly honestly honestly, twas not about having the last word, I just hate misinformation and I think this is a case of that, Wednesday 13 change their name to Wednesday to record a Meat Loaf covers album... why not just keep their name as Wednesday 13? Plus, stylistically there's such a gulf in styles, vocals etc, to suggest that these are different bands...
Plus, there's no Wednesday on Roadrunners roster.
The numbers are not as insignificant as you suggest, Wednesday 13 is the name of the Murderdolls bandmember who went on to form that other band.
I think we can agree that both are dire tho, non?
djfierce
19 Feb 2007, 19:23
:lawl: yep
well i'm not so bothered about info especially when its about a band i could do without anyway ;)
so i'll leave it there :))
Okay, I have the CD, it is the 'Various Artisits - Tribute To Meatloaf' album that we have a Townsend and thats floating about. The track listing is just different.
djfierce
19 Feb 2007, 22:40
so are 'Wednesday' (with or without the 13) even on it?
Cult Of Byron
20 Feb 2007, 04:01
dj, wouldn't that just be the most hilarious thing if Wednesday or any 'king day of the week weren't even on there...?

djfierce
20 Feb 2007, 17:13
:lmao: i have to admit i would find it a little amusing :lawl: after all that ;)
Unless the bad has loads of different singlers, I'm guessing that 'Wednesday' are not the artists. It's all rather poo and they sing most of the lyrics wrong!
Cult Of Byron
21 Feb 2007, 13:28
Heck maybe they just all recorded the songs on a Wednesday or summit... well ****** me senseless if it isn't a Wednesday today, rofl!
