But the centre label is missing, so all you have is an annonymous platinum disc.

I can't remember who it was but I just recall reading about a singer who got a gold disc in the 80's. After many years of it hanging on the wall, they decided to play it to see what their song sounded like on gold.
Turned out it was a copy of Ultravox's "Oh Vienna" with a different label stuck on it!
