My Windows Media Player has no problems playing the videos on the German album

However it will not play the video on the UK single. It just freezes the program. If it is because I don't have the latest version of Windows Media Player then why can it play the videos on the German album with no problem?

In any case I am not taking the risk of installing new software just to play a video - fortunately the video on the UK single plays fine in "Real Player Basic"

The video on the single plays on my media player, but it runs slow and the sound is out of synch to the picture!!!!!!

I haven't seen the video yet, so I was really looking forward to this.

Well, never mind.....

I'm sure there's a link here some where I remember someone putting a post up about the cd not playing on the computer because it had been(whatever they do to them) to prevent copying or something - hope this helps

This is the error i get

Windows Media Player cannot find the specified file. Be sure the path is typed correctly. If it is, the file does not exist at the specified location, or the computer where the file is stored is offline.

And thats by browsing to find the file. Anybody got any idea. My Friends also having problems with his single. I've tried both CD Trays and got the same results. Nothing will accept this video file as it apparantly doesnt exist but it does!

I've had no luck playing it either.

RealOne player says that there are the three music tracks and that track 4 is a data track but it won't play it.

Media player won't even acknowledge its there.

Help... anyone?

I´ve got the same problem, and I have all new players.
At my neighbour the video doesnt work too.It seems to be a problem to a lot of people here in Germany.
Maybe some CD´s are not right and must be change in the shops.

Apparantly its supposed to be the copy protection but i dont think thats it. If you browse the CD You can see MEATLOAF.MPG but nothing will recoginise or open that MPG file.

Don't have any problem with the German disk, but about the English, don't know.

Looks like a problem with the player or video thingie!! Mostly when Windows Media Player has a problem, it will try to go on the internet and download a driver or stuff.

I suggest to download the newest version, that mostly fix the problem.

(maybe DVD players, for on you PC can do the trick??)

Hi guys! Still in the midst of making my little E-card but i keep popping in here sometimes. I'm sure this will sound like a stupid response, but there MAY be a chance the actual file has no data to it; although it's "There", its not actually THERE possibly, follow what i mean? The way to tell this for sure is, go into the Explorer to view what's on the CD (like in the folder, of the CD where the data is, sorry im not explaining this well), highlight the file that's supposed to be the Video (i mean click on it once but dont double click it or it'll attempt to launch and you'll get the errors again possibly), then look to see what the actual file size is, if its actually registering 0kb, that could very well be the problem and it was something in the manufacturing/duplicating end of things. OR i could very well be rambling like a twit, having been at this computer off and on all day, so i might not know what i'm talking about, but i figured it didnt hurt to mention! I mean well!! Besides, im awaiting my copies of the CD single and hope the problem is figured out before they arrive (i like that video!!)! :) ! Take care!!

The video on the German single plays perfectly using the older version of the Windows Media Player (7.1) and Windows ME, but it doesn't work using the newest version of the Windows Media Player (9.0) with Windows XP. So if someone is having a problem using the old version of the media player, unfortunately, I don't think upgrading to the newest version will help. It must something to do with the copyright ...

Don't think that it is. On a VCD you can't find the data, but it is still there, so that can't be it.
Think it is there, but only can find by a player program.

Maybe an email to the record compagny about it is a solution, they must know about it.

I'll check around. I'll find a solution i'm usually quite good on computers and can normally find a way round most problems. I'll see if i can download an old player or something

Isn't the extra CD with the videos and photos on it that comes with the CHSIB album (I got a copy from Germany) a VCD? Because if it is, i had no problem at all going in and "Exploring" -- I wanted to make sure what i was talking about might apply here before posting. There was one guy that posted that he tried the suggestion and his video had no kb data, so it could possibly be done (not sure since i dont have this particular single in my hands just yet, so its an innocent question!)? Just in case, here's what i did to view the contents of the extra CD with the album, i went to my "My computer" folder, clicked on the drive with the CD in it and was able to access it that way to check on the data. I guess if the extra CD with CHSIB, the album, isnt a VCD, then this is a bad suggestion, but again i hate the idea that you all might have dud CD's! Want you all to be able to see that cool video no problem! :) Hope you guys figure this thing out and I mean well!! Take care!!

JC- can you run that by me again.....in english

jcmoorehead
20 Apr 2003, 01:45
Lol sorry about my bad english im english

Right

1. Download ISO Buster
2. Put CHSIB Single in Drive
3. Run ISO Bust
4. Go to Session 4 on the CHSIB CD
5. Click on the ISO symbol and you'll see MEATLOAF.MPG and it'll have the icon of your default media player
6. Right click it and select EXTRACT
7. Select somewhere on your HDD and click ok
8. Wait about 5-10 mins
9. Go to that place on your HDD And open the Real MPG with Windows Media Player

It seems the actualy MPG is encoded within a fake MPG Which makes no sense but there you go.

Does the full CD bonus disk also need this? I've been trying to run the DIST video and it won't come up at all. I downloaded Isobuster with no luck so far. I'll work on it more tomorrow, unless someone here has some advice.

Erm, sorry....I guess I just needed to be a bit patient- the DIST video just popped up on my screen a few minutes after fussing with all the Isobuster mess. That's the first time I've seen the whole video- very cool. It certainly looked to be a bit expensive to make, with all the visual effects and all. Very nice.
