Considering the next two were released on the same day, which one you going for first? (There is a right answer!)

Strictly speaking you are right, but HT is the poor cousin musically IMO, so Lucky Town gets the nod from me.

I went with Human Touch first. I wish I were blind is beautiful. Just Real Man and Pony Boy to go then onto Lucky Town!

I agree- "I Wish I Were Blind" is a beautiful song; heartbreaking, even. I love "Roll of the Dice" too (co-written by Roy Bittan ;) ) Do yourself a favor and look up the solo piano versions of "Soul Driver" and "Real World"- they're stunning.

"Lucky Town" is usually considered the stronger album of the two, but I like them both. The title track rocks, "If I Should Fall Behind" is another beautiful song, as is "My Beautiful Reward". There's a performance out there of "Souls of the Departed" with Neil Young that absolutely smokes.

Both albums have some good songs.

Joad has some of his best storytelling; Highway 29 could almost be a movie. (Highway Patrolman from Nebraska actually was turned into one- it was called The Indian Runner). Best to listen to the album with the lyrics in front of you.

The Rising is one of my favorites.

The saddest song Bruce has ever written, IMO. :( Solo piano, especially: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xb1...c#.UcZfS9jNnYU
