I know :( And ITV doesn't air in British Columbia or i'd be glued to it ;)

wizardofodd 12 Feb 2010 23:00

Meat you should be very proud of the performance! Really loved it....you honestly sound great. Not sure if it was Live or maybe recorded and then slotted in at the end, unless they are very quick at getting the set on and off. Meat looked healthy, love to hear Bat sound differant.

We were watching different shows then.

Hand on heart Meat looks and sounds GREAT but imo that didn't work, did watch it thinking how much I wished that Patti was doing the female vocal

It'll be on YouTube soon, and if it isn't I'll put it on rapidshare here.

IMO, amazingly good. I knew it would have to be an abridged/reworked version, but the orchestral and operatic approach was something else. I had thought 'why not do a song off the new album?' considering how much the new album seems to be trying to get away from the whole 'Meat Loaf is Bat Out Of Hell' thing, but having heard that arrangement and how it fit in with that show, I was thoroughly impressed.

Meat, if you read this, you blew me away for whatever that's worth. One minor gripe - your duet partner's mic should have been lowered a little, or yours turned up. But she was great all the same, and the arrangement was fresh and conducive to the song. A fresh coat of paint on a song that I and probably everyone else on this forum have heard hundreds of times. It worked. It was fantastic.

For the person complaining about the opera singer not being Patti...well, you answered your own question. This is a show about combining pop and opera. This arrangement did that. A straight reading of the Bat we've all seen on tour wouldn't have had any relevance to the show. I can understand purists not liking it but still...may as well complain that Pavarotti didn't sound like Rory Dodd when they did Heaven Can Wait together.

One last thing...flabbergasted that Kym and Marcella were knocked out. I thought they'd be in the final for sure.

CarylB 12 Feb 2010 23:05

Marcella was robbed!!!!

But I wasn't .. Meat. you looked and sounded fantastic !! It was very different, special. Great powerhouse finish! Thank you.

Caryl

Nick

it was live!! 100%,, meat was great:D

wizardofodd 12 Feb 2010 23:06

The arangement was something i woudnt want to hear all the time. However i think it fitted with the show theme. I thought it was a nice one off. I didnt see it as Bat out of hell as it was so differant. With that aside, Meat sounded on top form IMO.

I know meat was singing live but may have been shot as live earlier and then slot in the end unless they were very quick getting him on and off the stage.

mjbo 12 Feb 2010 23:06

 performance

That's a shame about Marcella :( I really like her.

That dog was hunting!

Loved the arrangement, loved the voice.

Not 100% keen on Juliette, but hey 2 out of 3 ain't bad :))

Glad to see Bernie in the final too!
