I can sing Thomas the Tank Engine or Noddy for you if you like?

AndyK 04 May 2007 11:42

Lucky for you I don't know either of those tunes, so I don't have new brain worms running amok!

Does make the conversations in my office seem intelligent tho.........

Ageing Bat 04 May 2007 13:04

Just had a call about the 3 hour grilling meeting we had yesterday (more like taking an exam and not knowing the subject!!)...... not only did we impress enough to retain the work we currently do for our largest customer, we've also won 75% of a huge contract that was up for grabs !!!!!! YEAH!!

This week has to have been one of the hardest I've worked ...... ever, but after that call, oh so worth it.

What it means in real terms is that our jobs are safe (this time yesterday morning I had my doubts about that, I can tell you!), and that we anticipate considerable growth in the next 12 months.

So, my thoughts right now are........ PHEW!

Monstro 04 May 2007 13:27

"I believe that I will work with Jim again"
"We're planning another project"
"I was speaking to the attorneys before the show"

How the hell am I supposed to get any more work done today???????????????

geordieloaf 04 May 2007 13:28

RadioMaster 04 May 2007 14:37

Just back from the hospital, my father had an accident.

LucyK! 04 May 2007 17:17

Discussing Postman Pat in the office....we'll I'm not getting on any submarine you've built! :p

Yes Michael, a certain Smoggy was regretting eating cajun chicken when you called! The windows were almost wearing it!!!

My thoughts now are sudden realisation that I'm about to start the weekend and therefore my last days off before tour - lots to do!

RadioMaster 04 May 2007 18:10

back from the hospital again, turned out as not bad as I had expected...phew

Zina - don't know about down south but here in the North East the weather's been crap - cold wind and rain

duke knooby 04 May 2007 18:22

been great weather here, until tomorrow probably

AndyK 04 May 2007 18:25

Bank Holiday weekend, so it's bound to rain!

Oh my dear lord...I am NOT prepared for TWO different seasons...argh...

Thanks, Lucy...you're a real friend!

What kind of temperatures?

AndyK 04 May 2007 18:30

5 day forecast for London is 61 to 66 (17 to 19 celsius) degrees cloudy with sunny spells and rain on Mon & Tues.

That of course will be completely different in 3 weeks time, so stop panicing :p

duke knooby 04 May 2007 18:35

time for some grub

LucyK! 04 May 2007 18:40

Zina, that's what the weather's like here but I live in the North East - London in three weeks time will probably be completely different!

Got my outfit for the 23rd sorted and if I freeze I don't care because I like it!

mszee 04 May 2007 18:45

2 weeks time...how do you come up with 3 weeks?

In any event...our forecasts are all crap...that's why I am asking...you can LITERALLY hear announcer say that it's a beautiful day and you look out of the window and see pouring rain...and then you think...where the f*ck are you that you can't look outside your window???

Yeah...on top of me being not entirely ever present...when you say South...for some reason I think either of Florida or Alabama...doesn't help eh?

LucyK! 04 May 2007 19:00

I was scared there! It's three weeks right?! MEN week, Brum, Glasgow and Newcastle week then Wembley - that's 3!

Don't do that to me Zina!

mszee 04 May 2007 19:02

Well, I was asking for myself cause I will be there in 2 weeks exactly...in fact, the flight is on Friday after the next one...So...it's 2 weeks to inquire about the weather...since you are right there...you probably can tell your weather right now...just wanted to get an idea cause need to figure out if I have to buy another suitcase...

LucyK! 04 May 2007 19:05

Andy doesn't know yet but he might have to bring an extra suitcase up for me too! :p

AndyK 04 May 2007 19:07

Andy had already planned on it :p

LucyK! 04 May 2007 19:10

Andy's a star :p

Sorting starts this weekend so I'll let you know lol

Well, I don't even have an extra suitcase...so...all I have is 2 weekends left which are already kind booked with crap...somewhere in between I have to sneak out and buy a new suitcase if there is a need for 2 season's clothing...

I just managed to silence Michael! :lmao:

Monstro 04 May 2007 19:56

Calling your car "Meat the Metro" was not worth a reply!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Monstro 04 May 2007 19:56

and "Meat the Micra" isn't any better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

mszee 04 May 2007 20:03

How about just Bentley? Or Rolls Royce? Would that work better?

LucyK! 04 May 2007 20:10

There's nothing wrong with Meat the Micra....Michael's just jealous that I drive a true Meat Machine! :))

Though I'll admit that perhaps calling my old Metro "Meat" was a bit of a piss take - bloody thing almost killed me! Twice!

Ahhh...he was talking about YOUR car...thought he was talking in general...is Metro anything like Smart car? The one where you sit in the car and your legs are kinda sticking out and you keep on turning the steering wheel but, in fact, you are walking your car with your own legs? At least that's how it looked to me...

The first time I saw Smart Car was Da Vinci Code...I took one look and said...what the heck is THAT???

LucyK! 04 May 2007 20:23

A Rover Metro (I think) is a great little "run aroudn car" - great for popping into town or a local drive to work, but that's about it. They're old and cheap.

I had one for my first car, the brakes failed

I hope you weren't in it when it happened...

My previous car was MAJOR LEMON...Ford Contour 1995...it was a nice car...who knew it was the first year Ford was producing those and they had TONS of problems...just about everything went wotn with that car...it only stopped when I bought an extended warranty and paid a bunch of money for that cause I got tired of paying per pop :lmao:

The best part was when I am in the middle of busy intersection and I can't turn my steering wheel anymore...not at all...some frigging fluid whatever kept on leaking and finally completely leaked out...what fun!!!!

I certainly was! I was going downhill to a T-junction which joins a national limit road and the brakes went! I can only be thankful that nothing was coming along that road as they would have driven straight into my driver's door!

Managed to get it another 10 miles without the brakes though!

However, that leaves me a full day to do "sorting", so by the time I go to work tonight I should have all of my tour outfits sorted...
