I just watched Pan's Labyrinth. It was awesome! But I cried my eyes out at the end.

RoknRollJesus 15 Oct 2008 17:09

QUARANTINE - it was alright. Not very scary imo.

The Incredible Hulk. Waaaaaaaaay better than the one they made a few years ago. But not as good as Iron Man

I nearly bought that on Woolies the other day... Think I might have to pick it up tomorrow... Don't tell Richard, he thinks I have too many DVDs as it is...

Burn after reading

Probably the worst movie I´ve ever seen!!!!

samurai7 16 Oct 2008 02:07

really? that's had amazing write-ups here. not seen it though.

Hypnobabe 16 Oct 2008 09:04

The Incredible Hulk - have to go and get Iron Man now...

AndrewG 16 Oct 2008 09:49

I Am Legend.
Seen it before and think it's a good film, well done, well told etc. Will Smith is pretty good in this imo.

The alternate ending on the disc is stupid though and forgettable.

Sarge 16 Oct 2008 16:39

Plan 9 from Outer Space - the most hilarious trash I've ever seen.

Iron Man is awesome. One of the best comic-book adaptations I've seen, right up there with X-Men 1 & 2

dominion

total crap, couldnt stand watching it for more than half an hour.

RadioMaster 16 Oct 2008 21:53

The Exorcist 3

thought it was quite watchable, but more as a crime movie, than a horror movie, with the exeption of the (strange) ending.
The connection to the original movie was a little far fetched though, and hard to believe or even understand completely.

After seeing all the 5 Exorcist movies I can say that the first one truly is a great film, with a unique idea, but to milk the same idea to make 3 (4) sequels was not a very good idea. They should have rather come up with some more original ideas, instead of (more or less) copying the first movie every time.

An Indian film called Water which was a very harrowing incite to how widows were once treated in India and what I found even more shocking were half these ladies were children when they had an arranged marriage and in this case it focused on this seven-year-old and it was very sad.

I'm currently watching the brilliant 'Arlington Road'.

Oh god...that is for me scary movie...

RadioMaster 17 Oct 2008 21:41

GunShy

a lot better than I expected. They trailers implied it would be some action thriller (a la Die Hard), but it's been a melancholic story about a failed writer and his friendship to a gangster.
The Loaf had only a small appearance, he didnt die, but at least he got beaten up quite heavily :D

Hypnobabe 17 Oct 2008 22:53

bad boys - in the sense that it was on in the bedroom while I was cleaning the bathroom...

AndrewG 18 Oct 2008 03:10

Firewall (2006) with Harrison Ford.

Not great but quite watchable I thought, certainly worth while. Story slightly awkwared in places and not sure about the title at all.

Hypnobabe 19 Oct 2008 12:34

Nacho Libre on Saturday morning, and The Man With Two Brains last night...

Skeleton 19 Oct 2008 15:24

Diamonds are forever

I like those mr. Wint and mr. Kidd.. They had nice one-liners..

mszee 19 Oct 2008 17:50

Prisoner of Zenda (1952)...they were making unnecessary remakes as far back as 1952...

RadioMaster 20 Oct 2008 17:05

Flight Plan

very good, had no idea what to expect at the beginning.

followed by: Panic Room

disappointing. Especially for a Fincher movie. I'm usually a fan of his films, as youve got this dark, nightmare-ish atmosphere, and an incredible camerawork, but nearly nothing of that was noticable. Instead of that you had tons of unnecessary computer animations, that didnt do anything for the story or the mood (see the torch scene). Would have expected more from DF.
IMO it would have been a lot better (and more atmospheric) if they hadnt told the (back)story of the burglars. If they had just been some dark, silent menacing people, the atmosphere would have been a lot darker, and better.

Idea: great, execution: lame
