Meat Tweets

to those who've said they check daily for new Meat Tweets, no you're not alone, I do the same thing :) Meat's been very generous with his time in sending us all these videos, and I really appreciate it as I know we all do :)

the loafs back, and brian with some nice chords

Sarge 06 Oct 2009 01:12

Brian May is just fantastic! That little piece of music definitely is a reason for me to buy the album, although I don't know what the CD will sound like yet. I can only repeat what Meat Loaf said in one of the videos: "C'mon Brian, a little bit more."

Vickip 06 Oct 2009 02:38

And now we know why it's been a while
Thanks again for all of the updates Meat !! I'm so glad to hear you're enjoying working on the CD ... and I can be very cool and patient :))

RSG 06 Oct 2009 03:50

haha, All of them have lost their minds! I love it! Meat introduced a man who wrote a song called " Like a Rose. " Which to me sounds like more writers are being involved. There could be more than 15 tracks! The Meat bits of music we have heard are very cool! And congrats Doug and his family!

I know Suzie, it was great to get up this morning and see those couple of tweets from Meat, it really brightened up my day. Can't wait to get home and see if there's some more.

Oh my, it rained tweets today! So glad to see Meat back at the twitter's helm. That was like the cherry-on-top of my day. I had a fabulous day beginning at the crack of dawn and now to see Meat all relaxed, having fun, swearing, and "killing it" was the cherry-on-top of it all.

And hopefully with the gang in town, Meat can get a tweet out while they are doing their part in studio.

Sidebars: I'm excited for Adam's album coming out in Nov. too. Congrats to Doug for his new arrivals (lacking a little sleep is he???).

I was having the same problem. They're MP4 video files, and should start playing automatically with Quicktime. Have you tried re-installing your Quicktime player ?

And yes, the tweets are great !
Vicki

RSG 08 Oct 2009 01:46

Great.. and very random!

PanicLord 09 Oct 2009 23:09

I think the randomness is a big part of what makes them great! Really good to hear Meat enjoying himself.

I think he sounds a lot better (less difficulty breathing, less scratchy voice) when talking, so maybe all the vocal coaching and the better health is making the vocals he's producing come more easily and sound fantastic, and that makes it more fun - ie less of a chore?

You really could only hear the song very faintly on the recent twitters, but from what I could hear, I'm excited...

suzieq 11 Oct 2009 04:25

Meat's enjoying himself and his smile and laugh are contagious. I find myself giggling along at him and da' boys. I'm just going to sit back and wait...hanging patiently and cool.

CC has tweeted and she's coming to town to do her part. Joe L. has facebooked a positive status about the album. There's bound to be more generous tweets, but I shall leave greatness alone to work on the masterpiece.

Busting at the seams happy,
Suzieq

Vicki

Since I got tired of different video file formats and the various players you have to use to watch them I installed VLC media player. It plays almost any format. You just have to enter the URL.

OMG, I just noticed that YouTube automatically translates all the video titles into German for me now!!! :wtf: In case you speak German, read this and have fun:

"Fleisch stellt einige der Paramore Bande"
"Eric Vetro Tropfen ins Studio"
"Fleisch schießt Rob produzieren und die Band Aufnahme"
"Fleisch-Kontrollen mit James Michael und Rick Brantley"

Good lord... :lmao:

I've got the same problems, I can't watch the videos since they're in that new format. None of my players can read them.
Are they hosted on another website, like they were on Youtube before? Maybe I could see them there.
Thanks a lot for your answer

Florence, try what Vicki said, it seems to have helped others.

florence75015 13 Oct 2009 23:04

Thanks a lot Suzanne. I've tried the Quicktime Player too, but it doesn't work either, probably because my computer is too old and can't download the appropriate tools.

I'm afraid I will have to read your posts to know what's in the tweets instead of watching them.

What kind of problem do you encounter exactly? Have you already installed Quicktime or does the installation of the tool itself fail? Any error message? What happens (or does not happen) when you try to play the video? How "old" is your PC exactly? Maybe you can provide some info regarding your system (operating system, how much RAM, CPU speed, browser version etc.), so that we can do some troubleshooting. :-)

I've mentioned VideoLAN's VLC media player before, it works fine for me, saved me a lot of trouble with Quicktime, Meat's MP4 files ;), other video files, codecs etc.

A workaround would be to save the files to your HDD and use a converter in order to transfer them to a more convenient format that can be played via a media player that runs on your computer.

I wish they'd stick to one site and one format when it comes to the videos. Don't know why they currently upload some to YFrog / Imageshack and none to YouTube. :?

Vickip 14 Oct 2009 00:21

I hadn't thought of a VLC Media player ... that may actually work better :-)
I was wondering exactly the same thing about YouTube .... I wish they would go back to posting the videos on there.

Sarge 14 Oct 2009 00:49

Having all the videos on YouTube would not only be more convenient, I also believe that it might work better with regard to promo. YouTube is extremely popular, a lot of people look for Meat Loaf videos there (not only die-hard fans) and they might stumble upon the "twitters" (:))), learning that a new album is being recorded.

florence75015 14 Oct 2009 00:59

Thanks Sarge for having taken the time to write me so complete an answer.

Concerning Quicktime, I've got the player and it works with other stuff. But with Meat's vids, I've got first a white screeen with the blue drawing at the middle (just as if it was uploading) for a few seconds and then it turned into a little icon picturing the blue thing broken.

I've got Windows and Real media players but I guess my problem comes from my computer which is both too full and too old and therefore I can't upload the latest versions of the players. My Windows version is just out of date, I'd be ashamed to name it  Too bad for me...

Thanks again for having tried to help me.

Florence

suzieq 14 Oct 2009 04:08

Florence,
I hope it all sorts out for you. Suggesting a library computer may allow you to view the tweets? However, you may need to bring a pair of headphones for sound. Sometimes our library computers don't have speakers (due to noise levels).

Suzieq

florence75015 14 Oct 2009 14:45

Thanks for the suggestion Suzanne. Indeed watching the vids from outside my house seems the only solution.

I get the same .. my computer isn't that old and has plenty of space, and when I try to download the "latest" version it just informs me I have the latest version, so I'm in the same boat. My Quicktime works with other stuff too.

Caryl

Sarge 15 Oct 2009 01:10

Maybe this works: Download the files to your computer (right-click the link, select "save target as") and try to open them locally. Don't know if that solves the problem since I use VLC and haven't updated Quicktime in ages but maybe you're lucky.

Given the fact that numerous people seem to have to trouble to view the recent videos, I hope they'll decide to upload them to another place where they are better accessible.

Vickip 15 Oct 2009 01:11

Tonight I tried saving the videos directly to my computer (as MOV files) ... they worked better than playing them directly on Twitter. I still haven't tried using a VLC player, but I'm using a Quicktime player version 7.6.2.

You and I must have been posting at the same time :-P
I downloaded the files directly to my computer tonight, and they worked better than trying to watch them directly on Meat's twitter page.

I agree ... I wonder if it could also be a problem with Twitter being busy :??:

Yeah Carole, I almost fell over my computer when I returned from the gym to see a list of new tweets. Importantly, I'm glad to know the gang is all accounted for plus one (Georgia). I took her for an Aussie. She had a slight Aussie accent. Oh and Patti is hysterical too. Looks as though she's twitter shy. LOL. She even called Meat an S.O.B.

Glad the atmosphere is lite (no pun intended to the white spotlight tweet) and fun.

The song you hear in the new videos - that's the one Rick Brantley and Meat sang in the "jam session" clip, isn't it? Had to listen to the last 5 seconds of the "it's not metal" clip over and over...

Devil's Son 17 Oct 2009 15:12

I haven't said a word for a long time but as Sarge did I listen to the last 5 seconds. It sounds like something new, poweful and just good to me. This time I really liked what I heard.

Man, Me Too!

it sounds great!!! ive always had a feeling that this album will not only be different, but totally new!! its brave and fair play to him:D

Yea, that last 5 seconds sounds really great. Meat sounded clear and better than he has in the last few years. I'm REALLY excited

Only 5 seconds, but holy rocking casbah that is awesome. The growl in Meat's voice is the first thing I notice. But its accompanied with a real powerful sound. A booming surge of thunder! Meat wasn't watering it down when he said this was going to a rocking album!

background vocals when 5 of them are standing in a row singing, "carry me to my grave!" i think it is very trippy. a exciting and strange time to be a Meat Loaf fan. I'm bursting out happy to the fullest to know what Doug, Covallo, Meat Loaf and crew have come up with. I was never around for the Bat 2 expeirience. But this one for me makes me feel somewhat it would have been like iin 1993. Call me over the top if you want, but I';m friggin' ecstatic!

Does sound awesome, Meat seems to be in top vocal form. Can't wait to hear more!

I wonder why you post this here, yet over there you refer to it as 'Bullshit in A China Shop'

Let's not drag arguments from other places onto here please.

RSG 19 Oct 2009 00:57

I won't defend myself. However I hope that a few of you understand I'm pro-this new record. Also Pro-Meat Loaf and Jim Steinman. As a pair or on their own. Draw your own conclusions if you dare! I'm healthy, just wiierd. I'm sure other opinions could branch from there. I would read them with a smile on face. And when I'm done, it is probable I will still have a smile on my face.

I'm starting to connect the dots between the clips like Sarge. A clip from a while ago paired with the clip from "it's not metal" and "carry me to my grave". I love what I hear and I can't wait to sink my teeth into this CD. Metaphorically of course.

In the back of my head I am wondering if the piano song by Meat/Hugh Laurie was recorded already. But for sure, I am so excited as well busting at the seams happy for Meat.

I was wondering that about the piano song too. And like you, I'm really excited and extremely happy for Meat right now :))
