The Post Office really do provide a fantastic service.

Just had a Christmas card delivered, almost 2 months late according to the postmark!

I'm glad its not just me then!! I just spent 20 mins on their crappy customer services phone line trying to speak to someone!! One of my little old ladies was sent something without a stamp so they put a card through the door, you put the stamps on it cos you have to pay £1 handling fee as well sent it back and they send you your letter but some muppet has sent her the card back instead!!

I sent a Steinman shirt to someone back in November; it arrived 2 months later. All the ones I sent out of the country arrived quite quickly ...

Well that was an eventful day, got a phone call yesterday from work asking me to do a 2-6 shift only when I got there, there was already Leah and Adam there, Leah asked if I was meant to be there and I said Lisa called me yesterday to come in today but as it turns out seems she made a mistake so I came home. On the plus I met this gorgeous black 10 week old labrador puppy called Frank, he was so soft and playful .

~Helen~ 19 Feb 2009 18:26

there are so many times people have sent me things and ive not received them. they'll assume as ive not said anything that its arrived ok (and presumably that i'm just ungrateful), and if i know someone's sending something but not when they're sending it i don't like to contact them asking if they've sent it because i've not received it in case they've not sent it and feel i'm being ungrateful and nagging. see i can't win here!

on the other side, if i've sent things to people and they've not mentioned it, i don't like to ask if theyve received it for fear of appearing i'm prompting thanks.

i have an ex colleague who used to work for royal mail some time before he came to be working with me. he advised never to send anything in a package that will 'roll' (likely to be used as a football) or anything that could double up as a sword / lightsabre.

allrevvedup 19 Feb 2009 21:56

we get hundreds of stories about royal mail and how slow they are delivering things, so nothing surprises me...

in other news, had a consultation for a laser eye surgery company that is not going to go out of business...so it's set for the 6th march, costs a bit more then what optilase was working out at but i trust these guys more and plus my vision is crap at the moment:)

firefly 20 Feb 2009 01:39

had a job interview today and now i cant sleep coz i'll know tomorrow if i have got the job.

fingers crossed!

MissAsh 20 Feb 2009 02:05

Missing my gorgeous little budgie so much, can't believe it's been almost a fortnight now :( still got my cockatiel though thankfully which makes it a little easier.

Good luck, Mike!!!

I have no idea who can complain about Irish mail...I get things faster from Ireland then from CA...much cheaper too...

AndyK 20 Feb 2009 12:47

It's only taken 17 years but my employers have finally got all my details right on the new business cards they've issued to me! :yay:

(Which probably means I'm about to be sacked :lmao:)

daveake 20 Feb 2009 12:54

In my first job, my title got truncated. Apparently I was a "Development Engine"

AndyK 20 Feb 2009 12:56

It has been handy having incorrect details on a card ... giving salesmen incorrect contact details means the junk mail and hard sell phone calls don't arrive :))

MeatGrl1 20 Feb 2009 13:07

I'm tired !

Better get my skates on as it's just gone 12PM, working today 2-6.
Think or hope I will be in bed alot earlier tonight.
Room is such a mess, can never find the right time to sort it though .

Useful :-). One place I worked they had a fake employee name to use where appropriate on forms etc. Then if anyone called asking for this person, they just said he's not in today :-)

This guy doesn't seem to appreciate having the wrong name on a letter (and I wonder how he knew!)
