Had two pretty bad scares with members of the family...but thank god turned out to be scares mostly...

Thanks for your support...sitting in American emergency room for hours can do a number on a person...

The main thing stopping me doing my job is the amount of training, and subsequent work involved, they give me so I can supposedly do the job.

Thank you...everything is ok now...besides my head...it was a bit too much to handle...so I am crazier than usual...if it's possible, of course...

I made the mistake of asking Serge what he wanted for his birthday (i thought all men wanted the same thing lol!!) He said a Napolean cake, i google it and the recipe starts off saying this fantastic 15 layer cake!! I dont really cook and i cant actually remember the last cake i cooked, i must have cooked one at school!! Wish me luck, there will be photos one way or another!!

Plan B is to hide the evidence and go to the shop in the morning and get any cake lol!!

duke knooby 16 May 2009 15:21

time for bed

SamCat 16 May 2009 17:19

Ok i'm hoping a Russian Napolean cake is 15 pancakes layered together with thin custard cos that seems to be what i've made!! And on the website it said 2 hours to do and it took me 4 with only 2 teabreaks lol!!

Russian Napoleon cake is the best cake in the world!!! Yours looks right - I think Russians do it mostly in a square/rectangle form to make it easier...I was never into it but my cousins make fantastic ones...on the other hand...we have a Russian bakery here...lol...

So I went to Leonard Cohen's concert yesterday...packed Radio City Hall! I wouldn't bore anybody with long reviews but it was absolutely fantastic and nobody sings his songs like Leonard Cohen!

And here are his lyrics that fell into my heart and I want to share with all of you...

"Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering...
There is a crack, a crack in everything -
That's how the light gets in."

duke knooby 17 May 2009 18:45

how was leonard???

A little sad to see him sort of frail-ish...I mean...he is 76 years old...but voice rang out through the entire venue as it used to...and it's rather large venue...band was fantastic...multiple instruments for everybody...one back up singer even played harp...and I haven't known but he had a co-writer for some of his songs and she was there too...beautiful voice...

duke knooby 17 May 2009 18:52

excellent, glad you enjoyed :D

Betty 17 May 2009 19:04

mszee 17 May 2009 19:06

OMG...I just remembered the most hysterical lyrics line from Ace of Base...

"Every time it rains, I get wet..."

:lmao:
