Have just been told by a friend I've known for years that he "has feelings" for me. I feel really ill.

And that probably was a reason you were friends for so many years...

So what am I supposed to tell him? How do I tell him firmly without upsetting him but without leaving any doubt in his mind that I'm not interested. :(

Very simple...say what it is...you always thought of him as a friend...and never had any other feelings or ideas...and that you would hate to loose him as a friend...and if he really has feelings...you will not loose him...but if he doesn't...then it was never worth it...

Woah! Good answer. I would never have thought of it like that. I'm very bad at being good with words.

Are you serious or you're making fun of me???

JanT 15 Oct 2006 00:55

I'm serious Zena. I handle sensitive stuff like a a rock swims. I have neither tact nor diplomacy.

I have way too much...you want to meet in the middle?

JanT 15 Oct 2006 01:03

lol I text him what you posted. He hasn't responded yet. (He's in Sheffield, I'm in Blackpool)

mszee 15 Oct 2006 01:04

Give him a time to digest it...distance is not an issue here...time is...

ChoccyBat 15 Oct 2006 01:18

From a bloke's perspective (who did the very same thing as your friend has) the key is to make it clear. It is better to be honest and upfront, rather than make excuses that leave him feeling their is still the possibility. Honesty is always best in the long run!

mszee 15 Oct 2006 01:20

That was exactly my point...

Trust me... I won't leave him in any doubt, but I am to sensitivity as Club is to Egg.

Sometimes being overly sensitive just hurts...consider yourself lucky

Bored.

Itchy.

Sore.

Veiny.

Overexcited.

Definitely not hungry.

Why are musicals always taped on cd, but not on dvd? Would be a good business idea.
