438 thread since 07. wow.

Aint that typical. We have nice sunny hot summer weather over here for the last week, then for the first game of the series for the Aussie V England women its raining....... typical! Still really hot & muggy though, but nothing will dry out.

437 of them have probably been created by you alone!

It's a great feeling to have the big order grocery shopping done and the cabinets full !

For anyone thinking of replacing their standard George Forman grill with one with removable plates...

DON'T!
  • Fat dribbles all down the back, so not only do you have to wash the removable plates, you then have to go back and clean the whole thing anyway thus there is more to clean than before!
  • There is a bigger gap in the side, so fat splatters out
  • It doesn't get as hot as the standard version, so your food will take longer to cook
  • They only provide one fat catching thingy instead of two, so there's nowhere handy to rest your tongs!
I thought my old George was a great piece of kit, but this one makes me want to get the frying pan out! :wall:

Rant over.

I actually got one of the ones with removable plates now. Pretty good in my opinion, had it for about 1 1/2 years. Think it's the 12205 one that allows you to change the temperature (why I have no clue it's always set to 170 on mine).
I agree you sometimes have to clean behind the grill etc., but for me it's never been too bad, almost all the fat goes where it supposed to.

It's not perfect but then trying to clean a grill without being able to remove the plates is a fricking nightmare and you end up using rolls of kitchen paper, unless you've found another way of doing it?

My eye surgery went fine yesterday ... I have a followup appointment later this afternoon. Fingers crossed I won't need to have a cornea transplant :-)

I bought a £10 Tesco's-own one. Best thing ever. So easy to use, and clean. I use it for almost every meal.

lol

I just had the most amazing minted lamb steaks from mine. Very nice indeed! and half the time to cook than under a traditional grill.

The Flying Mouse 06 Jan 2011 21:51

 I was looking to get a bigger George Foreman, but I might take a look at the Tesco one next time i'm in there.

AndrewG 06 Jan 2011 22:14

Is this the £13.99 one we are talking about?

samurai7 06 Jan 2011 22:16

it was a tenner when I bought it, about 6 months ago

daveake 06 Jan 2011 22:21

£9.97 earlier today :-). There is a larger £13-something one but no stock.

Dear God,

You give us John Lennon, We'll Give you Justin Bieber,

You Give us George Harrison, We'll give you Hannah Montana.

Pleeeeeeassseeee God?

If I were to choose I'd probably opt for Freddie Mercury and Elvis though...

Thanks gosh its a different story in the Womens ODI series.... I just got home from the 2nd game of a best of 3 series.

http://livescores.cricket.com.au/summary_2578_2.html

Meg Lanning, simply brilliant, plus plays my big 4 shot to bring up her 100 straight through covers! Plus WA girl Rene Farrell with a couple of wickets.... if I ignore the mens games I am a very happy Australian, he he he. We win the series.

duke knooby 07 Jan 2011 15:57
