CHRISTMAS CRACKERS??
For those who enjoy Christmas Crackers as an essential part of the Christmas celebrations Loafdom Direct can offer easy assembly cracker kits with great gifts included. They are packed flat, include the snap, and all you need to do is roll them up, and pop in the supplied hat, joke, and gift. We can offer a pack of 4, including these gifts: One key-chain One bookmark One silver plated necklace with large butterfly or skull pendant (your choice) One silver plated bracelet with 3 turtle charms They will sell for $14 plus postage rate as our jewellery collection (representing well over $20 value). As we have to buy in the cracker kits we will need firm promised orders, and need to know by the end of this week in order to get them out to you in good time for Christmas. Please post here or PM me if you would like to order. Caryl http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/d...le/Cracker.jpg |
And I have managed to find a better source for the crackers themselves so we can offer a kit that makes 8 for $20 |(just double up the items above) Makes them great value!!

CHRISTMAS CRACKERS??
If Christmas Crackers are news to you, we share something because until Caryl mentioned them to me, this American had never heard of them. And, even then, I thought they were something one ate! Caryl's Loafdom for the Turtle duties keep her far busier than do mine as a rule, so I'm going to give a capsulized version of Caryl's explanation to me of the Christmas Cracker. Okay, I thought I was until I tried to remember everything Caryl told me! What follows was taken from an ad on the internet I found for Party Crackers: "Crackers" are decorative party favors widely used in Great Britain to celebrate a variety of special occasions and festive events. They consist of a beautifully wrapped and decorated cardboard cylinder containing a paper crown (tissue party hat), a motto (British joke or riddle), a snap (popping device), and a small gift or novelty item. At dinners and parties, crackers are used to decorate individual place settings and are usually opened prior to serving the meal or refreshments. The pulling of crackers and donning of the party hats creates a relaxed, festive atmosphere certain to get any party function off the ground. Crackers provide a colorful and exciting start to any celebration, and also present each guest with a gift by which to remember the days events. At Christmas, crackers make great tree ornaments, stocking stuffers, and welcoming gifts for visiting friends and relatives." I'm thrilled at the idea of introducing my family to the traditions of another country, and as Caryl has noted, the gifts to be included with our Christmas Cracker four (4) pack: One key-chain One bookmark One silver plated necklace with large butterfly or skull pendant (your choice) One silver plated bracelet with 3 turtle charms are hardly shabby little tokens!! If interested, please take special note of Caryl's message concerning time constraints, etc., and the need to either post here or PM her if interested. Thank-you on behalf of all of us at the Loafdom for the Turtle. :D Sue |

Whenever I've spent Christmas in the US I've always taken crackers with me .. and my US guests have loved them :) I've used the kits for years now, putting small gifts in hem. This year I shall be putting Loafdom silver in them .. much nicer than the plastic compasses and play "rings" that tend to be the standard gifts in the ready made ones these days :)
They're dead easy to make up as all the work has been done, save rolling the into a tube, fitting the cardboard "lugs" into the slots, squeezing them where the cut out bits are to make the cinched in ends .. just pop the hats, jokes and gift in before you squeeze the second end. Takes less than a minute a cracker, and the snap is usually already stuck to the inside. Then on Christmas day you hold one end, the person next to you grasps the other ... you both pull.. and BANG!! .. and the cracker pulls apart and out pop the hat, joke and gift :) We used to make them with crepe paper, loo roll tubes in the centre, and two tubes, one twice the length of the other, having to twist the paper and fasten it .. lol .. but this is much easier :) Give them a try .. and you'll find they become a part of your Christmas :) And you can always substitute a small toy or model for one of the gifts in the kids' ones and keep the necklace for yourself .. lol Caryl |

I don't know, Deena, but for me, things get old. Of course, that makes them "traditional", but I like to also try to keep things fresh and exciting, even if it's just changing the lights on the Christmas tree from one year to the next. And believe me, people notice, especially our little ones. I am going to order the Crackers because of course the purchase will help the kids of The Painted Turtle, but I also think they sound like fun, and I think it's important for our kids (in my case, our grand-kids), to be aware that there are other ways of doing things - that what we do is not the be all and end all of things! Something that's especially neat about this Christmas is that our 1 1/2 year old grandson, who is 1/4 British and who has lots of family in England, is spending this Christmas with his dad, our son, and this coincidentally will be our first year with the British tradition. :D Thanks for sharing, Caryl! Sue |
Have ordered my crackers, at last a cracker that has a gift in i want ! LOL...Many thanks Caryl :)

A pic of the sterling silver necklace with wolf charm, fantastic quality, superb prices, check out LFT ! Get yourself a Christmas pressie, or treat someone you love ! |
Thanks Michelle :) So glad you like them. They do look good don't they? And how can you beat a hallmarked silver bracelet with a Pandora clasp for $10.50? That's about £6.50 ...
Caryl |
So good that i have ordered one for my 16 year old God daughter for Christmas ! Thanks Caryl ! :)

My Pandora bracelet arrived yesterday and I really love it. Now I've just got to decide what charms I'm going to put on it. :D

Our Pandora sterling necklaces are now on line. Just $17, or a tad over a tenner in the UK. These are fabulous, hallmarked silver, and check Pandora out on the net; they retail for up to 8 times the price!! Sophisticated, all the rage, silky smooth, and in 3 different lengths. They make the perfect gift for you, a loved one, or anyone you want to give a great gift to at a very low price. You'd be hard pushed to find a silver plated one for this price :)

I've been doing Christmas shopping, but the problem is that everything I buy as a gift, I have to buy for myself too! Makes it a little hard on the budget, but I have to say that I just love everything we've got! :weee: We do appreciate your support. :-D Sue |

The man says it all :) Five crystal charms on a chain necklace for under $8, or on a slender snake chain for $8.50; or a wolf with the red roses combo from $6.40 on a necklace. For the next 3 weeks we can post overseas in good time for Christmas, whether it's a budget priced great looking gift or a solid sterling Pandora bracelet or necklace for the amazing price of $10.50 or $17.00. That's £6 (2 boxes of After Eights!) or a tenner if you're in the UK .. and you know a sterling bracelet will look better on the wrist than the After Eights will on the hips! .. lol And postage is just $3 flat overseas, however much you buy, and in the UK just 68p .. less than the bus fare to the shops! And we're not simply about jewellery .. we have keychains and bookmarks for just $4 Caryl |

Thanks! |
We are talking real PANDORA sterling here. The real deal from a generous supplier who recognized our need for the best price possible as a charity organization.
As Caryl once described the necklaces, they are silky, sinuous and sexy. I wasn't about to trust "Santa" to take the hint; I did my own Christmas shopping for myself. :weee: |

The jewellery I bought the other day was absolutely stunning! The bookmark was so dainty and beautiful and the earrings I bought are absolutely gorgeous! Are the rings silver too Caryl? If so I'll definitely buy some :D
|
I'm really pleased you like what you have so much Cherry :)
The rings are Tibetan silver .. ie an alloy containing silver but not solid sterling. We have some at $1.50-2.00 which were a donation, and are lightweight but still pretty .. and some for around $6 which are much heavier and more solid, and are still good value. Some of our necklaces and bracelets are silver plated, but we also have some hallmarked sterling ones which are solid silver and very reasonably priced, absolute bargains really :) We don't have the overheads that stores have, need to pay no wages ;), and simply add a little to the cost of each item for the charity on the basis we'd rather sell more for low margins than sell a few for larger ones :-) And that's working out :D This is a new pendant in the range we will be getting on-line soon .. The Giving Tree :) And that will be available on either a silver plated or a sterling chain http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/d...GivingTree.jpg Caryl |

I suppose it's a good thing that teachers in your workplace don't have a dress code and that you get to enjoy the freedom of your own self-expression during your workday. ;) I speak for the team when I say that I am so happy you're enjoying our offerings, and of course, the bottom line is helping the kids of The Painted Turtle, and that means everything. Thank you! |
I went to the doctor today, and he said I have bronchitis. Yay me!
Anyway. Even when I am sick, I can still have a LIL' BIT of a creative moment... While waiting on my prescription to be filled at Walmart, I thought of a way to display my necklace pendant charms.... It's NOT the most elegant thing in the world; but it's cheap and it WORKS! Plus, now I don't have to fish around the jewelry box trying to find the one I want; they are all displayed individually! :D PS: And no, not all of these charms are Loafdom Direct/CafePress merchandise... But I would say at least half of them are (with more on the way)! http://media.mlxxfc.net/Necklace Display.jpg |
Love it ..
And now you'll need a little tray for your beads!! ;) |
Quote:
|
Because today we have launched our Murano glass beads with sterling silver core, perfect for adding to our Pandora bracelets and necklaces. Custom design your jewellery, and change it any day in a matter of moments. The beads are beautiful, so many different colours, each one unique, and when they catch the light and it hits the silver core the colours change and dance .. And our prices are really low too! We buy at low cost, have no overheads, and simply add a small margin for The Painted Turtle. You won't find them with sterling cores at this price in the stores.
http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/d...eadsgalore.png And that's just a small selection of our range of colours. I'm not sure why generally many European based UK Forum members are seemingly uninterested in Loafdom for the Turtle jewellery. You don't have to be a Meat fan or even care about his charity for what we sell to be a real bargain. I don't know of anywhere else that offers sterling silver bracelets with a Pandora clasp for as little as $10.50 (about £6.50) or the same style of necklace for $16.00 (£10.00). The cheapest Pandora necklace I've seen in the UK is around £30 and they're just plated. And it can't be our shipping costs, which at a maximum of 68p in the UK and $3 anywhere else in the world must be less than most sites and not beaten by any. This thread gets a lot of views, so members must read it. I just find it puzzling; and puzzling too that on a UK forum most of the jewellery I send out is to fans overseas in the USA and Australia, most of whom see it on Facebook rather than here, yet our prices must be comparably cheaper for the UK/European marketplace. This month we're set to raise $700 from direct sales. If there was more interest from the biggest fansite Meat has .. it could be so much more. Perhaps some who read the thread will check out what we offer and make a judgement based purely on quality, value and cost. And Deena's Murano beads will be in the post to Arizona tomorrow :) Caryl |

Any suggestions how I can put those beads on that shelf I posted earlier? More clips maybe? Or what? Edit: Dang!!! I didn't see the Giving Tree charm! Ugh. Next paycheck... Hehee By the way, the ML themed bracelet is kewl. Will all of those charms be sold separately? And I love the wolf & rose combo! I already have the wolf and am waiting on the individual rose; so I guess i can wear them both on one chain soon... PS: Arkansas, not Arizona... But I forgive ya! LOL ;) Sent from my iPhone using Forum Runner |
No bright ideas yet on how to display them Deena .. but I think better later in the day ;)
I think the only charm on the bracelet not listed currently is the handbasket, but we can put that on, although they're a better deal with the bracelet, unless you want to put them on a Pandora style bracelet, in which case individually they come with bails for that. :) I'm fond of the wolf and rose combo too :) The individual charms look great on a bracelet or necklace .. and the large combo pendant on a chain looks fantastic ;) And my bad re Arkansas ;) Though I can SAY it right .. Caryl |

Deena ~ I hope by now the bronchitis is history. It's not fun; I know. :(
Despite being ill, you did indeed come up with a great idea for the jewelry! :D I'm wondering if you could perhaps find a compartmentalized box to place on the longest shelf for your beads? My go-to store is a nearby crafts store - I can usually pick up imaginative finds there. It's too bad that the, um, contraption ;) isn't a bit wider. If so, an ice cube tray would probably work well. Well, I'm sure you'll come up with something. I can't wait to purchase a supply of Murano beads myself. :-) Right now, I'm wearing a Pandora necklace with a wolf and a rose, and it feels so good! Not to mention that it looks awesome. :) When I say it feels good, it's because I feel as though I'm wearing a page from Meat's biography around my neck. I'm so with Caryl when I say I simply do not understand the lack of interest in this line of jewelry. I think you could probably search the net for hours and not find the quality of our line at the incredibly low prices we are asking! Anyway, I'm happy that you are enjoying your pieces. :weee: |

As for a way to store the upcoming beads, an idea just hit me. A simple aluminum bead-sorting tray on that long shelf.... :D Ta-da!!!!! LOL Can't wait to get the beads!!!!!! |

I believe there is something for everyone, or at the end of the day buy a wristband if the jewellery, bookmarks etc doesn't float your boat ! I would of thought people would be rushing in to not only get jewelry for Christmas, but clothes, home ware, accessories, etc too :? I know I got some LFTT clothes for my daughter and hubby for xmas :) I've received my daughters clothes not so long ago, and they are simply marvelous:D:-) She'll love them come Xmas day :D The Goth Crosses are really something, as is all of the jewelry, but I would have thought the Meat inspired design of each piece would have got people in :? but it hasn't, and that is saddening :( Quote:
Hmmmmm, the wish list sounds awsome :D You know what would be great, is if we give LFTT our husbands/wifes/partners names, then when our wish list is done, then just before Xmas send out letters to them saying here are some ideas that such and such wants for Xmas :-P:cool::lol: Well, sounds good in theory lol :) |

I'm happy also that you found a solution to your bead-storing problem. I've ordered just three so far, but that's just a start. ;) Thank you for your TREMENDOUS support! :D Be well!! |
No wonder Santa's smiling .. we were asked for gold .. and Loafdom for the Turtle's new gold collection is on line now :)
Not pure 24 carat gold like Meat ;) But it's attractively priced good gold plated jewellery, and here just in time for Christmas! And every cent from every item sold goes to The Painted Turtle. Now that makes him smile :) http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/d...Goldishere.png http://loafdomturtle.net/direct/ |
Hey. Is the Meat Loaf themed bracelet on LFTT gold or silver? Then again, to be honest, I'm not really a bracelet (or gold, for that matter) type of person...
In fact, I'm actually just hoping the little basket charm will show up on sale as an individual silver piece at some point. :D The reason is that I would love to make a necklace combo for myself! I already have most of those silver pieces ---or something similar to them, at least... So all I need is the little basket next! But hey, that's just my preferences though. ;) You know I'll still buy something "Turtle," so don't mind me...  |
The charm bracelet is silver. I need to replace the photo ;) Not least because I think it will be a 7 charm bracelet wih the addition of a wolf and a rose :-)
If you want a handbasket charm in the meantime just order a Bat charm and pop a note on your Paypal payment that you want the handbasket .. and whether you want a bail or a lobster claw on it :-) Caryl |
http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/d...rtle/Itwas.png
Our November payment to The Painted Turtle. That would bring a smile to the face of any man who loved this amazing organisation :D In addition we earned just over $100 in our CafePress store, which brings our total to date to over $2,300 raised :D Many, many thanks to those who supported us by buying bands and snapping up our silver jewellery .. To paraphrase Meat, Thank you; you make us what we are :-) And there's still plenty of on-line shopping days 'til Christmas to help us raise funds in December .. and get yourself a bargain at the same time. A hallmarked sterling silver bracelet with Pandora clasp for just $10.50 (less than £7) or a silver wolf and the red roses pendant on a sterling necklace for $6.50 (just over £4) are great deals and would make great Christmas presents .. or a keychain for £2.50, a dogtag and skull on a neckchain for £4; and just 68p shipping in the UK. View this thread and miss out on these, and you'd miss your way home! Caryl |

Murano beads today: three gorgeous black beauties with purple swirls and little touches of green, and more colors to come. Woohoo! Addict? Umm, not quite there. I don't check the site for new stuff to buy EVERY day yet. Wait, then again....... Ack, I'm an addict!!!!!!! You're doing a great thing, Deena ~ you're a great friend to the Turtle. I don't check our site everyday, and I'm not sure I ordered silver beads. Aww!! I know I did not order the Giving Tree, and I'm going to have to rectify that promptly. :-) I couldn't agree more about supporting a children's charity. I can't fathom how any adult capable of helping turns a back to any child in need, and especially a sick child! And I think it's pretty obvious by now that what we offer for sale to help support the kids served by The Painted Turtle are quality goods at incredibly low prices. Shipping costs are negligible - you live in the U.S. as I do - can you think of any online merchant who ships for less than $3.00? LL Bean doesn't count! And you make such a good point about Meat - he LOVES The Painted Turtle - don't people remember Celebrity Apprentice??? And if someone is here, reading this, the assumption that they are a fan of Meat Loaf is pretty much a no-brainer. Sure, we have the odd "observer", but I believe they are few and far between. It makes absolutely no sense to me why this thread is so bare. We have stalwart supporters such as yourself, but we should have DOZENS who want to help. Okay, enough pontificating for now! :-P Enjoy your jewelry and relish the fact that YOU are helping a great cause. ;) |
I would just like to say a BIG THANK YOU, to Caryl and the team at LFTT! :D You do such a marvelous job, and it is such a pleasure to support such a great charity too :D I can't even count on 2 hands how much stuff I have bought from LFTT in the last 4-6 months of knowing about it, and through following Meat. I just can't get enough of the jewelry and other goodies, and it certainly made it very easy for Xmas shopping too. But I also adore the fact that my money spent helps put a very big smile on a childs face, and for that I am thankful for, as I love kids and I love to help those children who are sick and in need.
Anyway, once again THANK YOU!!!!! LUV YA GUYS! Quote:
Anyway, I can't tell you how much I love buying this great stuff from LFTT, and trying to promote LFTT :D I just hope it can take off in Aus :) Aw, must not forget this too! I got some other little goodies to go with the great goodies I got in the LFTT cracker pack :) Something to go crackers about, I do think ;) :) So it'll be a cracker ensemble in the next couple of days, which will be fun :) |
Thanks Lynn. I too am surprised at how few orders we get from the UK and Europe. Perhaps they think our prices are so low it has to be rubbish .. but it's not. It's really good value, and the quality far outweighs what you can buy elsewhere at the price, because we buy at source, in quantity, and have no middle-man costs or general overheads to cover. I'd have thought people would be grabbing our arms off at the shoulder for sterling Pandora bracelets for $10.50 plus 68p postage, and necklaces for a tenner .. you'd have to pay £30 in the shops for a plated one, and they're SO in fashion right now. You don't need to be a fan of Meat or his charity to spot and grab a real bargain I'd have thought .. :??:
Hopefully when other people see the jewellery being worn and comment, they'll come and buy, and our market will grow .. not because they're Meat fans, but because they know a great deal when they see one ;) Caryl |

Why not treat yourself or someone special, snap up this bargain, and help The Painted Turtle? It's not on our site as it's just on offer until Christmas, so PM me if you want to snap one up :) Caryl |

Not listed on our site as this is an offer up to 1st January, but PM me and we'll send you an invoice and get your choice of necklace (both available in 18" and 20") off right away ;) |
Some may have read my comments about the wolf with the red roses elsewhere, but I have to say it again....
Wearing my wolf with the roses is like carrying a piece of Meat's history with me. And, not only does it look great, that special tie to Meat feels wonderful. ;) I can't fathom how any woman who loves jewelry (are there any who don't, no matter what the style?) could pass up deals like these. :-P And so important to remember is not only will you be treating yourself, each purchase you make helps The Painted Turtle. :D, and that too feels wonderful! |
Happy Christmas and a wonder-filled New Year to all who have supported our fundraising for The Painted Turtle. Thanks to you we will have raised close to $3,000 since we started in early August. With your help we will raise even more next year. Last month we raised $800, so a target of $10,000 next year doesn't seem like an impossibility :-) That would provide a magical and life-changing experience to 6 children, and restock the Well Shell pharmacy.

HAPPY NEW YEAR from Loafdom for the Turtle, and to everyone who has supported us in whatever way you could, we thank you for helping us to raise $3122 in 2011 for the children served by The Painted Turtle, $2,718 of that from direct sales of bands, magnets, jewellery, and calendars. One young camper at the Kidney Disease and Transplant Session this year wrote "My favorite part of camp was figuring out that I can conquer more than I ever thought, and I learned things about myself that I never knew." That's what your support enables, that's the special magic of camp and their children's courage and journey that moves Meat to tears. We thank you so much, and hope you will continue to support us next year when we hope to raise even more to ensure as many children as possible get to experience what The Painted Turtle provides .. in their words "With your help we have created a wonderful world where kids with serious illnesses can live life the way children should" All of you who have bought a band, a T-shirt or a teddy bear, some jewellery or a fridge magnet, downloaded a 2012 calendar (still available), or simply reposted our messages and spread the word to your friends .. you have played a part in creating that very special world, and we are proud of you. http://www.loafdomturtle.net/ A wristband costs so little, but helps create an empowering new world to a child fighting serious illness. Thank you. Caryl, Jenna, Mark, Mel and Sue |
And a great big HUG back to the people working with LFTT! :D

Awwww I am soooooo happy with my new wolf and rose necklace that it isn't funny, hehehe ;) But it is great! :D Out of all my collect of Loafdom jewelry, it would be my proudest possession at the moment I think ;) It has a great significance to Meat imo ;)
The pink bands are awsome too :D My daughter loves hers :D Her eyes lit up when she saw what I had for her :D LFTT does an amazing job, and I more than happy to support LFTT :) I know some of my Aussie friends and family members have given positive comments about my LFTT jewelry :) Now we just need them to take the next step, and go to the site and purchase ;) But I suppose it is like the old saying goes "you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make them drink" ;) So we'll see what happens ;) :) |
Valentine's Day is coming and this weekend we'll have some great new items which would make perfect gifts, in addition to all the things we have now which would make anyone you love glow with pleasure .. and every Valentine gift will come with a red heart box free of charge to make it that bit more special. Love Meat? Love The Painted Turtle this Valentine's Day .. helping them is the best Valentine you could send him :)

Please keep helping. A glow in the dark wristband costs just $5 .. a silver charm even less, and every cent we make goes to help the children of The Painted Turtle, the charity so close to Meat's heart. Let's make Valentine's Day month a great one, and show the love Meat's fans around the world can muster .. and that yes, Loafdom Rules! http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/d...terJan2012.png Caryl |
That is awsome news from TPT! :D :D :D I hope LFTT can make plenty of sales over the Valentine Month period, as there is some awsome jewelry available :D

After our success raising funds at the London signing, we are calling for volunteers to help us for 40 minutes or so before the shows on the tour to sell bands, bats and jewellery to fans in order to raise money for Meat's much loved charity.
In the USA the shows we will be taking merchandise to are: The Wellmont Theatre Montclair, NJ Thu State Theatre New Brunswick, NJ Marvin Sands Performing Arts Center Canandaigua, NY Bergen Performing Arts Center Englewood, NJ Sands Bethlehem Event Center Bethlehem, PA House of Blues Lounge Showboat Atlantic City Atlantic City, NJ Seneca Allegany Casino Salamanca, NY Bank of America Pavilion Boston, MA Tower Theatre Upper Darby, PA Casino Resort, Biloxi, MS So if anyone going to one of these shows is prepared to arrive about an hour before the doors open, or is attending a M&G and thus likely to be out of that well before showtime, and is willing to help TPT and the many deserving and courageous children it serves, please PM me. Together we can make a real difference :-) We will be doing this for the UK tour as well, where we hope to cover all the shows. The more helpers we have the better we'll do, and it's much easier working in pairs ;) All helpers will be given an ID badge: http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/d...0Turtle/ID.png And in preparation for the tour we now have the blinky bats on sale :-) http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/d...tle/batpin.gif Available on: http://www.loafdomturtle.net/?page_id=160 |
