I still have flashbacks to WW 111,388,605. That one was a doozy. Would be tough to top that one :D

I was just watching Three Bats Live and realised that it is less than a week until the release of the new DVD.

I actually had a proper excited fangirl moment at the thought that it's not much longer to wait now. :cheer: :cheer:

WOW....this brought me to tears. :(

As Kathy said so eloquently, Meat you have not just "lived up" to my expectations...you have EXCEEDED them!

I cannot say enough how this past summer was THE BEST of my life!

Being fortunate enough to Meet you so many times...you made me laugh until my sides hurt! Followed by INCREDIBLE shows that left/leave me speechless!

I still stand by my BEST BOOH Live EVER!! was this YEAR!

You touch the lives of SO MANY of your fans, sometimes I'm not even certain you realize what you mean to US.

You bring me UP, when I am down. Your music and your voice move me in a way that can only be described by goosebumps. You give us your ALL...ALWAYS...and then some. I am in AWE of your drive and dedication...and try to follow that example in my own LIFE.

No need to "thank" US...I know I speak for the majority of your fans when I say:

"Thank-you, THANK-YOU VERY VERY MUCH MEAT LOAF...and one more thing, DON'T YOU EVER EVER EVER STOP ROCKIN!"

Love and MISS you! ;)

Karen G.

P.S. I won't disect Guilty Pleasure...I had enough of that in Nursing Anatomy and Physiology!! :X

I'll just be blasting and dancing!!!

Meat it shouldn't matter what anybody say's the only thing that should matter is that you enjoying what you're doing and we all know you do. All those that give you negative feedback are not true fans and they can go else where you will ALWAYS have US and you will always get new fans and when all they bad asses out they that have/are disliking you, the new ones will take they're place and your fanbase will always grow. You are very talented and do what you do with alot of passion I would like to see somebody else do what you do so stop listen to them and keep rocking and....

NEVER EVER EVER LET ANYONE TELL YOU THAT YOU CAN'T SING.

cause we all know you can.

Well of course I couldn't say for sure what the worst thing to go through is but trust me i've been through plenty of traumas. Some women say childbirth is the worst but spare a thought for us men who are so dedicated and supportive that we will go through that trauma with them every step of the way, even if it leaves us mentally scarred for life. There's a lot to be said for mental pain and anguish and trauma being worse than physical pain, because the body heals, the mind doesn't always. Anyway that's a different discussion.

:twisted:Childbirth is proof that women know nothing of pain :nope:

You ask a woman who has a baby if she wants another one, a lot of them will say "well, a little further down the line I think it'd be nice to have another".

You kick a bloke in the bollocks and asks if he's like to have er one, and the answer will be a very deffinate NO!

He certainly won't say "well, a little further down the line I think it'd be nice to have another".

Anyway, back to the DVD, i'm looking forward to it being released, but I agree with Caryl that it's hardly something i'm "kid at Christmas, hopping up and down, can't live another moment without it" hyped up over.

No .. it just shows our tolerance for it is greater ;) Be grateful your mother had this .. and that your father didn't get kicked dangerously hard in the bollocks once too often ;)

Lol i'm not going to go down this road, except to say that no one can say one thing is worse than other things unless they have experienced them all.

I agree, which is why I didn't compare two which I hadn't experienced ;) I have, however, experienced both pregnancy/childbirth and waiting for a DVD .. and waiting for a DVD is easier ;)

But if Mouse considers that women know nothing of pain because they are prepared to endure childbirth more than once, even without having a couple of balls to be kicked, I believe I am sufficiently knowledgable to say that it suggests we must have a greater tolerance ;)

I will probably get lambasted for saying this, but it sounds like more of a yell than a note, To the point that by the time you hit the word time, it sounds like your voice cracks On that word both times.

In my opinion, the version of hot patootie that was released alongside the "if I can't have you" single was a much stronger version of the song, Featuring a much stronger vocal performance than what I am hearing from the guilty pleasure offering.

I apologize if I offended you with what I said, I was simply trying to say what I thought about that particular song

I agree with this, ultimately I am a small fish in an ocean of fans. Many of those same fans will shout their undying love for this DVD from every rooftop that they can find.

Just because I don't like this one thing, doesn't mean I'm still not a big fan, just means I won't be buying this particular release. As I said earlier, if I offended you, I apologize. Onward and upward

Yeah it matters because of the way it was expressed. If he'd just said, i'm sorry but I didn't like it that much, or sorry but i didn't really like the vocals that's a fair view. But to go further and slate the vocals as 'terrible' and saying Meat is 'yelling' instead of singing, knowing full well Meat is going to read it, is disrespectful and hurtful to feelings. I know it's a small difference but it's a difference all the same. And so we're back to the same old thing it's not what you say but it's how you say it. Can I just ask does anyone actually even read the lines in bold red at the top of the page?

I've just checked my Amazon account and mine has not even been dispatched yet meaning that I won't get it until at least Wednesday.

I'm rather annoyed about this. I pre-ordered this because I wanted it on the day of release and when I've ordered from other retailers, I've usually recieved the item on release day, if not before. I may as well have not bothered pre-ordering at all and with this being the second time Amazon have done this I won't be pre-ordering anything from them again.

Sebastian. 29 Sep 2012 16:28

Meat,

Can I have a job in the band playing the toy laser gun, that Paul has in Break It? I feel I can master that.

olblueeyes 29 Sep 2012 16:28

Got my copy this morning and have had a first watch through of it - and it's fantastic. The sound is superb - I personally don't think the short iTunes samples nearly do the thing justice.

Watching it through, my overwhelming thought is that it feels like being at a Meat Loaf concert - IMO this is the first of Meat's live releases to replicate that feeling of being there. The lighting and the sound mix are the difference in doing this, and are both are truly great.

Thanks Meat for another top notch release to add to the ol' collection. It was well worth the wait.

They all seem to be the same as far as I can tell. Bought mine from Townsend and it doesn't appear to be any different to what Amazon has.

It does make me wonder why some people who ordered from them have had their orders dispatched and others are having to wait?

I phoned my local HMV to see if they would be getting it there but the girl I spoke to said she couldn't find it on the system. However someone on another group said that HMV were reserving a copy for him so I'm going to pop in to the store on my way to work and see if I can speak to someone who might know something different. If I can get it from HMV on Monday then I can cancel my order through Amazon.

Everything I've seen of it, and the comments from those who have received it, suggest the DVD will do that all on its own ;) Just with the added bonus no-one will be singing flat in your ear, or shoving you out of the way to grab a flying pick

MarkS 01 Oct 2012 02:52

Have now seen it, watched on my HD computer screen (not in HD, so thats irrelevant) and listened through my Bower's and Wilkin's P5 Headphones, which produce some of the most natural sound that you can get your ears around.

6.5/10

Better than 3 Bats but not better than MSO

Band sounds good, in terms of vocals, it has it high points (Peace on Earth) but it definitely has its low points.

High points for me:
Peace on Earth
Took the Words
Stand in the Storm
Band is super tight, can't get much better in terms of a group of talented players.
Patti sounds exceptional
Guitar intro to 2 outta 3

Criticisms:

Lighting is just simply too dark IMO, call it ambiance if you want, but it just didn't work for me.

IMO Anything for Love just doesn't sound like itself without the piano riff in the beginning, prefer the current tour arrangement. Also one of the weakest vocal performances of the night (again IMO)

Not a huge fan of the stacked backing vocals, it sounds like a Norman Luboff Choir in the back during the whole thing.

Don't care much for the violin, doesn't fit with most of the songs, works beautifully with POE and 2 outta 3 though

The echo is so f***ing distracting, and it is everywhere, like nearly every track. It makes me want to pull my hair out. It sounds fake and just distracts from the main course, would love to have heard it minus the echo, because with the exception of 1 or 2 songs it doesn't sound like that live.

6.5/10

melon 01 Oct 2012 09:23

You seem to be the only one that it annoys, so not an issue, and seeing as even you managed to give it a 6.5 I rate it as a win. Can't wait for mine to turn up :)

prior to the show the front room is made into darkness, dry ice around the room with a small purle light around the tv giving it the stage effect,

i will hire someone for the night to stand in the kitchen and serve up food and drink on request, also someone with all my mech to choose from.

security on the front door,

and the arena sound systerm turned up to the max

just a normal night really :D

I can be there in 2hr1min according to route planner :D

mtaylor315 01 Oct 2012 12:28

I haven't got the time to write up a review, but I'm about 75% through the DVD and I think its amazing.

Personally the echo wasn't an issue. I barely noticed it if I'm honest and I felt it added something when it was noticeable. As for the lighting issue, it looks so much better on the DVD than it did on YouTube.

The band sound great and so does Meat. Rock and Roll Dreams is my favourite, it was so good! Good job Meat! £12 well spent lol :D x

There is one Guilty Pleasure torrent out at the moment so sadly yes it could be. And it's only 105mb so there's no way that could be decent quality.

I'm aware that some think I'm a joke with my antipathy towards bootlegs/pirate copies .. but when I think of the effort, planning, work and care that Meat and others have put into this DVD, that there is a torrent people can grab for nothing as far as the performer is concerned before even today's release date, it simply reinforces my view. The world HAS gone to hell in a handbasket of entitlement in my view :(

No it wasn't. I have a hookup over there in a retail distribution environment who sent it to me as soon as he could get his hands on it. It arrived Friday afternoon. So what I saw was in fact the real deal, whole enchilada, bought and paid for with express shipping

I don't deal with bootlegs much especially on something like this. I will admit to owning a MMW tour bootleg but that's about it.

I wonder if it is even real? 2 hours plus at 105 MB seems way too low, it would be unwatchable. I will wait until October 18th when Amazon says I will receive my US copy and hook up the soundbar and flatscreen. It is only around $10, why would anyone who really wanted it even bother with downloading a 105 MB copy?

If I was guessing I would say that it is only a tip of the audio cd and not the DVD , but most of the sites I have seen it on label it as a scam so I wouldn't bother with it

I wasn't saying to bother with it, I was just answering Caryls question that sadly there is one out there. I would never download this.

Nor was I, I was just warning people not to, because it is likely virus and malware ridden

Next portion not directed at anyone in particular

I do enjoy the Fact that even though I got mine from a legitimate source and paid a hefty sum to have it early that I am now a bootlegger.

I swear, anything to try and discredit an opinion that isn't 100% positive

No one said you were. Caryl asked a perfectly legitimate question. She never said you were.

Btw I actually want to thank you as I felt your review was in fact respectful and fairly written. I may not agree with your review, but like I say I respect it because it was written fairly and respectfully.

Its cool

While it may not go down as a favorite of mine, it's a respectable release and its better than I originally thought it would be
