I soo agree with you there Jenna....

Meat: you would be amazed if you knew what we true fans would do for you....We all feel that you are a family-member, and you know how much family means to one another....
You have always shown your love for us fans, so don`t be surprised if we would go throug hell for you! Cous we will....!
We are spread all around the world, and will never give up to support you...

That`s what true Fans are!!!

The letter you have written to the AFL, well I personly don`t think you have anything to apologize for...they don`t deserve it....
They really don`t....
But, what do we not do for the living quarters of home.....

Anyway...Meat, you will rise again, stronger than ever...you`ll see.. ;-)

Love ya

Well said. I would die for Meat like any member of my family.

Meat Loafs music has always been there for me whenever I needed it.

Therefore I say we take this AFL down! Teach them for messing with our man Meat.

How dare anyone disrespect such a legend! I love Meat Loaf with all my heart I say we give the AFL hell! And the Australian press.

I am so angry with what they have done to Meat Loaf

In this 30+ minute interview we discussed numerous topics aside from the AFL such as the concerts within Australia and the related positive reviews from the fans, as well as the wonderful response we have been receiving for the new CD titled "Hell In A Handbasket" recently released in Australia. Unfortunately, the edited interview only focused on the AFL and some key statements. We all say things in the heat of the moment that we later regret and this was one of those moments for me. Yes, there were technical difficulties at the Grand Final pre-game performance which were extremely inopportune, and I didn't come off in the best light, however, the ill-response was extreme. I am a passionate person who leaves everything on stage, and my many fans world-wide know this for fact, but it was this same passion that brought me to lash out when I shouldn't have during the interview. Last, I also want to apologize to my fans. Their unrelenting support in Australia has been strong and hasn't gone unrecognized. "
Sincerely,
Meat Loaf.

Very well written Meat. But as the others have said, you're the big man here and have nothing to apologize for :-)

Meat....

It takes a big man, with a big voice to do that!! I saw the AFL video and honestly You didn't sound bad at all....the press can be brutal....but you retaliated and proved to them your sincere!!! I just hope that they print it right and not jumble up the words like they do!!
Well you know your fans are behind you 100% ...and that's what counts!!!__!

M

Meat,

Sadly, I agree about their pre-conceived notions.

You've manned up as you always do, (although imo no apology to anyone was needed) and if your well-crafted message is not printed, FURTHER SHAME ON THEM. I'd love to say precisely what I think about them, but we are, after all, moderated.

Your fans know what you're all about, and I'll rejoice in the day you can finally put this all behind you.

It sounds fantastic Meat ! Really well written and addresses everything.

Although it wasn't clear that in editing the interview that they made it look like you said the "AFL are jerks" when really you were talking about cyber bullies. I think its important that you actually say that, people can be dumb and wont put 2 and 2 together. :-P

They definitely did. They better print the apology!! Its sincere, and it really was great to read. I am sure the fans will see it was a very positive thing, and hopefully it will help lay things to rest.

I don't know why they wouldn't print this,
reading it comes across as sincere and heart felt. Unfortunatly I have not seen this interview to comment further but I think I speak for the majority when I say that we definatly do know how passionate you are when it comes to performance and staging.

Rock on :metal:.

KayBaby 25 Oct 2011 17:32

Well written, Fire Ball. No apologies needed for your fans.

Unfortunately, I'll be surprised if the media runs this. They might run it in a "Letters to the Editor" type format.

I was a media spokesperson for two major U.S. airlines - they never ran the good stuff. Once they start piling on, they don't stop until they move on to another bad story.

I was thinking the same thing, a letter to the editor format. It would be tough to turn down a response from a famous entertainment personality. If sent as a PR it will probably not be used, there's no way to twist it into anything sensational.

suzieq 25 Oct 2011 19:29

I like the press release statement. Others have put it more eloquently but I can't type effectively from my phone. So pardon my straightforwardness today.

Judging by the pre-AFL press, it did seem they were out to get you before you set foot on the stage, they were angry an American was chosen and were upset for who knows why, but, that's in the past, you made your most appropriate statement and now can move on to NZ shows with the passion you are known for.

:heart:So proud to be your fan!!

Wow, I wouldn't have expected him to do this. Respect! It's easy to call someone a "jerk", everybody can do that, but this takes courage. I'm impressed.

No need to apologize, Meat. But for that, I respect you just to same. Hell, you could have done a lot worse and we would still love you and defend you to the end. That’s what loyal fans do. You have way more class than them and it’s about time they realize that. Keep on Rockin, my beloved and know that when they attack, we will always have your back.

It’s been a little rough out there on the road. Trust me, we are all ready for you to just come on home. I want my Teddy Bear to be home. Luv ya bunches.

Yes, they were out for him..right down to the half our before he took stage. The AFL commentators TV were not nice pre game. When I reflect back, I remember being pissed off then. Along with a few other people watching online..some of those being Australian. IMO, just more proof that the press had a bit of an agenda. I don't want to upset Meat anymore than he already is. What's done is done.

He's back on forum, keeping us updated. Fingers crossed the AU press does the right thing and prints Meat's statement.
