Ernie said "One thing that really struck me about me when I first saw him was how smutty he talks. He had/has a really filthy mouth." I replied to that.

But whatever you need to be satisfied

My wife has accompanied me to Meat's shows since the turn of the millenium. After the gig at Birmingham this year her very first comment was "he didn't swear once, tonight".
Read into it what you like!!

Meat has always swore, but he did seem to go through a phase of ~~~~ing swearing like a ~~~~ing mother~~~~er for a couple of years.

If it's too loud, you're too old. ;)

They are still pretty loud, but it seems to me they used to be louder. I remember having to scream to be heard over the music; now, not only can I hear the person next to me relatively easily, I can hear other people's conversations as well. :?

Although, I go to see different kinds of bands now. ;)

I know for a fact Van Halen did some damage.

I'm gonna assume that my first ML experience was part of that.

For the record I thought it was badass. I didn't think that you were allowed to use that type of language on stage.

Just shows how some idiots can spoil it for everyone else!!

That's some Axl Rose shit right there.

Has nothing to do with me being 'satisfied', just saying it as it is.

There are few things that pi$$ me off more than people talking at shows. It's disrespectful to the artist, disrespecful to those around you who are trying to listen, and frankly if you want to talk through the songs please stay at home and talk along to your CDs!

Newcastle 2010 was a prime example...we were front row on the aisle seats and behind us were a group who'd been allowed to leave their seats and stand in the aisle. They'd been on the wine and were clearly exicited to have upgraded their spot in the arena for free! Meat starts Two Out Of Three and this woman starts screaming "oohh this is my song! I love this song! He's doing my song". Meat FINISHES Two Out Of Three and she's still screaming it!! If it's your song then shut the **** up and listen to it! ARGH!!!

Meat should've been like "Gurl shut yo mouth" then snap his fingers with a jive hip movement.

I remember the Bat 2 and Neighborhood shows I saw being heavy on profanity. They were also riotously funny and entertaining - swearing can make something funnier and I've no time for the kind of prudish mentality that says otherwise in regards to an adult rock n' roll show. I just saw it all as part of Meat's big, blustering subtle-as-a-sledgehammer personality.

I guess the last time I heard him swear on stage was 2006. I hadn't really noticed him dropping it, but there does seem to have been a conscious effort to tone it down. Has Meat commented on it at all?

Of course the Last At Bat shows were more sentimental and focused on emotion so it's entirely fitting that he'd not swear there.

I agree. Act 2 was the album, pure and simple, so Paradise was delivered as it was recorded. Act 1 was delivered with no addressing the audience, and during Act 2 what Meat did say was devoted to grateful thanks to us for following him for so many years, and for those who were so integrally bound with his success

I admit enjoying Meat's on stage potty mouth but then again I also enjoy cursing myself at times. Maybe it was my strict upbringing that has influenced it.

I understand what you're saying. I also felt the same way at my first Meat show but after 5 minutes of it I was all in! Fun times!:D:D:D
