For me it's Paul. Great on stage, and I prefer his harder sound. But his skill is blending in the harder sound whilst keeping true to the originals.

I think Paul's great...but I think its gotta be todd rundgren!

Pat Thrall

It'll always be Pat Thrall to me, then the Neverland and Meat were in full swing Rock, Thrall on lead guitar and Meat in full theatrical dress circa Bat II 1993-1994.

Benny 20 Mar 2006 21:47

I've liked them all, but my favourites have to be:

Paul Crook, Pat Thrall and Todd Rundgren. :D

Well to me its really hard to name a few. He's had some good ones.

In no particular order, I would say

Paul for his attitude towards the sounds he makes and plays -deadly!
Bald guy  I forget his name, he was around in '86, and wrote that awesome solo for 2outta3. Aaaand Todd because after all, he made Bat a good part of what it is today...

Bob Kulick. Fantastic guitarist (despite the spandex) and an alround great guy!

samurai7 28 Jul 2006 19:08

Yeah, it's Bob Kulick for me too. He played in the '78 tour and then re-joined for the Bad Attitude tour if I'm not mistaken, staying on for the BBIS and Lost Boys & Golden Girls tours. Very good indeed. Not that Pat, Paul etc aren't, but Bob's my fave.

RSG 28 Jul 2006 19:13

Kulick the bald man?,

Yes, the very same. (except he wasn't bald in '78)

Bohemian 29 Jul 2006 06:32

My favourite guitarists that have worked with Meat are Todd and Tim Pierce.

Todd is Godd, make no mistake about that.

Leah 29 Jul 2006 17:04

My favourite guitarist's have to be Pat Thrall, Tim Pierce and Eddie Martinez.

Bohemian 30 Jul 2006 05:36

Whoa hold the phone, I forgot Davey Johnstone! I associate him with Bad for Good more than Dead Ringer so I completely overlooked him.

I'll Kill You If You Don't Come Back... niiiiiiiiiiice. Davey rocks hard.

Davey and Todd. Two guitarists you can set your watch by. :rambo:

Paul 'Metal Loaf' Crook for me!

rockyboy74 17 Aug 2006 18:37

I think of modern time Meat Loaf's best guitarist has to be Paul Crook absolutely amazing on stage, but my other favorite is Bob Kulick from the album Bad Attitude not only is this a great 1980's album but the guitaring is out of this world try playing it full blast and I'm sure you will all no what I mean

jossnjuice 17 Sep 2006 22:27

gotta be pat thrall for me folks. saw him in 93 and he won me over with the first 2 min intro.

madagascar 10 Oct 2006 14:30

Bruce Kullick, the brother of the bald Bob Kullick.
Todd Rundgren, Pat Thrall, Paul Crook are amazing, as well.

lisa01 22 Feb 2010 15:45

whos the best lead guitarist meat loaf has worked with

PAUL CROOK AND RANDYFLOWERS

wolfy35 22 Feb 2010 16:13

Now that is a question with lots of possibilities.

Do you mean Live, Studio or Overall ( Having done both )

Live my preference would be Damon LaScott, probably not a popular choice but he is mine

Studio hands down for me Steve Vai

Overall pat Thrall

That was a hard one because im old enough to remember all Meat has worked with and they all have some very good plus points

Vickip 22 Feb 2010 16:32

Paul Crook & Randy Flowers

Evil One 22 Feb 2010 17:58

I gave my original thoughts three years ago. Since then Paul Crook has impressed me more.

1 Paul Crook
2 Pat Thrall
3 Bob Kulick

Bottom: Damon LaScott. He never impressed me, although perhaps that's not fair as he wasn't with the NLE long enough to really make the part his own.

mib 23 Feb 2010 09:21

Bob Kulick
Steve Vai

Smithie 25 Feb 2010 17:14

Paul & Randy are great, but my pick is Pat Thrall.

glamourgirl 25 Feb 2010 18:11

Randy is my favorite guitarist.
