It tells the authorities that the vehicle doesn't need road tax because its not road worthy!! And i've had 2/3rds of a bottle of wine so that previous statement is a bit of an achievement!!

duke knooby 17 Oct 2007 01:33

also not strictly true.. it only states your licence plate (vehicle) shouldn't be used on the roads as its not taxed

mszee 17 Oct 2007 01:34

*opens and closes her mouth*

Road tax???

duke knooby 17 Oct 2007 01:35

sorn has no bearing on vehicle condition, road worthiness or anything to be honest.. other than a new revenue raiser for the government.....

mszee 17 Oct 2007 01:38

We don't have road tax...at least I don't think so...we have some toll roads...where you pay tolls...but you can sometimes avoid those...

Andy will explain in the morning...I am his favorite (I hope) retarded child...knowing America he can kinda...process it for me...

duke knooby 17 Oct 2007 01:42

if you own a vehicle, you either get it taxed.. or declare it sorn (off the road)

We pay tax when we buy vehicle...sales tax? That's it...

Also you can make a deal of not paying tax if you're paying cash...one of those things...

mszee 17 Oct 2007 18:42

I just re-read my post...not done THAT as kicking in faces...but done that as being worried and then mad...

AndyK 17 Oct 2007 18:42

I was indeed worried sick (and I wasn't the only one ;-) ), he seems to have this knack of knowing how to give me heart failure ... trips to the vet, badger holes, more trips to the vet, empty muddy fields ... the list is growing

LucyK! 17 Oct 2007 18:44

It is a really frightening thing....the boxer dog we had years ago got away from me once and I lost him, eventually found him trotting back up the main road, thankfully heading in the wrong direction to end up on the A1, but it was just awful, was ready to kill him when I got him back
