Mmmm. Cars is the only Pixar film I didn't like, so not bothered about 2 at all. Not a huge fan of The Incredibles either. But the Toy Story Trilogy, Up, Finding Nemo, WallE, Monsters Inc are all awesome.

watched some good movies last night/today.
Shutter Island, Green Zone and Brothers. Enjoyed them all. Makes being laid up ill much less annoying.

RadioMaster 28 Jul 2010 21:56

Fantastic film, should have done much better than it did....

Watched Terminator Salvation the other night, and about 15 minutes of The Mummy last night before my eyelids got too heavy for me to hold up....

Mmmmm..... Brendan Fraser with hair and tight trousers......

Inception.
Probably the most overrated movie I've seen in a long time.
It was ok, but The Matrix is better and has a much more plausible and satisfying story line in my opinion and MUCH more character development which is seriously lacking here. There are other films you can easily see where it is borrowing ideas from and they have seriously been overlooked and I personally wouldn't say they were any better or worse than Nolan's effort: "Existenz", "Open your Eyes"/"Vanilla Sky" and perhaps even "What Dreams May Come".

9.1 on IMDB apparently ranks this movie higher than classics such as Schindler's List, Pulp Fiction and Goodfellas and rates it the same as Shawshank Redemption. I think that's an insult to cinema to be honest. Any joker could have "dreamt up" this movie in my opinion. It doesn't have anything specificially creative that I haven't seen before or hasn't been done better. It does appear to have a reasonably "good heart" and I can see it has been put together with a lot of enthusiasm and Dicaprio is pretty good so kudos for that. I would rate it somewhere around the 7 mark, which I think is beyond fair in amongst serious Oscar contenders such as Toy Story 3.

Mrs Bucket is like my Mother-In-Law, infact im convinced they wrote the story on her.

Its awful when she shouts my name (as its Richard). I just hope her Daughter does not grow up like her mum

AndrewG 08 Aug 2010 02:02

Phone Booth.

Absolutely stunning in my opinion. A movie that gets better with more views. Kiefer Sutherland's voice is perfect.
