The one from a couple of years ago? It was ~~~~ing dreary bollocks!

RadioMaster 18 Aug 2010 23:27

as good as it gets

normally not my type of movie, but Jack Nicholson as grumpy old man is just brilliant!

The dog down the chute ? ... A hoot ! ... I laughed so hard I near wet m'self ! ... Imo, it's so funny because, at least I felt this way, you're led to believe it's his dog. He's being so sweet calling to it and WHOOSH... down it goes ! ... hahaha ...

Tremors

one of those so-bad-it's-actually-good-movies

fav quote: "These creatures are unprecedented!" - "Yeah, but where did they come from?"

The Expendables. Pretty awesome action flick if you like your guns, explosions and violence. Sly at his best. Good fun.

Happy Saturday meatie peeps ...

Miracle Run. The film is based on the true story of a mother and her twin autistic sons, from the boys' ages of about six to fifteen years old. I laughed a bit and cried alot and sometimes did both at the same time ! ... lol ... The strengths and convictions of the mom and sons were just incredible. I enjoyed the film immensely.

Evil One 22 Aug 2010 21:30

The Spy Who Loved Me. It hasn't aged well at all. Last week I watched The Man With The Golden Gun, and I thought it had aged much better.

Do you find yourself doing the same as I when watching old movies ~ "Now, if he had access to a cell phone and internet, this film would be over in a flash." ? ~ lol ...

We watched a fun film about women's roller derby called Whip It. It's Drew Barrymore's debut as a film director. We're fans of Drew and Juliette Lewis was in it as well and Ellen Page. It was a fun film. We laughed and cried a bit at the sentimental parts. We liked it much !

It is very dated, but still quite good fun.

Last film I saw was Knight and Day - thought it was quite entertaining, mainly due to Tom and Cam. Nothing new about it, but passed the time enjoyably enough.

AndyK 23 Aug 2010 00:37

The Sum Of All Fears, can't beat a bit of Tom Clancy escapsim!

Sarge 25 Aug 2010 12:28

The Angry Hills

Not Robert Aldrich's best movie but good entertainment anyway.

Sue K 25 Aug 2010 14:01

Donny Brasco starring the deppie one ... The film's about an FBI agent who went undercover to infiltrate the Mafia/ mob and is based on a true story. I've watched the film many times and when it gets to this one scene, I STILL ask myself how the guy could ever have brought himself to do what he had to so the mob guys wouldn't catch on. Omg ... ...

Chloe, with Amanda Seyfried, Julianne Moore and Liam Neeson. Not bad.
Got a few more to watch tonight.

Sarge 25 Aug 2010 18:13

Patrick (!!!)

Thanks to AndrewG for making me aware of it. Not very scary but interesting 1970s horror flick. Must be a great role for an actor: Lying in bed motionless without ever saying a word and having the same facial expression throughout the whole movie. (I saw him blink once. :p)

"Er... she comes to us in the wake of an unstable domestic situation, Doctor." - "Hire her!"

Piranha (1978.)

entertaining, but nothing overly special...quite similar in style to other Joe Dante movies like The Howling or Gremlins.

As far as I remember you hardly see any piranhas in that movie, right? At least not in a way that they'd scare you. The movie is unintentionally funny at times. For example, when the piranhas attack and the people are actually quite close to the bank but instead of leaving the water they all just scream like hell and get even more into the reach of the nasty fish. I love horror movies. :lawl:

The Howling is a fave film of mine. The ending took me by surprise.

RadioMaster 26 Aug 2010 05:29

It just occured to me that it's about a guy who's in a coma, lying in a hospital bed and a nurse who is taking care of him (even though her name isn't Jenny... or Julia... or whatever), LOL.
