I can just see you now, sitting down with a bit of paper, trying to work out where exactly half-way through the title would be... :lmao:

Last film for me?

Sleepy Hollow, followed by Bridget Jones' Diary, followed by Die Hard III: Die Hard With A Vengeance, followed by The Shawshank Redempt - I couldn't stay awake to watch the ending!!

Monstro 01 Oct 2007 12:31

Next - Nicolas Cage

followed by The League Of Extrordinary Gentlemen

Deb 01 Oct 2007 12:41

I saw Next not long ago. I love Nicholas  The film wasn't the best though, but better than your second choice

RadioMaster 01 Oct 2007 12:42

in lack of anything good on tv I got my jurassic park dvd out again last night

Thought the idea was good, not convinced of the ending though.

League is a great film, lol, gotta love Sean

allrevvedup 01 Oct 2007 13:00

Michael Clayton , the George Clooney one.

It's good but you have to stick with it, some very graphic scenes as well.

SamCat 01 Oct 2007 13:01

Yes having seen the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen twice and missed the last 5 mins twice i was looking forward to finally seeing the end but its just not meant to be!!!

Yeah it was the ending that got me lol.

Hello Dave.... League of gentlemen started off funny but progressively got worse  Now it's just the same as Little Britian lol

LucyK! 01 Oct 2007 13:09

I truly detest The League Of Gentlemen...I'd rather never watch TV again than watch a minute of that.

Thoroughly enjoyed Hannibal, definitely hadn't seen it before and it was a lot better than expected, though Clarice's accent was really annoying...very difficult to go along with the idea that it's the same person from Silence Of The Lambs

AndyK 01 Oct 2007 13:18

Errr ... ladies, The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen isn't the same as The League Of Gentlemen. The former being a film starring Sean Connery, the latter being set in Royston Vasey.

LucyK! 01 Oct 2007 13:21

Well I'll watch that but I'm not watching The League Of Gentlemen!

SamCat 01 Oct 2007 13:21

I was talking about the film with Sean Connery not the film of the tv series!! I've never seen the tv series or the film of the series!!

Monstro 01 Oct 2007 13:22

Did wonder why my choice went down like a turd in a punchbowl

Skeleton 01 Oct 2007 13:40

Rented Pleasure Drivers tonight.

Very Weird but thought Lauren Holly was v good as was Meat, their main scene together was good.

Other then that i could've lived without it.

Hypnobabe 07 Oct 2007 15:21

The Mummy... the Rachel Weisz, Brendan Fraser version... you know, the one with Brendan Fraser in those tight little trousers and boots.... looking gorgeous... and fighting people sweatily....

Excuse me, I need to go for a lie down...

AndyK 07 Oct 2007 16:42

Van Helsing ... and then the tail end of Crimson Tide, which is good to watch but completely off the mark technically.

Off the mark technically...that reminds me...as a technical guy...have you ever wondered what software they use when they type messages on the black screen back and forth?

It's all your fault...you were talking so much about Jeffery Deaver that I finally remembered I had one of his books in the bookcase - The Maiden's Grave. Read that and got hooked...

Watched Bone Collector and thought...oh oh...there is some writing by the numbers here...

Didn't stop me yesterday going to the bookstore and buying like 10 of his books...will get me through the next 10 years I suppose...:lmao:

My last movies were:

1. Everything Is Illuminated...good movie but somewhat hard to watch...a bit personal in many ways...

2. Light British fluff called Confetti...that was cute...

Oops... did I just say that out loud? Ummm....

It was one of those subliminal things...I've read "Jeffery Deaver" here so many times that when my eyes were roaming over the bookshelves I saw it and connected the dots in my mind...which usually is pretty hard, of course...:lmao:

AndrewG 27 Oct 2007 03:08

Saw 2 movies on Wednesday at the cinema (both not my choice I have to say).

First one:
The Dark is Rising.
(this is an extract what I wrote about it on IMDB:
Quote:

This movie is a total joke in my opinion. From the lame story line to the absolute stealing of ideas from other movies such as "Harry Potter", "Lord of the Rings", "The Matrix" and "The Goonies". That would not be so bad had it been executed well. I couldn't find anything good about this film at all if I am being honest. Perhaps some of the special effects were okay but that is very easy to get done properly these days I think. I thought the story was bad, the music was the bad and the acting was terrible. Probably the first time I ever felt I wanted to leave the cinema during a film. I cannot understand why this movie made it to the cinema if I compare it to other ones which do not. This movie simply insults the intelligence of the viewer and that is made worse by the fact that it is more aimed to children. Absolutely awful and a waste of time.
2nd film: Rendition; VERY Good, very moving, well acted. Quality film.

Hypnobabe 20 Nov 2007 21:56

A friend of a friend was driving a year or so ago and the drum part of a cement lorry fell off the lorry and landed on the top of her car - the cement company won't pay any damages or compensation because they say it was basically an Act of God and they couldn't have predicted it!!

I especially liked boy leaving dentist who got smooshed by the glass thingy...

LucyK! 20 Nov 2007 22:01

How is that Act of God? I thought it was only weather-based stuff that came under that? Surely that's a case of some dumb ass not attaching it properly!

That film did make me extremely paranoid, not helped a few years ago by a group of us driving through the midlands and a ladder shooting off a work lorry into the road, totally convinced me that film could happen!

I agree completely Lucy, I think the company's liable for (at the very least) not carrying out proper safety checks to make sure there were no worn parts or whatever, but apparently that's the stance they're taking, I assume they think she won't take it to court because they're a big company and can afford the legal bills and she's a single mother and can't.... It's shocking really...
