Jennifer Jones at a live aide concert for South Africa
. She sings "The Future ain't what it used to be" . It is live and it is an exhausting song. I thought she did an excellent job. It is the closest version I have heard other than the one on Pandora's Box.( which is amazing)
There are some sad pictures during the song.

That was incredible, and so apt for the cause. Also, Jennifer Jones breaks down with the emotion of the song at the end. Awesome.

Breeze 11 Nov 2013 07:02

That is a very difficult song to sing. She has a gaff or two but it is LIVE . I was very impressed with her cover of this song, it is almost as good as the original. It was very difficult to see those pictures and this song was perfect. I don't know who Jennifer Jones is but she is amazing here.

Wow, that is filmed really well. I have been amazed at the amount of stuff Bruce allows. The videos on here the last few days have sold me on some of his more recent stuff. Those videos promote an artist well.

A few of the ones posted here have been pro-shot, though the one I posted wasn't. I've seen stuff that is filmed even better than that- multiple camera angles mixed with stellar audio. No cell phones. ;)

Bruce doesn't specifically allow taping, but he doesn't do much to stop it, either- I think it's a kind of understanding between him and the fans. (And lucky for us! :-))

I have not been much of a Bruce fan in recent years but these videos have rekindled my interest in the newer stuff. Honestly I would not have known about it without those videos which I can tell are fan shot. Bruce promotes himself well by letting his fans do it. He's up with the times and embraces it, at least unofficially.

He's been "with it" at least since 1978, when he dedicated "Racing in the Street" at Winterland (in San Francisco) to "All the folks back home in Asbury Park, who I'm sure will hear this one day through the magic of bootlegging." (The show was broadcast on the radio)

E Street Radio, which is his official channel on Sirius satellite radio plays bootlegs. So, he uses it that way as well.

Take your time girl - Niels Geusebroek

Story behind this song. Weathercast woman Hannelore from a Dutch radio station is pregnant from a daughter and just shared the sound of the echo on radio. DJ Ruud ter Wild thought it would be great to use the heartbeat of this unborn for a song dedicated to mother and child. So he contacted Dutch musician Niels Geusebroek to compose a song for Hannelore.

This is the outcome:

YouTube Video

Lyrics:
Safe and sound
My hands around your body
We’ll take it day by day

I’ll show you around
Guide you through my memories
Every step of the way

Take your time girl
Just leave it to me
And hold on to love
Soon you’ll find the world at your feet
Take your time girl
Just leave it to me
And hold on to love
I feel you getting closer every beat
Take your time girl

On our own
Everywhere together
I know you’ll count on me

But we’re not alone
Your father and your sister
Are waiting patiently

Take your time girl
Just leave it to me
And hold on to love
Soon you’ll find the world at your feet
Take your time girl
Just leave it to me
And hold on to love
I feel you getting closer every beat

Deep in the night
When the whole world’s asleep
I imagine how you’ll be in 2033
And it’s all fine by me

Take your time girl
Just leave it to me
And hold on to love
Soon you’ll find the world at your feet
Take your time girl
Just leave it to me
And hold on to love
I feel you getting closer every beat
Take your time girl
Take your time girl
Take your time girl
Take your time girl

The only song you're absolutely guaranteed to get at an ESB show is Born to Run; aside form that, anything can happen. :-)

Although, my #1 "Holy Shit Moment" (aka HSM ) didn't happen at an ESB show. He started off by saying he'd never played the song solo on guitar before. So, I'm racking my brain trying to imagine what it could possibly be, and then... :-) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hTEo6eeyW-Q
