The cover Joss Stone has done recently is terrible.

Yep, which saddens me, as I've been a fan of everything she's done to date. I know it's a charity record, but I think they got the wrong singer for this one.

It's just the song for me personally. They've really misjudged it.

It's such a powerful and haunting song when it's done simply the way it was written. Dropkick Murphy's version will always be my favourite.

I listened to both songs and will agree, the first one has the spirit of what the song is about. I didn't find Joss Stone's cover appalling , however. I did notice a link on a you tube site regarding the words to the last verse being left off or changed. here is the link

A tv program called Unusual Suspects on the Investigative Discovery channel ... I have this channel on nearly 24/7 ... It's all true crime programs one after another... like Law & Order... but for real !!!... In fact... I've seen two programs so far that I recognize as stories episodes of Law & Order have been based on !

Yeah, except they screwed it up; that version has different lyrics. The band is playing the music right, but Bruce started singing the "normal" lyrics, so the end result was a weird mash-up of the two. If you watch video of the night, it looks like Bruce realized the mistake, but just went with it. Lol

I love this version with David Lindley on violin (as it was originally recorded); the visuals here are fantastic!
