Betty 10 May 2008 13:38

wow, that call was sooo unexpected!!!!! But sooo lovely and nice!!

MeatGrl1 10 May 2008 13:53

I should get going...

~Helen~ 10 May 2008 14:13

hmmm....does anyone know if you're buying a house and the vendor pulls out after you've paid for a full structural survey, structural engineers survey, and damp & timber reports as well as solicitors fees (and of course the arrangement fee for the mortgage!) if there is any way of getting some of that money back?

i'm so totally gutted. the estate agent phoned me today to say that the vendor's pulled out on the house i was buying - i've spent an absolute fortune on surveys you couldn't imagine combined with everything else i've paid out - I can't believe it. I don't know why they pulled out, the estate agent hasn't been able to find out yet. Completely ruined my weekend!

I'm gutted about losing the house because I really had my heart set on it, it seemed perfect for me...but the amount of money this has cost me is just heart wrenching. I'm guessing there is nothing I can do about that, but does anyone know different?? (since I have to wait 'til Monday before I can phone my solicitor)

Battybarb 10 May 2008 15:12

Sorry dont know anything about that, but sorry its happened..what a bummer, especially as it sounds like you had found the perfect place, hope you get on ok on monday..keep focused on the tour...then you will have at least one thing to look forward to

thanks barb - that cheered me up a little! After everything that's happened lately I was starting to feel like it was the last straw - getting the house was the only thing keeping me going at points...but I am so looking forward to seeing Meat in the summer! Am still absolutely gutted, but thinking about the tour at least gave me something to smile about :)

Surgery went well. Though they found out that they´ve got to do another surgery later this year.
He´s doing fine! No big pain etc. Was expecting it to be a lot worse for him.
Thanks for asking Barb!

She was in Where the Heart Is but she wasn't in the Upper Hand!! And she's not the 1st child of a Doctor to be in Dr Who, Patrick Troughton's son has been in it too!!

What a lovely morning again, doesnt the sun make you feel good..especially when you have a day off..

Hypnobabe 12 May 2008 09:30

Barb, if you've got a day off, what on earth are you doing out of bed?!!??

Battybarb 12 May 2008 09:40

Terrible init, just seem to wake up as normal..also give my daughter an early morning call every morning,so the kids are not late for school, she is not the best in the world for getting up,but saying that the kids run her ragged age 7 and 4,and very hyper so she does get tired a lot..think girls are definately harder work than boys and that is from 1st hand experience 3 girls..lol

Hypnobabe 12 May 2008 11:21

I feel very lucky, I've only got two boys, (and a stepson and stepdaughter) similar sorts of ages tho', 8 and 5, but I was one of three girls, and when my stepdaughter turned about 15 (and into a complete little monster) I went round to see my mum and apologise for whatever I'd done at that age!!!

Morning hun lol

MeatGrl1 13 May 2008 11:38

Not sure where I am at and I really do not like this feeling.
No phone call last night or this morning from so called work,
Leaves me thinking have I just been replaced like that
without even being told ? Even if they rang me up to sack me
at least then I'd know where I'd stand but nothing....
I have no idea where I stand or what is happening and I'm
in finanancial crisis, just thank god I'm not living on my own
or I am expected to fend for myself atm... IDK it's depressing
not knowing where you stand :( !

Actually it is...well...yesterday when you posted that was... *drum roll* ...the anniversary of my very first Meat Loaf gig ever! (and I had thoroughly intended to post to say so because I am sad like that but because I am also forgetful like that, I forgot)...it was at the Manchester Evening News Arena, I was right on the very front and it's going to stick with me for ever as one of the most memorable days of my life. I was looking at my photos from the show only yesterday and the memories came flooding back! The confusion and excitement of meeting so many people I'd been hearing about (only good, of course), and what should I expect, what songs would he do! Of course being Alex's Birthday made it all the more special and standing at the front with such an awesome view was amazing and I feel very priviledged to have had that experience! As I seem to remember also, we'd had a rather hectic weekend so far celebrating his Birthday (the gig was a Saturday) after family meal on the Friday and of course present-opening and a relaxing morning on the Saturday. Arrived in Manchester with the intention of doing a spot of shopping and having a lovely meal out and then I asked casually, as you do...whether Alex had remembered the tickets... but no! in all the rush and confusion he had forgotten them! So we just had time to drive back home, get the tickets, get back to Manchester and eat out! But an amazing day all the same and I'm sure Alex will agree with me.

Anyway, to return to reality slightly (because I'm sure you're already getting fed up of me waffling) and continue responding to your post, that gig on May 12th (Saturday) was actually the second one of the tour which was on May 10th (I remember because Alex (who was my other half at the time) went to both of them...well, as well as tonnes of others!) so this time last year we'd be now recovering from both of the first two Manchester dates :D

Thinking about it is getting me ever so looking forward to July!! :cheer:

Is there a possibility you could call them maybe? Just to 'remind' them you still exist but just saying something along the lines of as you'd not heard from them you wanted to make sure there hadn't been a problem with them getting hold of you / you were just checking your shifts - something along those lines? I can imagine it must be very stressful not knowing - good luck!

I did, I sent it off. But I have not heard anything yet.
Think I will go to the job centre tomorrow and explain
what's been happening because I didn't think they could
just do that, I thought it poliet to ring the person and
say if they don't want them working there anymore because
at the moment I'm in limbo, I don't know if I am coming or
going, if I have a job or not or whatever, it's all in the air.
Like I said earlier it would have been better if they rang to
sack me even at least I would know !!
Running out of money isn't exactly a thrilling prospect either...

Ho hum !
