Unfortunately they can do that, if you're part time staff then you come second below the full time staff who have priority on shifts being offered to them. My job at an arts centre is the same...if we have events on then we're busy and I'm needed, like this week, and if there's no events they don't call...sometimes I don't hear from them for weeks, sometimes i have to turn down shifts because there's too many to fit around my degree, which is why it can't be your only source of income but more of a top up to something more consistant

Apparently it was so packed with Glaswegians today that the trams couldn't move through the city center!

allrevvedup 14 May 2008 22:08

well i wouldn't expect manchester to actually have people from manchester there...most man utd fans don't even live there

AndyK 14 May 2008 22:10

most Man Utd fans just exist where ever they are rather than live

With that in mind RJ i saw on a german tv channel that our hotel had in dubrovnik showing the worst football song i have ever heard and video i have ever seen and that's saying something. Can't remember who it was by but the song was translated as something like bring it home...or something like that.

RJ congrats on finishing all the exams! Go and celebrate!

I tried to read back the past few pages...

Emma did you sort things out with your job? And when you say Michael do you mean MB? (I don't confess this to many people but I was a member of his fan club many years ago - seen him live a few times (in concert and in Passion - do you remember that?! Lol) so very chuffed for you that you got to meet him :-))

Deb you're keeping me in total suspense with your guessing game and I don't think I have the intelligence to figure it out! Hope whatever it is, is right though if it makes lots of Debs-world happiness! :-)

Everyone else - Hi. Sorry for missing you out if there was something of national importance to respond to, but Hiya anyway! Here, have a random emoticon-> :0mghi2u:

Grrr I hate call centres - going thru several levels of 'if this press 1, if this press 2' to be held on hold for ages on an 0845 number (small fortune from my mobile), and subjected to random music. someone should create a call centre where if I have to hold this long i can pick the music i listen to!

~Helen~ 16 May 2008 13:13

Still on hold :(

Apparently they are sorry they have not yet been able to answer my call. Their customer service team are aware that I am waiting and will be with me shortly.

Yeah right.

AndyK 16 May 2008 13:31

Wait till you spend 2+ hours like that only to get cut off at the end of it! As some of us did when Plymouth went on sale, phoned them in Cheshire set off for London and got cut off in Warwickshire!

Eurgh! No thanks! I've decided 30+ minutes on hold is more than enough for me. I've given up! Better things to do with my day (and money!)...so I'm off to the gym!! (yes, really)
