Yeah! It was a dig at Man Utd as he was hoping Shrek would end up there rather than signing for the Glazers and playing at the Theatre of Dreamworks in a red shirt again.

Last concert I saw would have been Fozzy at the Middlesbrough Empire. Was a great concert, very high energy some fantastic music and a great experience. Next up for me is War Of The Worlds live and then barely two weeks later I'm off to see Meat himself!

Nice one, Fozzy are excellent! Did you catch the support band, Symphony Cult? If so, I'm intrigued to see your opinion of them...

My last gig was Goo Goo Dolls at Glasgow Academy and they were absolutely fantastic. I last saw them about 3 years or so ago and I'd forgotten just how brilliant they are live, very much enjoyed it. Next up is Deftones tomorrow.

Imelda May at The Colston Hall in Bristol back in February.

A really good show. I think she's a fantastic performer.

Sue K 09 Apr 2011 13:15

It had to be 'Imself and the band last... July, was it ? It seems it was so long ago and far away ... lol ... xo

Battybarb 09 Apr 2011 20:50

was Meat Loaf in Newcastle last year and it was awesome

tribrats 09 Apr 2011 21:47

My last one was in September. It was Toby Keith/Trace Adkins. Jaron and the Long Road to Love opened. Love all three of those guys!

Going to see Mark Chesnutt in May

I have a list of 4 must-see-before-I-die's and I've now seen 2.

I've seen Alabama and Toby Keith. Now to see Meat and Neal McCoy.

Have to update. Just saw Mark Chesnutt a couple weeks ago. The main band was stranded in Tennessee due to the flooding so they just used guitars and a fiddle.

WOW! Still an awesome show!

RoknRollJesus 01 Jun 2011 16:13

Caught Foxy Shazam, fun and Panic! at the Disco last night!

Good stuff all around! Panic! was awesome and Foxy Shazam is not to be missed.

Rock Around The Clock

It was right up my street, quite often think I was born in the wrong Era, I love all the greats especially Elvis and some I don't know the artists but I know and love the songs, it was a really brilliant feel good show if your into your Rock 'N' Roll  !!

Hypnobabe 20 Jun 2011 00:08

Not been yet, unless you're reading this in just over a week, but a certain other forum member and I are off to Bristol a week tomorrow to see Bon Jovi... Did I hear somebody say Diamond Circle tickets!???!?!!!!

(just a little bit excited....)

MeatGrl1 24 Jun 2011 02:37

Tuesday and Wednesday I was at RAH seeing a certain Mr. Ball  !!

Hypnobabe 30 Jun 2011 00:00

Bon Jovi on Monday down at Ashton Gate stadium in Bristol, with Cathie... Absolutely fantastic show, my amazing hubby bought us Diamond Circle tickets as an anniversary pressie, so we were about six people back from the stage, and I got some brilliant pictures, which are up on my Facebook page. Jon did the whole show with a big brace on his knee from where he sprained one of the ligaments in it during a show in Helsinki, I've seen the video of him injuring it and have to say he's incredibly professional - one yelp of pain and then he completed the song!

I'm thrilled to bits to have seen that show from that close, I got a pic of Jon that looks as though he's looking right at me *swoon* (obviously he was, it's because I had my hair done specially before I went) and he sang nearly all of my favourites. Best start saving for the next tour then!

lisakelleher060412 30 Jun 2011 17:12

I saw Take That in Croke Park in June of this year.

BostonAngel 08 Jul 2011 03:07

Haven't gone yet. I will be going to see Motley Crue with Poison and The New York dolls on July 19th. Nikki Sixx and Bret Michaels at the same show - be still my heart!

roomster 08 Jul 2011 03:12

Roxette, tonight in Stavern, Norway.

A great concert! :D

JennaG 08 Jul 2011 10:05

I saw Neil Diamond in Birmingham on 28th June.

He was good and I enjoyed the show but I didn't get that 'wow' feeling that I was hoping to get from seeing someone I've liked for so long. I'll admit that the best concert I've ever been to was on my mind and I kept thinking that Neil wasn't capturing my attention like a certain someone did.

Awesome, awesome show! I saw it last September.

My last concert was Peter Frampton at Ravina Park; he played all of "Frampton Comes Alive" to celebrate the album's 35th anniversary. I loved it! :D

Next up...Paul McCartney on Aug. 1. :-)

My last was probably Meat last July in Hershey PA... No need to say how great THAT was... lol ... and I have a NEXT !!! I'm seeing The Monkees Aug 31 2011 and very looking forward to it. I have a nosebleed seat so I think I'm going to do the giggly fan thing and get there very early to check out the ins and outs of the place before the show ... ...

Roger Daltrey at Marlay Park in Dublin, last night.

Good show, he played Tommy all the way through (which was ok but not something i'd go out and buy) The other Who songs he played and covers were really good.

We had a good meet and greet with him before the show as well, really nice guy.

BostonAngel 28 Jul 2011 08:11

Last concert for me was on July 19th. The tix was a gift from a friend. Saw Motley Crue with Poison and The New York Dolls. The drum roller coaster that Tommy Lee plays is absolutely insane to see. Nikki Sixx said "Drums should not be played upside down." Thank goodness Tommy does. The Crue rocked!!! Awesome show

The same thing happened to me when I saw Huey Lewis on July 19th, the night after I had seen Meat at the Count Basie Theatre. I used to get that 'wow' feeling from them, but it actually a little bit of a let down after the amazing concert the night before

juniper 06 Nov 2011 19:43

Chicago, they were phenomenal, the sound was beyond anything I've ever heard in a live concert (I've not seen Meat in concert). It was a semi-small outdoor venue and they were awesome.

Around the same time I saw Crosby, Stills and Nash, who haven't changed in years, they sounded fabulous.

 Jo and I saw Bill Bailey at the Liverpool Echo Arena last night.
Great view from the front row

Highlights of the night were when Bill performed Hallelujah in the style of Kraftwerk, and when one of his horns went a bit funny when he was playing a tune on a collection of old fashioned car horns. He played the song twice but the horn hit a flat note on both occassions. The crowd loved it and Bill was laughing his head off and ended up slumping to the floor in a fit of giggles and hiding under a large cloth in mock shame.
He went for it a third time and played the song all the way through perfectly and got a big round of applause for it.
Great night watching a very funny guy 8)

He didn't have a very long set (Or maybe I'm just spoilt by Meat & AC/DC ) because he's had a few heart issues in the last couple of years and I'm guessing he may not have had the insurance to cover going longer, or possibly due to the venue licence, after all it was in a zoo in the middle of the city lol.

He did a few Cold Chisel numbers, some of his really well known solo stuff but no Stone Cold. All in all it was a really good show.

The Set List:

Love & Hate
Time Will Tell
I'd Die To Be With You Tonight
Lover Lover
Merry Go Round
Flame Trees
Lay Down Your Guns
Dead Heart
Ride The Night Away
You Got Nothin' I Want
Resurrection
I'm Still On Your Side
Driving Wheels
Working Class Man

encore
Khe Sanh
Goodbye

I just got home from Florence and the Machine, and boy do I owe Meat a thanks for that.

If he hadn't mentioned how good she was in an interview somewhere at some stage I honestly never would have gone. A lot of my friends like her, but I never bothered.

Well, I've been missing out. What a fantastic, amazing voice! She had that whole place like putty in her hands, literally if she said jump they jumped ha ha.

Even I was completely mesmerized by what was going on up on the stage. My aunty was noticing all sorts of things that were happening in the crowd and the line that went past us, but me? I didn't notice any of that.

She went off befoe the encore, gouged a massive hole in her foot backstage, was carried back onto the stage and finished the encore. She still managed to dance around, but had to be carried back off.

She was fantastic, chatting with the crowd and just genuinely having fun. She kept saying "This place is so big, there are so many of you here..." Lol

I'm glad I went.
