Even Meat confessed he is low key but it's good enough to the fans. Am I the only critic to say it is not enough? |
My impression of what this show will be is a retrospective of Meat's career. I don't get the impression it's a "concert" but one of a Vegas show with video montages, set and costume changes, live songs with and without Meat, and the Q&A. I'm I far off?
If this was to be recorded I would want a great copy and not some crappy bootleg. I can't wait for Vegas! |
Did I read/hear somewhere that the stories are aimed more towards Meat's acting career rather than his music? Did he say it in a meet and greet or have I made it up?!

I think Paul posted something on Facebook earlier, about a pic of Meat & Gene Simmons and that Meat would be talking about it during the show... but I haven't heard anything about him talking more about the acting stuff
|
It was just a passing comment that was floating around in the back of my head...I might even have dreamt it!
|
Like your hotel in Newmarket ?
|
You sod
With regards to the "branding" of Vegas, I am LOVING the old style Meat Loaf logo, it's like it's come full circle! |
Something I've always been wondering...
What is the difference between logos ? I hear "NEW" "OLD" 80s" thrown around and NO idea what they mean. Can someone post visual description/ explanation? |
Yes you are pretty far off , no live songs without me , there is a Q&A but still pretty far off, still opening with 64 and up to dead ringer . Then I'm going to take you for a ride !!

If "White of High " doesn't like me, for 10 years now, why does he come and post on here ? Just a simple question. as far as keys go , Bat , paradise, took the words are in the same key as they were recording 37 years ago , why? because I can still hit the notes . ( most of the time :-) . My speaking voice changed in 1993 as well as my singing voice when they took a bone out of my nose . It was a small bone !!
Meat |
The producers brought up today filming the show , don't know if it will happen but they did bring it up in a conversation .
Meat |
So the plan is to answer questions from the audience & steer the convo into a song from your set list. What if the question is out-and-out bizarre? Will you answer anyway and then say "okay and the next song is..."? ;) What is Plan B for something like that? LOL
|
they might film the Vegas shows? I'll never get to Vegas but I'd buy the video.

@anotherday re: logos
The original logo/font is shorter and wider. Bat 2 until Hang Cool (don't quote me, not got it to hand!) is taller and thinner. A few 80's releases used completely different fonts but in terms of the "proper" logo that's the difference. |

Hang Cool and HIAHB have the current rasterized font. |

I do really like Lemon, but I'm not sure that just the back half is better than hearing the whole of Red Light. Then again I don't really like medleys full stop. I reckon Hot Patootie, Red Light, Dead Ringer would be an excellent opening but now I'm veering into Warioland. |

Amen !!! Yes I would like to think that I am a little more clever, than to just say our next song is . Don't believe I have ever done that .
M Deena, I've heard Meat field some pretty bizarre questions. I think that is where his ad lib stand up comedy shines very brightly. Perhaps the plan B is part of plan A? ;)[/QUOTE] |

Now.....as far as questions from the audience goes in Vegas...I'm sure your sense of good judgement will keep you from calling on ME! You are far too wise to risk the potential damage to your career. LOL

Happy Tuesday meatie peeps... and Meat ... xo
It was sometime in 1993 and Howard Stern was interviewing some guy on his show and he started to talk about being in Hair ... My ears immediately pricked up... He was talking my generation and of a fave show of mine ... Who is this guy... I wondered ... and why was every one laughing when he backpedaled so quickly saying ... nooooo... he hadn't done the nude scene ? I hadn't a clue who he was... This is a "rock" guy ? ... He sounded so interesting and funny ... Then a bit of the music was played... I didn't know the name of the tune at the time... The little ditty that turned to be Anything For Love... but ... hmmm... I found it interesting ... and will I take you there ? ... I'll take you there... lol ... One day on the tv came the video... a mini movie ... with a Beauty and the Beast concept... a childhood and to this day... fave tale of mine ... I watched with delight... enjoyed the music... and then the end came ... and the hood went back and... the grown up woman in me went ... WHOA... who IS that guy ???? ... and the rest... as they say... lol ... is history ... SO... all that said... my love of Loaf started with a rock tale... and I stayed for the rest of the story ...
And indeed ... the perfect Storytelller has been selected by Planet Hollywood to start the series of tales in Vegas ... Love and luck to Meat and the band !!! ... xo |
Ya know...we are LONG overdue for a Meat Loaf appearance on Howard Stern! OMG, could you imagine Meat and Howard uncensored?!?! Radio Gold!

I found the bit about Meat not knowing Bonnie Tyler sang on A Kiss Is A Terrible Thing To Waste a bit odd. It's good to read an interview by someone who actually knows their shit for a change.

Would be awesome - but probably not enough time - I would prefer Brave & Crazy with 'new' Steinman songs to be honest. Though if a rerecorded best of Dead Ringer with other obscure Steinman tracks could be an end of career finale then ...
ML: I have seriously considered re-recording DEAD RINGER three or four times now, actually, since you mention it - but, I'd have to have Cher again if I did it. I don't know where those original tapes are - if I did, I would use those tapes and pull Cher off [and use it]. ML: Yep. If I could find those tapes I'd do it! I sing better now than I do in '81. |

Another great interview about Vegas .... and talk of a possible DVD !
http://www.pollstar.com/news_article.aspx?ID=806908 |
This might be an unpopular opinion, but a DVD of a 90 minute show that will contain a fair amount of talk doesn't really kick me in the bollocks.
|
Quote:
It pleases me .. but then I loved the Storytellers DVD .. and can listen to Meat being entertaining and deftly turing questions to his advantage til the cows come home :) I think it will also please the many who can't make Vegas and have begged Meat for a DVD |

That's OK .. and when it starts to tire? .. let me know and I'll come round and kick you in the bollocks .. can't offer fairer than that

I know I'm not going to make it to Las Vegas to see the show and although watching a DVD is not the same as being there, I'm happy at the thought that I'll actually be able to watch what sounds like a very special show. |
I'll be pleased to see this recorded...any DVD is great to have (though it seems a travesty that Last At Bat wasn't captured, such a waste) but I'll be glad to have record of this new and different chapter of Meat's career

No idea if this has been posted here or not, and apologies if it has because, at the moment, I don't have the time to crawl back through the thread. Anyways, great little interview here :D

If I could suggest to those going to Las Vegas to stop by the Stratosphere Tower's Top of the World restaurant. It's a very good restaurant and is price right for the food that is served. You would never think it's as nice as it is just by looking at the casino. It has views that are unparalleled in LV and at night it's spectacular! The restaurants turn 360 degrees (very slowly) so you get to see the valley many times over. Make reservations first so you can by pass the tower fee to go up even if it's just for dessert. There are three amusement rides at the very top of the tower that I highly recommend plus the tower sky jump. I've also done that and it worth every penny!
