Simple answer to the seating plan plroblem ... don't have one. Apart from the "top table" let the other guests sit where the hell they want and with whoever they want, that way if they don't like who they're sat with they've only got themselves to blame.

That's exactly what we did. We got the obvious question from those who couldn't figure it out "where do I sit?" :tard: "on your arse and I don't care where" came the reply.

If people can't put aside their differences for one day for the sake of the bride & groom then they don't deserve to be there in the first place.

Emma ... lol:lol:

We did'nt have a seating plan ... people just sat were they wanted ... no arguments. We did'nt have the traditional top table either ... we sat where we wanted to too!

We had a lovely lovely day:D

Today my sister's boyfriend was told he didn't get the loan. So my sister had to go to my grandma and she gave her the 1,000 dollars to pay off the rest, so everything's still on schedule at the moment. I'm going to check into the throw away camera's and see how much that will cost, if it's not to much I'll get them. Oh yeah, my sister bought Superman garter belts, since her b/f is a huge Superman fan. Wonder when they are ~~~~ed if they'll fly faster then a speeding bullet.

Were also going to do up a somewhat seating chart since it's like 8 to 10 people at a table. I think we'll have a weird persons table as well. Were thinking we will have some uninvited guests as well. Another thing is fights, we might have a few of them as well since it's a open bar. Good thing is we can send them to the store across the street since they are open 24 hours or to the bar just a stone throw away. So anyone want to take bets on what may happen????

Does anyone have any ideas on how to word a wedding program so it will sound all lovely dovey, and nice sounding. I'm not coming up with anything good other then the normal "Today 2 hearts are becoming one" and stuff like that, I'm not to good when it comes to these things. I have till the 19th to get these darn things done since the 20th is the big day. I have another dumb question is wearing a white wrangler top and black jeans good to wear at a wedding? Since I hate/cring at the thought of wearing a dress unless it's my wedding. I haven't wore one since I was a kid and then I was forced into wearing some bad/tacky dresses and still haven't gotten over them.

Attire depends on your sister's wishes and as for the rest of it, try googling for some wedding organisation tips. Confetti.co.uk's supposed to be a helpful site. I know it's English and primarily a shop, but it has helpful info about planning and organising stuff for a wedding - see the 'Weddings' & 'Celebrate' tabs at the top :-)

Good luck, how long to your sister's big day now?

mszee 10 Sep 2008 13:50

I agree...dress code is usually determined by organizers of the party...it appears to me a bit casual for the wedding what you want to wear...

As to programs...google it and you will come up with just about everything "wedding" possible...

I don't know if you're going to announce wedding party in the program but if you do, it's always nice to put something in memory of those who can't be there if there are close relatives who passed away...goes down well...

That's lovely, I've lost two uncles over the past 3 years and the thought of them not being at my wedding is just crushing but I think I'd want them recognising as family members, even though they can't be there...

As for dress code, please please check with the happy couple Blackkat!!! Earlier this year my cousin got married in Cyprus, really quiet ceremony with just the bride and groom, both sets of parents and my cousin's young son. Beautiful location with gorgeous weather and everyone wore cream...another of my uncles and his wife (we're a big family!) were travelling at the time and scheduled their trip to be in Cyprus for the wedding as a surprise for my cousin, didn't check the dress code and on her photos is a beautiful beach, everyone in cream, and the surprise guests stood on the end in black

So, Lucy, now you know how you can honor those who no longer here...it is really really sweet, especially if theoe are your parents relatives...they will be touched...

LucyK! 10 Sep 2008 14:40

It's certainly a lovely idea...my only worry would be that if you do that for a special someone who's no longer with us, you then have to mention everyone that should have been there and isn't, on both sides of both the bride and groom's side of the family...could turn into a memorial service!

yeah, if you go with that kind of thing...then for sure...still nice though...usually people honor grandparents like this and in any event...just really close relatives and yes, on both sides...

AndrewG 10 Sep 2008 14:54

In Holland there is a saying: "Don't marry before you are 40." :))
