Sex and the City - It's great if you watched the series. The poor boyfriends/husbands in the audience didn't seem too happy though.

Since I last posted, I've watched Rocky III, Rocky IV, Rocky V and Rocky Balboa - anyone spotting a pattern here?

Yep, you've a penchant for somewhat dodgy films?

Hypnobabe 18 Jun 2008 11:58

It's more the case that I've watched everything else in the house six million times, and I hadn't ever seen them... Once you've seen the first, you've more or less got the gist of what happens in all the others, it has to be said, but I quite enjoy watching fit sweaty men using their muscles.... Especially Dolph Lundgren... I used to have quite a thing about him when I was much younger.... I think it was He-Man and the Masters of the Universe that did it for me... lol....

*suddenly realises that after an admission like that she can never show her face in here again*

It was my (ex-) boyfriend's idea to go and see it, honest!!!

Hypnobabe 19 Jun 2008 00:59

X-Men... currently watching X-Men 2, and realising that Brian Cox is playing virtually the same character he plays in the Bourne films...

Battybarb 20 Jun 2008 19:43

Watched "Dogma" in hospital, didnt really fancy it,but i enjoyed watching it..

funnily the last movie I saw was part 2 of that: Queen of the Damned.

Part one is waaaaaay better though.

Hypnobabe 22 Jun 2008 12:59

Actually RJ, if you want to be picky, Queen of the Damned is the third part of the Vampire Chronicles, the second is The Vampire Lestat, but nobody's made a film of that one...

Last movie I watched was The Phantom of the Opera...

The Flying Mouse 22 Jun 2008 15:35

 Cannibal The Musical.

Not as good as hoped

I know, was just talking about the movies here.
Although the books are on my to-read list, will see when I get around to read them. lol (have borrowed copies of silece of the lambs and shining lieing here for about six months now, should read them first lol.)

If we're talking books, Interview isn't bad, Lestat is okay, and QotD is pants...

SotL is pretty good, as is Red Dragon, Hannibal gets really silly, and I haven't even bothered with Hannibal Rising...

And Steve King's early stuff is very good, The Shining included, but avoid the middle stuff, (round about The Tommyknockers) and his later stuff is going off the boil a bit too... Would HIGHLY recommend The Gunslinger series however...

For me, last film was A Few Good Men.

I love SOTL, still makes my heart jump! Red Dragon I think is even better, and Hannibal fits well with them, but Hannibal Rising I thought was awful...we've watched it twice on DVD now and I still don't get it, it was the accents that threw me :?

Last film we saw was Guess Who, great film with the fabulous Bernie Mac, and before that it was Black Dog...

SamCat 23 Jun 2008 14:14

Manhunter is a very good film and many people consider Brian Cox's Hannibal creepier than Anthony Hopkins' one!!

24K 23 Jun 2008 18:59

pomegranate 23 Jun 2008 19:09

Seven. Had been wanting to see it for ages (I'm a big horror fan) and I was not impressed.

wolfy35 23 Jun 2008 19:21

Hancock. Good film but not Will Smith's best

24K 23 Jun 2008 20:04

I was wondering what that film would be like. I really like Will Smith:))
The ending in 7 was terrible, i hated the end.

RadioMaster 23 Jun 2008 20:40

Pledge this! with Amanda Aday

... what an awful movie ...

RadioMaster 23 Jun 2008 22:50

Wayne's World

veeeery funny movie, with a very small part for the Loaf.

was pleased to see Ed O'Neil in it though

The film is good and very enjoyable but for me Will Smith put in such good performances in Independence day and I am legend everything else will be measured against those two

wolfy35 24 Jun 2008 11:52

Futurama, The beast with a billion backs

So much funnier than the Simpsons Movie. I think Matt Groening should bring back Futurama as a series when the next two films are finished

24K 24 Jun 2008 11:59

Saw 4, i am still confused, still it doesn't take much;)

The Slipper And The Rose
With Richard Chamberlain

http://i32.tinypic.com/11idffc.jpg

I had no idea this was a musical, neither was I aware it was based on Cinderella but I was very pleasently surprised, I got it free with a paper and never seemed to have gotten round to viewing it, but I love it. I especially love this song;

YouTube Video

:))

allrevvedup 06 Jul 2008 03:52

seen three this week.

Chronicles of Narnia : Prince I may be a younger version of Enrique Inglesies

which was good but not as good as the first of these recent releases

Incredible Hulk...very good, i'm in love with Liv Tyler and Ed Norton played the character well...haven't seen the first film and don;t want to.

Hancock...good start, obviously middle, crazy end..not an all out comedy...warn the kids now folks

MeatGrl1 06 Jul 2008 14:59

Titan AE as John Leguizamo voices one of the characters... It was crap  !

Sister Act, followed by Sister Act 2...

samurai7 08 Jul 2008 02:29

Kung Fu Panda. Not bad at all.

firefly 09 Jul 2008 10:51

Roadie

Battybarb 09 Jul 2008 11:07

i just love that film.could watch it over and over

Skeleton 09 Jul 2008 11:52

Jurassic Park

Cathie 09 Jul 2008 12:34

Saw "Wanted" in New York, that was a slightly surreal experience. Like the system better there though, they show all the adverts as you walk in so instead of half an hour of adverts, you get half an hour of trailers, was brillient.

The film itself was a bit hit and miss though, very good in places, great stunts, but there were one or two bits that seemed a bit out of place and the training sequence was tedious.

Hypnobabe 10 Jul 2008 11:20

Cold Mountain

RadioMaster 13 Jul 2008 11:13

#1) Tales from the Crypt: What's cookin?
Not bad.....was interesting to see Meat Loaf in a movie with Christopher Reeve...
and the Ladies might be interested....he has a nude scene (sort of) :yikes:

#2) Monsters: Where's the Rest of me?
Veeery bad.....
The Loaf get's his heart ripped out :D

#3) Pleasure Drivers
even worse. lol very weird movie....dont know if I even got it :?
dont feel the urge to watch it again.
Very boring Loaf-death-scene though.

MeatGrl1 13 Jul 2008 13:03

 Atonement with the lovely Keira Knightley, I was close to tears again at the end it is so sad :(

mszee 14 Jul 2008 08:59

The Other Boleyn Girl...and I wish I didn't...but then again...it's your history that got murdered in that movie...lol

Sue K 14 Jul 2008 15:01

... The Cell... featuring Vincent D'Onofrio ...

MeatGrl1 14 Jul 2008 15:10

 Mamma Mia and what's even more spiffy during Dancing Queen though very breif there is Benny Andersson on the piano :yay:

GO SEE it is fab  even if Peirce Brosnan can't really sing it's a good feel good movie and very funny !

MeatGrl1 15 Jul 2008 07:11

In my haste I forgot to mention that I noticed one slight song change from stage to screen. In the play Sophie has a dream, this leads into one of my favourite ABBA tracks Under Attack, was sad this did not make the movie however thought it was clever how they changed that with, When All Is Said And Done. Just wanted to add that, want the soundtrack.

RadioMaster 18 Jul 2008 16:41

Outside Ozona

pretty good actually, though it took a while to get started.

And amazingly its one of the few movies the Loaf doesnt die in.

mszee 19 Jul 2008 09:37

Mamma Mia...great great entertainment!!!

Hypnobabe 19 Jul 2008 18:34

Midsummer Night's Dream, from the Shakespeare Retold series... Have never seem MSND before, in any shape or form - quite enjoyed it!

 Heathers.

"Now that you're dead, what are you going to do with the rest of your life?"

RadioMaster 22 Jul 2008 22:19

Dead Man's Gun: Mail Order Bride

not bad actually, but very different to the usual Loaf-movies.
Liked the ending, was unexpected.

(thanks Michael)

Siobhan 25 Jul 2008 00:33

Mother Knows best...
it was just on tv when I was trying to pack this afternoon

RadioMaster 25 Jul 2008 23:33

Trapped.

typlical b-movie, better than I expected though. The idea of the camera was quite interesting. Though you knew the end of the movie after the first 15 minutes.
The Loaf did some fine acting, but his death scene was very quick and you actually didnt really see how it happened :(

AndrewG 25 Jul 2008 23:48

Are you having a Meat Loaf movie season RJ? Lol.

RadioMaster 26 Jul 2008 11:06

not as good as I expected.
I think after the fifth incarnation of the scary movie idea it just isnt fresh anymore.
