grrr - can't go out for lunch because there's no one in the office and the patroller cadet can't get back in otherwise (we don't let them have keys). granted i could just let him stay outside but i don't think that'd be a wise idea since i feel respnsible for them as they're college kids and it's me that has to supervise them (yes, supervise them...aren't they lucky beggars?!) when they're on placement here! still...might risk a run up to the toaster to make some crumpets before i die of hunger...

Edit: i'm not btw, making a 'run up' to the toaster...the toaster is upstairs, hence running up to get to it :-P

SamCat 07 Jun 2008 23:54

Fireworks were later tonight which was a shame cos it meant my friend stayed later lol!!!

MeatGrl1 08 Jun 2008 00:23

It seems to be pretty quiet here for a minute .

Anyway seems like I've got things moving, I signed up on whenever it was, Wednesday I think. I handed in my CV to a hotel and to this recruitment agency and after some help got this application form into Morrison's. But hopefully I will have money for my concerts .
It's been pretty boring beside that, went to the park Monday and Friday and that was fun. I love it this time of year there's all little baby ducklings and Morehen chicks out.

~Helen~ 08 Jun 2008 03:54

Awesome firework pics! Especially the last one!

As for haircuts, my hairdresser can take a couple of hours to cut mine, but he's lovely and we have a good natter so I don't mind. :-) I do however from time to time cut other people's hair, and used to regularly do a (now ex-) boyfriend's hair (not Alex) - he'd had a few bad experiences with barbers (that he'd paid for) and soon realised the advantages of having me do it - aside of the fact that I'm a perfectionist so there wasn't a strand out of place I also wasn't charging. But he didn't half used to moan it was taking a long time - OF COURSE it took a long time, I am not actually a hairdresser and was actually doing it neatly - what do you want for free?!! :O

Emma - really glad to hear things are looking up and you have a few avenues now that might lead to jobs - best of luck, I hope something decent comes up soon! :-)

~Helen~ 08 Jun 2008 04:01

And now I'm off to bed having just spent probably quarter of an hour trying to, of sorts, break into my parents' house. The last thing you want when you get in at 2.30am is to find they've left the bloody key in the otherside of the lock :wtf:. After trying and failing to push their key through with mine, I tried the arms through the letter box approach but despite having fairly skinny arms, I do not however have arms that bend in weird ways, so couldn't reach the keys to either unlock the door or remove the keys. Using my car arial (most convenient stick-type devise!) to try to fish the keys out of the lock wasn't proving successful either and it was this point my mother woke up (despite me trying to be quiet, there is only so quiet you can be with both arms and an arial shoved through a letter box pulling at keys!) and let me in having come down to find out what the noise was. Fortunately there is glass in the door and she could see it was me rather than thinking I was some burglar! :O:tired::zzz:

Took me (complete novice) less than ten mins to fit new sunroof glass to our car...

To put it in context the ford dealer wanted to charge £111.50...

And they would only fit new glass costing £330...

Got mine from breakers for £43 including postage...

Feckin scam artists!!!!!!!

Mine came back within 3 weeks when I renewed it at the beginning of the year. Will take longer at this time of year though as more people renew theirs or apply for their first one just before going on holiday...

Hayfever feels really bad today :( everything on my face seems to itch. Despite copious antihistamines and whatnot...which do make a huge difference they just don't solve everything.

*ponders* hmmm hayfever remedies that solve EVERYTHING...like problems with houses and relationships and employment...for a start... now that WOULD be good...!

Because they know we're daft enough to pay it?!

Trying not to think about that, we've just done Springsteen shows front row with 2 and a half hours of constant music for £50 a ticket...these guitar picks we're getting this summer better be made from gold!

happens to me loads of times...sometimes the postman doesnt even bother to ring to doorbell, they just bring it right back to the sorting office.

Bloody garage, the amount of times i go in there and the lazy git on the night shift wouldn't go and get me some cat litter and he wouldn't let me in to get it either so now i've got no litter, 2 trays with just newspaper in and 2 grumpy cats!!

MeatGrl1 10 Jun 2008 01:02

Why do I get random mad people ????

I was walking on the hills earlier and this lady ran past me, thought nothing of it then she stops and comes back and tells me;

"Hi I'm Debbie and I'm a Christian and
I wanted you to know that God really loves
you."

:wtf:, er Thanks. Then she goes on to say that she didn't know where I stood with religion but as she ran past me Jesus told her to tell me that.

Why do I always attract strange people.. Started on-line and now seems to be in real life.... IDK I thought it was a little weird that this lady who does not know me from Adam says this to me... !
