knackered and work at 5... feck

MissAsh 29 Aug 2008 18:06

In future, if you're going to write an important confirmation number down on a bit of paper, write it in the notebook on the desk rather than some random envelope. Doh.

Also, there are better ways to test if your smoke detector is working than forgetting about that pan that's boiling on the cooker...

totally disagree... envelopes and random scraps of paper are the best places to write any important information

works for me anyway :p

btw, great fun to send annoying texts to carl knowing he can't reply

No but I never leave the house unless I have make-up on it's a self conscious thing.

Lol I rarely leave the house without me face on either! Might if it's a run early Sunday morning though....I'm so fast no one'll see me anyway - haha!

Yes it is but it's cheap and work's doorbell...and I've already practically taken the bell part apart but all I can do is alter the volume...so now I just take it as one of the quirks of working in my office.

Yeah his patheticness amused me to a certain extent, but then I thought, why the hell should he be allowed to get away with being so abusive towards people. His videos all require authorisation before messages can be posted there, which means he filters them, and I'm sure writes half of them himself anyway. And then he goes around slandering other tribute acts who are undeniably better (and also better people) than he is. He goes around saying he's the number one act and it concerns me that people might believe it, or think Meat Loaf is anything like him! But above all, he shouldn't be allowed to get away with abusing people online in the manner in which he does.

An open day you attended and they explain what they are about and give you a tour around the venue and if I'm lucky I'll be handling animals too .
It's quite exciting actually looking forward to it.

Thanks Betty *HUGS*.

Aw hope you have a nice time and do get to handle some animals! Did you think about working in a vets since you seem quite enthusiastic about it?

MeatGrl1 30 Aug 2008 14:21

I like the caring side and the nurturing them back to health but I couldn't be a nurse, too squimish.

~Helen~ 30 Aug 2008 14:31

lol I'm the same. would be the worst nurse ever as the patients would be having to pick me up off the floor. I can't even watch casualty / ER etc - and I KNOW it's not real!

hmm...no animal sanctuaries / RSPCA type places near you then? not that I'm trying to find you a job, just that you seem enthusiastic about it. I have a friend whose part time job whilst he was at uni was at a dogs kennels - cleaning the kennels, feeding the animals, walking them etc. He loved it - and now he's left has his own dog and cat which he idolises!

AndrewG 30 Aug 2008 14:43

Car needs to going to the ~~~~ing body shop now. Thanks very much Kwik Fit!

~Helen~ 30 Aug 2008 14:55

what did kwik fit do?

mine got keyed again on thursday - this time on the boot, think I'm getting past caring now :-(

AndrewG 30 Aug 2008 15:03

While checking alignment they decided to drive my car into one of their concrete poles. Damage on side panels. It could have been a lot worse I guess. I can still drive it but car looks like shit now. Furthermore they managed to snap of one of the wheel bolts so I am driving on 3 brand new tires and have a brand new tire in the boot and need to go to Mazda dealer to get old bolt drilled out. Another £100 quid on top of £330 quid for tires and god knows how much for body repairs. I estimate £1000, I should get that back though.

Sorry to hear about your car. Why do people do that?!!!!

~Helen~ 30 Aug 2008 15:16

OMG! That's terrible, I hope you don't have to foot the bill considering they caused the damange :-(

[RANT]And I dunno why my car got done this time...last time I suspect it's because somebody objected to me being parked outside their house. Bugs me that people who live in terraces consider they have some ultimate right to park outside their own house (in my job I am regularly receiving calls from people complaining about vehicles parked outside their houses!) - and yes I KNOW it's annoying if you can't park outside your house but if you buy a terrace without parking and own a car that's something you have to factor into the equation. And before anyone says anything, I'm buying a terrace. It doesn't have parking. I don't expect to be able to have my car right outside my house at all times (although I'll be cycling to work...which will help with parking!)[/RANT]

AndrewG 30 Aug 2008 15:24

Yeah I fully understand that. It's one of those things that always put me of terraced houses, but to do that keying is just . Whoever did that, if that person attempted something like that again while the ownder of the car would see he/she could be in big trouble.

~Helen~ 30 Aug 2008 16:01

I console myself hoping they will be eaten up by guilt. and if not guilt, then lions.

Battybarb 30 Aug 2008 19:40

MeatGrl1 31 Aug 2008 00:29

I feel that the open day went well and has inspired me to persue my dream (well one of them, my biggest and longest has been to go to Graceland but that is another thing altogether  ) and work with animals, the nice male nurse that mum and I spoke to let me know of a course that we certainly haven't heard of before called the ANA course which has currently escaped me now but it allows me to work and get paid and go to colleage once a week and that seems feesable. Also I need to look over my colleage stuff because in that I have certain things that would be of interest for this line of work, I have washed and bathed a cat, as I remember it didn't like it but it's a skill I can add, I have mucked out an avery and cleaned kennals and all this I need to jot down and with help need to present this in a letter which I can give into vets.
So all in all I feel it was a very good day and another thing he said is that I shouldn't let anyone tell me that I need to have qualifications because I don't, and yes GCSE's came at really the wrong time for me so I don't have good grades. But I feel like there is a whole new world there now :)).

Off button is via start (round windows thingy, bottom left) and then the arrow / triangle next to the padlock picture, bottom right of the menu. Vista does take a bit of getting used to, and if you're used to XP you might hate it. But if it's replacing Windows 98 for you, it's a dream. All a matter of perspective ;)

AndrewG 31 Aug 2008 15:15

YouTube sucks btw, well at least in several ways imo. It doesn't even have a status bar when uploading, something I had to integrate / program for a videosharing site at my work a year ago.

MeatGrl1 31 Aug 2008 17:29

Feel like I'm misunderstood today :(.

Door handle came off in my hands and luckily it was repared before mum came back to the house... Seems like my happy days are over and it's just going to go down hill from here  !!

Oh and she insulted MB and that upset me, she knows that I wait all week for his radio programme and that I tape it, so why is it today it annoys her ?!

I feel today my song is On My Own sung by Eponine in Les Mis, it just captures how I feel;
