In a press conference today, the Royal Society for the Blind first announced that their new test for blindness is "Can you see a full-size goal from 3 yards", and then revealed a new sponsorship deal for Darren Bent.

Police are hunting for the thieves who stole the contents of the Sunderland FC trophy room ... if you're approached by anyone attempting to sell you a shelf and a roll of carpet please call CrimeStoppers.

daveake 20 Jan 2009 15:46

David Blaine is apparently gutted at the minute. He has discovered his 44 day record of doing nothing at all in a box has been smashed by Darren Bent.

I believe that this is a President the likes of which we haven't seen in many many years...unfortunately, everybody expects the new administration to fix what was in ruins for 8 years - in 5 minutes flat...

I should really start getting ready to go to work...

Bought Celiné Dion My Love The Essential Collection today, sadly It's All Coming Back To Me Now is the edited version, so looks like I'll get the Falling Into You album at some point, I have it on cassette and love it but as I can't really play cassettes anymore it's like I don't have it if you know what I mean and was proud to find out that Todd and Kasim are part of the background vocals on IACBTMN... Cool :cool:.

Think I'm getting conjuctivitis which isn't cool :down:, eye feels a bit itchy and eyeball is looking read... Beautiful !!

And finally the prospect of wearing THOSE shoes for four hors tonight is not very appealing but it's money :roll: :lol: !!

That is very true of course ;).

Damn this eye has gone a bit gunkey now :(.

Shift went OK yesterday though someone came in that I REALLY did not want to see, someone from my past whom I now absolutely hate with a passion but not going into details here but as I was the only one on the till we had to speak to each other and I was poliet and answered her questions but yeah that was a little uneasy.
Working again today, 2-6PM, awesome :cool:.

Just checking a few things before getting dressed to go to town.

Having to come back home & go back to work after a couple of fantastic gigs is such a buzzkill. What a great couple of nights though!

meatloaf-unofficial 22 Jan 2009 16:35

Boy its been a while since I posted here... you ready for it??? :lol:
~~~~~
Dont you just love being lied to? Sorry but when someone says something to you, like what happened to me today, (I wont go into details) and then you find out they have lied to you, or the person has made a VERY quick recovery, withn hours, and you see them out, doesn't it make you lightly angry?
Personally, I dont like being lied to and never will like it. If your not wanting to do something or somet, then why dont people just say it, "sorry I cant do it today" etc... instead of making up an excuse... I just dont see the point.
Makes you wonder if what I'm meant to be doing Monday is one of their "lying truths" or if it is the truth - if so, great :D
Hmmm...know how how you feel. Used to have a friend who would often call ME to ask to meet up...and then text or email ON THE DAY to call off for various reasons (which happened 4 or 5 times running at one point) (forgot it was their ice skating lesson [how do you forget that?], dying of flu, too much on at work...various things). I don't bother agreeing times to meet up now!
Lol - could you have loaned it to someone? - i often think i've lost things, give them up as lost and gone for ever and then some years later a friend says to me "i've still got that xyz of yours, came across it the other day tidying up, you must take it back home with you"
alternatively, living with my parents, i find my mother in particular likes to tidy things away / pick them up and forget she has them or what she's done with them. I was blamed for over 10 years for the loss of a pair of scissors which turned out to be in mother's knitting bag (that's right, she hadn't knitted in 10+ years)...i also thought for months i'd lost my driving license and was on the brink of contacting dvla to get a new one, when something leaked in my mum's handbag and on emptying her bag, she discovered she had my driving licence. apparently she'd thought it was hers (which was also in her bag). i'd've thought the name would have given that one away but apparently she wasn't looking at it with glasses on...and it was still my fault as i must have left it laying around somewhere!
I think though, that there is an evil fairy somewhere that comes along and hides my stuff. and the tidier i am, the more stuff it hides. little things i can understand how i can misplace them (maybe), but i seem to lose clothes these days...they can only be in the cupboard, the washer or the laundry basket surely? (well...or on the floor from time to time, i do confess).
No, I am very protective over the people and things I love.
Val Kilmer is one of my favourite actor's so if I loaned out a film of his I'd be on tender hooks till I had it back in my possession !! No it's in my room somewhere, I just have lots and lots of vids that I taped from the TV.
~Helen~ 25 Jan 2009 13:33
Congrats on the fun channel Chris, and i hope you find that tape soon Meatgrl..it niggles losing them doesn't it? Specially when technically it shouldn't be possible to in one room!
I don't worry...I found it eventually...well or my friend did, who is much better at finding things than I am, and I rewarded her with chocolate. i seem to recall it was under something...bed or desk or chair...guess not many things it could have been under, but there was an awful lot of stuff in the room!
The pic is great - two very proud parents in that photo! :-)
another draw, though slightly better since we came back from a goal down...just going to have to get out of the rut...if we play like we did in the second half we will beat more teams then not
Glad you like it Helen. I was hoping it captured the happiness they were feeling.:-)
Glad you found the clarinet too. I have nightmares that i've lost my violin from time to time. I hate them because my grandpa left it to me.
