Have just watched tenacious d thought it was ok. Funny in part's Meat was good in his two minutes worth. I thought it would be better than it was but it's still worth watching.

Not a movie, but have just watched Planet Earth, then Robin Hood on BBC (with footie results in between. We won!:weee: :cheer:). Planet Earth diaries was a scream, it showed you the cameraman trying to get birdseye shots of some trees in madagascar using a hot air ballon with a bench attached to it, piloted by a Frenchman. They crashed into the tree, heard lots of beeps before they got out of it. Camera cut to producer who was watching from a distance in disbelief, then said "was rather worried when I saw them heading for the tree then heard Dani (Frenchman) going 'oh la la la la', but they're alright!" Then went to cameraman and pilot:
C: You OK?
P: Yes, you?
C: I'm just glad to be alive, not stuck in a tree.
:lmao:
You had to see it, though!

I'm impressed that he finished it. Started to watch it and after 45 min turned it off.
One of the most overhyped film's ever.

RadioMaster 10 Dec 2006 18:46

actually, I didnt think it was a bad movie. Though my expectations werent that high before.
I liked the action scenes with all the dinosaur fights. Didnt expect Jack Black to be such a good actor.

I think the movie could have been worse.

i agree with your assessment RM ... i'm a big fan of the original and felt JB would be too young for the role... but i was surprised how well he filled it...
i do think it was too long ... i did like Naomi Watts and ... was it .. Adrian Brody? ... in their roles...

all and all... i was set to not like it... but ended up liking it ...

but still the original is best...imo... it may look hokey?... but it's the music that makes that film so intense... imo ... plus... the first time i saw it... i was a little kid... and you know how impressionable THEY can be... ... i lay awake nights waiting for that beast to peek in my third floor bedroom window for daaaays... ... lol ...

Ok maybe i should give it another go. I was half asleep when i tried to watch it.
Plus i do like Jack Black although more for his comedy.
I shall try when i have a spare day to watch it. :D

RadioMaster 10 Dec 2006 19:17

jep, it was Adrien Brody.

YouŽre right, the intensity comes from the music.

Listen to it with 5.1 Dolby speakers/headphones, that creates a whole different atmosphere, you really feel like youŽre taking part in that T-Rex fight.:))

gatewaytohell 10 Dec 2006 20:38

Last movie I saw was.. love actually

Jeanie 10 Dec 2006 21:39

The Ballad of Lucy Whipple, which I quite enjoyed. :))
