Yeah but did it specifically say it'd be an ideal gift for father's day 2009 or just father's day? ;)

has anyone ever had the problem that amazon reviews you wrote suddenly appear on other sites?
Just stumbled across a review for Bat 2 that sounded very familiar, and it actually was mine that I posted three years ago on amazon.de.
I did a quick search and actually found exactly the same text on 5 or 6 different online portals.
How can they do that without my permission? All articles mention my name as author, but still I've only posted it on amazon and never allowed it anyone else to publish it.

Can I do something about that?

AndrewG 30 Jun 2009 12:14

It probably says somewhere in their t&cs they can do that. Amazon is such a huge beast they can do what they want pretty much.

It does. See the amazon.com T&Cs, specifically:

If you do post content or submit material, and unless we indicate otherwise, you grant Amazon a nonexclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, and fully sublicensable right to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, and display such content throughout the world in any media.

To be honest I thought that most places did that, included in the T&C's is a statement saying they can do whatever they want with your text or pics.

mtv was just showing a documentary on Michael Jackson's life from around 2000, ending with the words 'I'm sure this wont be the last we've heard of him'.
They should actually check what they put on the air, to avoice a fauxpas like that.

How long are your shifts? And do you have body armour? I think you do a similar role to the people I do tech support for. Most of the time I envy the role - except today!

Just being outside for half an hour on my lunch break was far too hot ... and I am much happier in my air conditioned office (especially now my opposite has gone home for the day, and I can have the aircon turned onto full wack and blasting out towards the desks instead of towards the wall!

the insurance company made me an offer for the accident, I'm still laughing but I suppose they had to try lol

Pudding 02 Jul 2009 07:28

General rule of thumb is to accept their 3rd offer. 1st one is a pisstake, 2nd one is getting there, 3rd one is about the best you're going to get.

My solicitor thinks they must've made a mistake, there's a set of guidelines that courts refer to when assessing compensation and the offer is way below it, they're writing back to them with our offer and if they don't match it the court papers will be drawn up. No third chances here lol

I got an absolutely stunning reminder on my right elbow of when I fell down the stairs. Keep forgetting it is bruised so lean on it then leap a mile in the air with pain  !

I am not coping well to this heat, I cannot get cool despite having the windows open as far as they will go.

Happier note dad's taking me to see Public Enemies tomorrow with Johnny Depp, am really excited and looking forward to it .

You've not got the rain yet then?

Bring back the stifling heat!!!

Monstro 03 Jul 2009 11:40

We had a bit of rain during the night but we're not forcast any til next week now

~Helen~ 03 Jul 2009 13:04

To be honest I prefer the sun. I appreciate I have aircon in the office which helps. And that going for a run yesterday evening wasn't particularly pleasant due to the heat, but I like the sunshine. It puts everyone in a better mood, and everywhere looks nicer. And rain doesn't leak into my money pit of an it's-a-building-site-not-a-house when it's dry out! Compromise of sunshine and cooler temperatures than yesterday would be perfect. But I'd swap this miserable weather for yesterday's anyday!

allrevvedup 03 Jul 2009 13:13

I was woken up by the flash of lightening yesterday morning at around 4...that'll teach me to leave the curtains open

It was raining this morning but it's very warm now...unusual for ireland...it can't last

allrevvedup 03 Jul 2009 22:54

thanks to our loveable internet junkie, am watching Hits Out Of Hell on dvd...thanks hon:D

MeatGrl1 04 Jul 2009 03:10

Loved Public Enemies, it was brilliant.

Johnny Depp and Billy Crudup  were brilliant and what a bonus to have two of my fave actors in one move though I will be honest and say that I love Johnny a bit more . Very sad at the end though.

I am absolutely shocked looking at some people on the Michael Jackson fan pages over at facebook, if you are not a fan or do not respect him why 'Become a fan' then post $hit ?! I've spent a few minutes earlier reporting posts and innappropriate slogan pictures, really why bother except try to draw negative attention to yourself ?

Even in death they condem him, it makes me sick and angry !

duke knooby 04 Jul 2009 03:31

its good gear alright, but a bit strong me thinks lol

allrevvedup 04 Jul 2009 10:59
