Date Movie
utter crap. They just copied the original movie scenes but with more toilet jokes...pretty disgusting ones among them, including a two minute scene of a cat having diharrea.(sp?)

Epic Movie
Same shit, but a lot more boring and even less funny.

When will people stop making those cheap spoof movies??

Severance

Unfortunately I trusted the positive review in my TV guide that described it as a "horror satire". I expected classic horror trash mixed with fine British humor but it turned out rather dull. There were some scary moments in the beginning but the more the movie progressed the more it appeared like a brutal war movie and the ending was pretty trite. :?

Good but very long, they really should have cut about 20 minutes of it

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. An enjoyable way to spend a couple of hours, but not a patch on Raiders of the Lost Ark or The Last Crusade. Probably on a par with Temple of Doom, although I have to admit to having not seen it for a few years.

It has the opposite effect on me. Every time I watch it I think less of it. On the other hand I can watch MSO and still be amazed.

Sarge 13 Jul 2009 22:00

I watched 3 Bats Live only once and haven't watched it again so far. I loved watching the band but Meat looked very old, tired and sick and he obviously did not enjoy being on stage that night. :( I'm not keen on seeing this. Fortunately, he was in better shape during the 2008 tour.

Just watching Hocus Pocus. It's actually a children's film but the witches, especially Bette Midler, are hilarious. :lawl:

i think 3 bats live only looks so bad as youve got the superb mso to compare it with 1:1. Watching it in it's own right it surely has a number of good moments.
That said though, I've only watched it 1 - 1 1/2 times myself. So I'm not the best person to judge it. It's a good thing to be remembered of the 07 tour. When I hear the all revved up opening it definitely takes me somewhere. So everyone who was to a show of the stn/3 bats tour has a good reason to buy/watch it....sadly that's not the base to build successful sales figures on...

One thing I really like though is the fast, music video like editing. I know I'm not in the majority with this, but it's really enjoyable to watch.

Some parts of 3 bats are worth watching such as Black Betty, If it ain't broke, it's all coming back to me now and a couple of other things. I've only watched it a couple of times whereas with Live with MSO that comes across as a much better show and Meat doesn't seem under as much pressure during it.

Maybe it had a lot to do with a Canadian winter and whatever state the cyst was in, but 3 bats was a disappointment, overall.

Elijah's way 14 Jul 2009 13:11

Personally I think 3 Bats Live is as good as MSO.

Beleive it or not the only real decent performance IMO is BFG. I've treated the vocal cuts and with them treated (with studio material seamlessly) its the only song i dont skip on shuffle from that show.

IMO 3 Bats was good instrumentally but Meat overall wasn't in form. i mean if meat had a sax player on MSO, it'd be perfect. I'd love Dave to play the familiar beginning bars of all revved up at some point, but I dunno if that'll happen.

overall meat is meat. I'd rather watch 3 bats Live then banana montanna or whatever the kids listen to these days.

Last movie i watched was focus. Just received it from nexflix. Not that great..

Nighthawks, very surprised that it was this good.

Evil One 14 Jul 2009 15:08

True Lies. Been a long time since I've seen it and I thought it was quite enjoyable.

Spy Hard. Terrible. Didn't make me chuckle once.

allrevvedup 14 Jul 2009 16:13

I liked Spy Hard, but all those type of films, you just really have to be in the mood for.

Was thinking about that as I flicked on to Hot Shots last night

Friday the 13th: Jason takes Manhattan

was a horrible tv cut. I dont have a problem with gory death scenes being cut, but in a movie that's about them it was kinda strange...
The movie itself was enjoyable, though nobody seems to care about logic or a plot at all lol

At the moment, Gran Torino, but if I post this time tomorrow, it will have been Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, which I'm seeing tonight!!!!

mszee 15 Jul 2009 18:14

I need some help with the movie.

When Reader was nominated for Oscar I put it into my Netflix queue. Then I wanted to get a book and description of the book sounded freaking disgusting to me.

I forgot to re-arrange my queue and so now movie is on the way to me.

Can somebody please let me know if they would recommend this movie knowing the fact that I won't be able to watch the movie where there is implicit or explicit mention of the sexual acts between the adult and a minor.

Please help - right now I feel like turning around and just sending it right back but maybe movie isn't truly based on the book.

yeh, its just the screen faded to black once before in the movie and again at the end so I thought it would carry on like the last time... if that makes sense :D

RHPS ... but before Sunday it was Ice Age 3 - though I went on my own because no one else was interested (and I can't watch movies with people who don't want to watch!)! I wasn't too keen on it to start, but it picked up in the middle - and largely for Buck's part I thought it was probably better than the previous two. Loved the POTC references (but then, I am a big fan of POTC, lol)

Not going to see HP until next week - my friends insist it'll be quieter and less full of children by then!

Oh! and I am curious btw, i've not heard of the movie 'reader' Zina was mentioning - Zina did you watch it in the end?

Gran Torino was a great film. It's hard to believe a film about a grumpy old man can be so entertaining only Clint Eastwood could pull it off. It's also pretty damn funny at times too, but has a sad ending. I heard it was going to be Clint Eastwood's last acting role too.

The last film I seen was "The Green Mile" to me it's one of the best films of all time. The first time I seen it I was nearly in tears. Stephen King is a genius.

As for The Green Mile, read the book RJ, if you haven't already, there's a few things that get explained a bit better... still, it's one of the best King adaptations out there, along with The Shawshank Redemption.
