 Stand By Me.
Great film adaptation of a Stephen King book 8) |
Quote:
last one for me was Batman Begins |
Indiana Jones and the kingdom of the Crystal Skull, started yesterday and finished this morning, and now I'm watching Hellboy II
|
High Fidelity, great film and a record collection to die for :))

The International. Rather average and needed a little bit more action in it. I think Clive Owen would have made a great James Bond though, much better than Daniel Craig.
|
The Final Destination
enjoyable watch, but by no means a good movie. Looks like they lost track of the plot half way through to be honest. Some major plot holes in there as well. |
Quote:
Last film I saw was Wanted... not bad, and it'll be interesting to see how they explain Fox in the sequel.... |
I thought Wanted was ok, but it could have been better.

Seen Howard Stern's Private Parts yesterday, followed by Batman (1989)
|
I think Batman has aged rather badly. Last time I watched it, it wasn't as good as I remembered it.
|
I found it rather boring in places. I guess twenty years later we're used to being spoiled with fast driving action thriller plots that a movie like that doesnt really have the same impression anymore. Especially with The Dark Knight, essentially the same movie, around.
|
The Good Son
|
The Mudlark on Film4 yesterday.

Did he mind you looking at him like that?! No seriously it's a good film, I like it. |

http://media.mlxxfc.net/clive.jpg Oh, hang on, that's Clive DUNN isn't it? Saying that, I wouldn't rule it out. If Stallone can still play Rocky, Dunn can still play an action man for all occasions :bleh: |
Angels & Demons. Definitely better than the Da Vinci Code.
|
 Changing Lanes.
Not as good as I thought it might be. Still, wasworth a go  |
Dark Passage - Humphrey Bogart classic
|
Angels & Demons. I have no idea why they felt they needed to change so much from the novel. And not for the better, in my opinion. But in fairness, it's a very good-looking film in hi-def.
|
What was the last movie you saw
Dirty dancing and gost and black dog as my tribute to patrick swayze RIP
|
Crank: High Voltage
|
Up.
Stunning as I have come to expect from Pixar/Disney. |
The Outfit - 1970s gangster movie with Robert Duvall and Joe Don Baker
|

Tomorrow never dies
One of the best Bond film.. :D |
Zombieland...very good start, slow middle, good ending..
If you liked Shaun of the dead you'll like this |
The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnasuss.
Don't see it on the strength of Johnny Depp being in it, he's only in it for ten minutes, ditto Colin Farrell and Jude Law... |
Halloween - the original one. Was Jamie Lee Curtis ever that young???
|
Michael Jackson's This Is It
Made me cry but I loved it, it was nice to see him doing what he did best though there was a sense of melancholy about it :(. |
Public Enemies with Jonny Depp...B-O-R-I-N-G ! I probably built it up too much in my mind before watching it.
|
Halloween.. I fell asleep in middle of it..
|
Before you say it, I know it's not a film, but I'm studying again, so I'm working my way through my House box sets...
|
Saw Michael Jackson's "This Is It" yesterday. Loved it. Felt a little sad to see what we never will see.
Saw "The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus" today. Brilliant! Was well pleased to see it's still Heath's film. Delicately handled. Off to see "The Time Traveller's Wife" tomorrow. |
Daredevil. I thought it was :shit:. A weird blend of Batman Begins style darkness and Batman and Robin style crapness.
|
A Christmas Carol (in 3D)
|
Up (Very good) :D
|
Raising Helen
Boy, itīs been a while since I last watched a chick-flick lol |
Wayne's World 2
|
Kunsten å tenke negativt (The Art of Negative Thinking)
I especially like the title... |
A bit of a not-having-to-think-about-it-too-hard Indiana Jones marathon yesterday while I was attempting to get up the enthusiasm to do some studying, and I'm currently watching In Her Shoes - I love the poem Maggie recites to her sister at the wedding...
|
Moonwalker and Run Away Bride
|
Silence Of The Lambs ... no matter how many times I've seen it, it still makes me jump
|
2012 Not a bad film, very much in the same vein as Roland Emmerich other disatser movie Day After Tomorrow. We're all DOOMED !

Just seen Paranormal Activity, bit disappointing after all the publicity, not as scary as they are saying ,a few spine chilling bits though and a very unexpected ending
|
I believe the last thing I watched was Michael Jackson Live In Bucharest: The Dangerous Tour, I know it's not a film as such but I believe that't the last thing I watched and it's two hours long so could class as a film   !!
|
Hellboy 2. Not as good as Hellboy 1.
|
I am Legend.
Quite good, though the cgi spoiled it in parts. |
Quote:
Last thing I watched was Michael Ball's millenium concert at RAH. Got to love the Blues Brother medley . |
4 Christmas's Good movie

american pie...one of my favourite movies

Die Hard 4.0, good enough for the genre although end CGI sequences with the truck looked liek they'd been done by a child with MS Paint.
|

saw 6, not as good as the previous saga, but it filled the gap!!!

Really hoping that Peter Kay does remake Die Hard though ... now that will be a comedy film worth watching. |
Sunset Boulevard - masterpiece by Billy Wilder
|
2012 - I loved it! I had read a review saying it was "a big dumb hoot" and thought I would probably agree, but what the heck I could use a laugh :) However I was unprepared for the amazing special fx and it blew me away! ok, it got to me emotionally in a few places, too :) Loved it!

 This Is Spinal Tap.
Still funny  |
The Dead of Night. way chilly!!!!
|

|
I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry - it had some dumb moments, but also some very sweet, touching, and funny moments. It won me over; I enjoyed it :)
-Kathy |
Irina Palm
Unfortunately it was dubbed so I couldn't hear Marianne Faithfull's original raspy voice but it was great anyway. |
 Smokey & The Bandit.
Hardly highbrow, I know, but still raises the odd smile now and again  |
The Wrestler
good one, bit like a low budget version of Rocky IV with a sad ending |
Quote:
Premonition. Ms Bullock in a serious role but still looking lovely. |
Quote:
it's funny, i knew the song since it came out, but never made the connection to the movie of the same title. Before I've seen the movie i thought the song was good, but combined it had much more of an impact on me. Last movie was Jackie Brown. |
Harry Brown with Michael Caine, pile of cack.
|
Lair of the White Worm (1988 )
cheesy b-class horror flick, but FUN!! :D |
Fargo ... it a bizarre movie, but I'm really enjoying it :-)
|
Please don't cast any stones but it was actually Twilight out of curiousity...could have been worse...
|
Canicule (Dog Day)
Weird French thriller starring Lee Marvin. Pretty sad to see one of my favorite actors in this movie... |
Family Guy Xmas special
|
Tremors
I love that movie, but one thing I never got: Why does the creature in the movie look NOTHING like the one on all the posters and ads? |
