Although all computer models tracked the storm to come right over my rooftop, the tropical storm took a turn east so it's hitting the Bahamas hard now. We ended up with a lot of rain but no wind. So, blessings counted, the power is on and the only negative is that soccer practice is cancelled tonight. A good day in lieu of what could have been.

I just heard on radio that actor Tony Curtis has died ~ aged 85. I always thought he was so handsome/ cute and loved the huskiness of his voice. I miss him already. I'm listening to him speaking on radio right now. You know, I'm going to watch his films when they come on tv.

Thoughts ~ thoughts ~ thoughts ...

Steve6 30 Sep 2010 13:46

Is really wanting to watch a scary horror film tonight!!!

Sue K 30 Sep 2010 14:32

Imo, the politicians in Washington, DC, USA should be super-glued to their chairs until they sort out all the worries of those they represent rather than traipsing off on the campaign trail. The bastids leave today and won't be back until mid-November !!! That's ridiculous. With all the technology today, tweeting, FB, cellPhone , blackberry and on and on ad nausem, SURELY they don't need to go anywhere in order to get the "vote for me/him/ her" word out. Bastids !

RadioMaster 30 Sep 2010 17:37

went to see Leonard Cohen last night. Over 3 1/2 hours show...at the age of 76!

Sorry to hear, Mousie.

Not to put light spin, okay, maybe to... lol ... a few years back I lost two uncles within a week. When I begged off work to attend the second uncle's funeral, I was asked if I had any other elderly relatives ready to kick off I'll be needing to lose time at work over ... lol ...

Again, though, seriously, sorries sent... xo

It's a sandwich of browned ground meat with spicy tomato sauce mixed into it. You can put the mixture on rice or pasta as well. With a side of salad, that makes a nice, quick meal.

I bet ya it hit the spot. Many:-)

AndyK 05 Oct 2010 15:03

Half an hour later I'm still finding bits of chocolate all over my desk!

I thought the idea of the Galaxy Ripple was that the flake element was contained in a protective solid chocolate outside, not that it exploded into dust the moment you open the packet!

A Galaxy Ripple must be like a Twirl in Australia. Is it a flake covered in a thin layer of chocolate made by Cadbury?:D

daveake 05 Oct 2010 15:58

Next time, see if you can gain the assistance of a Flake girl to show you how ... ;-)

GDW 05 Oct 2010 16:01

You have to gently peel back the tender outer layer first and than slowly suck it.:D

AndyK 05 Oct 2010 16:03

Next time I'll make sure I don't get the one that has repeatedly fallen out of the fridge!

Steve6 05 Oct 2010 16:12

Go for the solid Galaxy bar not the ripple. It's much more filling anyway.

farl (plural farls)

(obsolete) A quarter of a thin oatmeal or flour cake.
Any such cake or bread, now particularly used for Irish specialities as soda farls and potato farls.

Happy Friday meatie peeps ...

It's Friday, I don't have to bother the landlord about the hot water heater as it's NOT broken, I managed to see MOST of 'Imself's performance on Leno last night (two thumbs up... one for 'Imself ... one for the fab band) and after that I found there were TWO LOCI featuring Det Bobby Goren on the tube after ! For me, life can't feel any better... at this SECOND ! ... oh, well, though, there IS that jackass outside honking their car horn like a loon. What's up with that in this age of cellphones ? I understand they're too feckin' lazy to get out the car and ring the bell, but didn't they call first ? ... ohmmm ... ohmmm... Vincent D'Onofrio as Det Bobby G... THERE ! ... better ... :D ...
