Not sure if anyone has seen this article yet. Quite interesting:
http://www.tmcnet.com/usubmit/2006/05/26/1660335.htm

"...The series has given big boosts to the album sales of pop stars who have appeared on it...." :))

SuperLoafMan 26 May 2006 12:34

I wish I had not read the Celine Dion forum.....Ok, some of the reviews were good but others they really pissed me off

Quote: "OMG Meatloaf cant sing anymore"

The user couldnt even spell Meat Loaf!!

JacenSolo 26 May 2006 14:46

from a long time fan of The Man

I'm a die-hard fan, as most of you are, with over 120 Meat cd's, everything he does, I buy. I'll be honest, I was extremely disappointed, it seemed like Meat's nerves got the best of him, and he was holding back, vocally he was having a really rough night. Kat shined though....either way, everyone's entitled to a case of the nerves or a bad night, or to be sick, or whatever....he's is only human after all, even though he appears as a super-human to most of us.
Just my thoughts...

Diane 26 May 2006 17:04

Just found this interview with Meat which I think you should all read.

Anyone who has the guts to walk out on stage in front of a worldwide audience of, I don't know ... 60 million people, and perform a song as difficult as IACBTMN live and for the very first time has my full and utter respect.

When I watch Meat tonight on ITV2 I will be looking at a very brave man. I feel so bad for him for the hell he had to go through to stand on that stage and the nightmarish demons he had to overcome to face the cameras; but he did it and he delivered.

Rock on Meat!

Diane

Get this, an Administrator, of all people, on that Celine forum, has said 'LMAO, Meatloaf(can't spell) looks like he has parkinson's disease'. What a nasty thing to say, shows the mentality of that forum, I know we have some bickering here at times, but never nastiness like that.

well said Diane I was shocked at some of the remarks I have found on the web

Rock on Meat!

JacenSolo 26 May 2006 17:25

the celine admin should be ashamed of that remark. I did read that little article mentioned above, that explains some of the appearance, still a bit concerned about the vocals, though - I love Meat and that big trademark voice, and am just praying he was sick or having an off night.....

Jayd 26 May 2006 17:39

I took the liberty of reporting this comment to the Moderator's and other admin about this insensitive remark posted on the celine Dion site. Was very inappropriate and of bad taste. I don't think the administrator realises the pain and suffering, that people who suffer from this horrible disease, and their families go through.

This says it all, and can't be repeated enough! Thanks so much, Diane, for the link and the commentary. This confirms what I could see in his face right after his beginning solo part of the duet; I knew he was going through hell.

Ignorant remarks like that from other boards are not open to discussion and shouldn't be brought here. It's just best to do as you have done and report it to the administrator/mods on that board and hope they deal with it effectively.

Well there are plenty of nasty things I could say about Celine Dion and her nasty fans, but get this: I will not scoop to their level!

He said he had never sung that song live before, and as he puts it, it felt like he had "an alien busting out my chest."
I think everybody knows such situations like he had to go through. It is too understandable how he felt.

Can anyone tell me how far into the show Meat is on? I don't really want to sit through 3 hours of it

vrg 26 May 2006 20:00

He and Katherine are on near the end of the first half hour, if they show the entire program.

Not sure if this helps or not but im sure the reason they said Meat had parkinsons was because his hand was visably shaking in places. well its just ignorance as this is a microphone technique that many singers use to get a better vibrato sound

He does it most of the time.
Many times even more intensive than on AI.

I think he said somewhere that itīs caused by the intensity which he put in his songs.

DIZZY DRUMMER 26 May 2006 22:00

I think "Father Ted" did well
